Chapter 1: The past

 

Sept. 2000

                First day of school for kids, everyone is a stranger, some are afraid while others try to be brave.

“Good morning class” the teacher said.

Everyone is quiet. They don’t know what they would do.

“Ok! So I’m teacher…, I’m gonna be your teacher for a whole school year, so now  that I’ve introduce myself, you can now formally introduce yourself.” So one by one, the student started introducing theirselves.

At recess…

“Hey!” a big girl called.”You I’m calling you!” she said pointing at Minzy.”Can I help you or something?” Minzy looked really scared and about to cry.

“Aww men! A fight!” Dongho said (he’s far from the fight)

“Why did you push me when I was drinking my milk?”

“I’m sorry! I didn’t mean it! I was trying to get through.”

“What do you think am I? Blind? I saw you pushed me!”

“I’m sorry!!! I’m sorry!!!” was all that Minzy said then started crying.

“Get her!” the girl sad signaling her other friends.

“Aish! What should I do?” Dongho asked himself. Then, he suddenly run.

**At the fight**

The girls are slapping Minzy like there’s no tomorrow.

“ Please stop!” Minzy said.

The others are just laughing.

“Whoa! Whoa! Stop it!” Dongho said. “On the first day of school, your fighting?” Then Dongho looked at Minzy and picked up her up. “Come on, don’t you have friends to protect you?” he asked.

“No, it’s the first day of school, I have any friends.”

“Oh, ok! Since you don’t have any friends, stick with me, you’ll be safer with me.”

**After the class ended**

“Hey, where do you live? Do you want me to walk with you home?” Dongho asked.

“I live 3 blocks away from school at XX Street.” Minzy answered.

“I live there too, let’s walk home together.”

“Oh! Ok!” Minzy answered smiling.

**At XX Street**

“Hey, tnx for walking home with me, this is my stop.” Minzy faced him.

“Really? I just live nextdoor! We could go to school together.” Dongho suggested.

“Sure.” Minzy answered happily.

**The next day**

“Hey Minzy, Good Morning.” Dongho said.

“Oh, Good Morning Dongho!”

“Good, are you ready? Let’s go”

“Yeah sure.”

Since the day the met, they’re always been friends.

**December 2003**

“Dongho-shi!! Merry Christmas! What’s your gift for me?” Minzycalled him.

“You only greeted me because you want a gift?” Dongho sounded hurt.

“You and your acting.”

“Whatever! What did you get me anyways? Dongho asked curiously.

“It’s a secret! You’ll be surprise when you see it!”

“Kya~~!! Let’s meet tomorrow morning!”

“It’s always morning when we meet! Why can’t it be in the night before Christmas?” Minzy said.”Besides, I have a surprise for you! You’d be happy  for me when you see him!!”

“What? Him? A boy? Who’s he?” Dongho sounded angry and worried at the same-time.

“Don’t worry Mom ! We haven’t kissed yet!!!”

“Minzy-ahh!! Youre too young for that!!!”

“Youre   over reacting!! You do you care anyways???”

“ Because youre jealous?” Minzy answered her own question.

“Yuck! No I am not!! I promised myself that I’ll never never let anyone hurt you!”

“Besides, you look ugly when you cry!” he added.

“Does that mean I look beautiful??”

“I didn’t say that!!”

“Yes you did, but not directly.”

“No I didn’t!”

“Yes you did”

“No I didn’t”

“Yes you did!”

“Oh shut up!! I gotta go! Mom’s calling me!”

“Oh wait! Where will we meet?”

“At the carnival,8 pm.”

“Ok, well be there!”

“Huh?” Dongho asked confused.

Then Minzy hung up.

**At the Carnival, Christmas eve**

Dongho  found Minzy crying.

“Whoa! What happened to you?!” Dongho sounded worried.

“Nothing!” Minzy answered without looking up.

“Are you ok?!” he asked.”Who did this to you?”

“It’s not right to ask ‘are you ok’ to a person crying!”

“I’m sorry!!” he apologized

“You don’t have to.”

Dongho just nodded then added

“Were bestfriends, right?”

“You can tell me anything” he continued.

“Oh ok!” Minzy stopped crying.

“Well always be friends, forever.” He said.

“Promise?”

“Promise!”

Minzy spilled everything.

--Flashback—

**Christmas eve, mornig**

“Oppa! Hi!” Minzy said

“Hello Minzy!” he replied

“Joonie-oppa you want to come with me tonight? I’ll introduce you to my bestfriend.!”

“No, this isn’t right, I should go now”

“Why?!”

Joonie just left

--End of flashback—

“That’s it? Are you really that shallow?” Dongho asked.

“Yah!! He’s my first love!” Minzy sounded angry.

“Oh!” Dongho just answered.

“Why are you so insensitive!!” Minzy started punching Dongho.

“You didn’t let me finish! Who is he anyway? Where did you meet him? And why didn’t you tell me about him? I thought well tell everything about each other!!” Then Dongho hugged Minzy.

“I’m sorry Dongho! I wanted to surprise you!” Minzy started crying again.

“It’s ok! It’s ok! I’ll make you forget about him!”

He dragged here to the carnival rides.

**10:00 pm**

“Dongho, I think we’ve won enough prizes.”

“Last one! Please .” Dongho pleaded with a cute face. “Then we can exchange our gifts!” he added.

“Ok! Ok!”

**After the game**

“Ok! I’m done.” Dongho said.

“You’re the only who had  fun!”

“Oh shut up! Let’s exchange gifts now.”

Minzy first gave her gift. When Dongho opened it, he was surprised.

“It’s a ring.” Dongho said, confused.

“Here” Minzy put it in his finger.

“This symbolizes our friendship.”

“Oh…” “Now open mine.” He said.

“I have one too” Minzy said and showed her finger and get Dongho’s gift.

“It’s a necklace! Thank you!” Minzy said excitedly.

“Why? Are you leaving me?”

“Incase”

”What?!”
