Echoes of the Aether
Description
Aether: Believed in Greek Mythology to be the pure essence breathed by the gods.
This story begins in a small town by the name of Clifftop, set in a world filled with a power called Aether. This world is a world without what we know as technology, but Aether is a mysterious force.
Nayeon is one of many who can use Aether, and as an orphan only wishes to become a defender of the land as a High Knight. Her friends Jeongyeon and Mina are with her every step of the way as they serve the orphanage while preparing for the Rite of Selection. The Rite begins in three days. A journey starts somewhere.

If you've happened upon this fic, I welcome you! I go by AirExysKai on the internet, and I hope that you enjoy your stay with my story. If you know my real name, I'd prefer you keep it off of this site.
This isn't the first time I've written, but I haven't written and published in many years. I was formerly known as It's Over 9000! on Soshified, though I have since discontinued use of that account.
This story will feature some language that may not be appropriate for younger readers, though I will place a note or warning for any potential concerns that I find while writing.
Background
I came up with this story as an outlet for my longstanding love of anime and fantasy universes.There will be a lot of work going on behind the scenes for this fanfiction, so at times the updating may slow depending on how I feel about potential story progression.
This story will be filled with with a lore that I'm still actively building. I hope that I can build a world that you, the reader, can immerse yourself in.
Information
As this story will be set in an alternate universe, the world is governed by a slightly different set of rules. After a few chapters, I will start a Lore section where I list out some observations/details about certain aspects of the story. It will be spoiler free, but may provide some insight to what powers you may see in the future.
