the first day
Seoul AcademyDaehwi's POV
__________
Today is my first day of school, and I'm honestly really nervous. Finishing this last school year was the hardest thing I've had to do in my life, and I barely passed due to my absences. Showing up at my small private school meant being pushed in the hallways, endless name calling and being the scapegoat in every situation. I'm thankful that my mom agreed to let me move here, but I'm scared that history will repeat itself and I'll get bullied the same - or worse. I've had to stay after school to erase the names written on my locker door way too many times before. Will I have to live as if I were dead? Or will I make friends and have people that like me? I guess there's only one way to find out.
I kissed my mom goodbye and headed towards the door, two maps in hand. First, I had to figure out how to get to school on my own and later had to become familiar with the school. Seoul Academy was only supposed to be a few minutes away from my home, so it should be easy to find by asking around. I saw a few girls and boys wearing the same uniform as me make a turn left, and decided to follow them. Turns out they were headed towards a convenience store to buy snacks. I decided to not go inside because the school is supposed to have a snack store already. I need to be there on time and avoid getting lost at all costs, but I made a mental note of this convenience store located a block away from home.
Ten minutes passed and I have yet to find the school... I guess I took a wrong turn. I decided to ditch the map and use the maps application on my phone. To be honest, I should've just done that from the beginning. With thirteen minutes left to get to school, I follow the directions printed on my phone and make my way towards my new school. On a bright note, getting (just a little) lost was beneficial, as I got to discover a few cool places I'd like to visit later and I got familiar with the streets. With about five minutes left to get to school, I start running as I finally see the building. With every step, the building seems to be closer... until I bump into someone and we both find ourselves on the floor.
I get up quickly and put my hand out in front of a red haired boy to help him get up.
"I'm so sorry! I was running because I didn't wanna be late." I said as the boy took my hand and got up.
"It's fine, no need to worry." He said, dusting off his uniform. "You don't have a nametag, are you new here?"
Damn, I forgot about that. It's a clear giveaway that I'm new here. His nametag reads Park Woojin and his neck tie
