Really Want That Piece Of Pie

Really Want That Piece Of Pie

“ing hell—that was the last piece of pie!” Kyuhyun exclaimed in horror, as though losing the pie was the most terrifying thing that could happen in the world. This to him probably was. He was gripping his tray when he looked up at the bastard before him who took it from the counter. He really thought there was a chance of fighting him for it (or beg, really whichever would work) and saw the longest lashes he’d never even thought a dude could own. But the guy was ing owning it.

Kyuhyun really shouldn’t have been surprised. He thought maybe he should’ve seen this one coming. But like any other seventeen year old dude experiencing testosterone, he knew he has to suffer though the same fate of undergoing puberty. But God, please no, not like this, not the way he was about to discover his obviously liked what he was seeing, because beneath those lashes (seriously, CAN THEY GROW THAT LONG?!) were the most breathtaking pair of eyes he had ever seen in his entire life.

He should really say something instead of gaping like a fish and making himself look like a fool, because the guy was staring up at him through those sparkling eyes, goddammit Kyuhyun get a grip.

“Oh, I’m sorry,” The guy said, eyes looking up so innocently, as if he couldn’t have done something wrong. “Did you want the last piece of pie?”

Kyuhyun snapped out of it, which, thank God, otherwise he’d just stare at him forever which wasn’t a bad thought really, if he didn’t have Anatomy and Physiology the next class, he knew a few ways to learn Anatomy through this fine specimen before him. And then his words made sense, Kyuhyun felt a small ball of fire of hope slowly spreading inside him, and nodded with a little bit of eagerness he’d deny later on if he ever lived to tell the tale of looking at the man’s dazzling smile because that smile could kill. His shallow breath was a testament to that. God, he didn’t really believe Hyukjae when he told him about using your boxers twice in a row would bring good luck but the guy might actually be right for once, Jesus, was he really gonna have that last piece of pie all because he got lazy that morning?

“Tough luck, man. I got it first.” The guy, no scratch that. The little shrugged as he walked out of the line and pay for his pie and left the cafeteria, but not without winking at him in the process.

And then he was gone.

And so was the pie.

His pie, damn it.

----

“Swear to god I will kill him.”

Hyukjae raised his eyebrow before rolling his eyes. Twenty minutes after Kyuhyun barged into their dorm room, Hyukjae unwillingly caught up with what happened, and took a deep, deep breath, breathing in all the patience he could.

“Calm down, you really don’t want to commit murder over a pie.”

Kyuhyun gave him a glare, and said, very slowly, “Yes, I do.”

“Oh, for ’s sake, Kyuhyun. Get some sleep. You’re this cranky because you wouldn’t stop playing that stupid game—“

Kyuhyun gasped, offended. “Starcraft is not stupid! It requires strategic war—“

“—every night. You know you’ve been missing our first class for a while, right? Go to Jungsu’s class for once, man.” Hyukjae continued, as though Kyuhyun didn’t interrupt him. They’ve been roommates for three years now and got a hang of it, although Hyukjae wished he really took Kangin’s offer in joining him in the Army and not get stuck with a delicate flower of a roommate. He’s nineteen and almost done with high school. He looked at Kyuhyun who was still seething, nearly ripping his Geometry homework apart. He could still change his mind.

And then, “Well, maybe it was not about the pie.”

Kyuhyun looked up from his bed, gratefully having an excuse to look away from his homework. He furrowed his brows when he didn’t catch what Hyukjae said.

“Maybe it wasn’t about the pie. Dude, you sounded really conflicted while explaining what happened.” Hyukjae explained further. “Dunno if you really wanna kill him or,” and then he leaned closer from where he was sitting by the desk, wiggling his brows with a huge smirk on his face. “jump him.”

Kyuhyun sat up straighter, horrified. Because what?! No, really, what?!

“What?!”

Hyukjae shrugged. “Dude, chill. I’m just saying. You were really articulate about his eyes,”

“I—“

“Seriously, you could like, write that down and submit it to Heechul’s class, you’ll ing ace our Literature.”

Kyuhyun was choking in his own spit by that point, face and neck red, and Hyukjae, the was quiet for a moment, silently watching him before cracking, falling to his floor laughing.

“You ing !” Kyuhyun threw his Geometry book at the older’s direction and stormed out of the room.

----

Last night was ing weird. He was playing Starcraft at two in the morning and felt that he wasn’t really into it. He spaced out for another ten minutes before deciding to call it a night. He went into bed and spaced out some more. His thoughts wandered back when he was seven. He didn’t question it. Just let his mind recall the time when he and his big sister were sitting on the couch, watching Powerpuff Girls because his sister wanted it, because she was older, and that gave her the authority to watch whatever they want when Dad was at work and Mom was visiting their neighbors.

“Tom and Jerry is stupid!”

“It’s not!”

“I said no, Kyu. We’re going to watch Powerpuff Girls!”

“No!”

“Well, I’m older. So you’re going to watch what I want to watch and that’s final.”

He remembered being red from anger and then gradually getting hooked. Of course, he wouldn’t admit that, ever. And okay, yeah. Tom and Jerry was kinda lame. Powerpuff Girls rule!

With that thought in mind, he was finally able to sleep through the night, dreaming of HIM, one of the villains in the show, wreaking havoc in Townsville while eating all the pie.

----

It was too late to do anything else to hide himself. Now, Kyuhyun realized that. But damn it, he was still going to try.

“Please explain to me why the you’re trying to get inside your backpack.” Hyukjae asked under his breath, trying to keep his cool after noticing his roommate and oh, , yeah, his seatmate has finally lost it.

Kyuhyun quickly gave him a shushing sound, knees buried deep inside his bag.

Hyukjae looked up and let out a long suffering sigh before noticing Sungmin coming their way.

“Thanks again for lending me your notes yesterday, Hyuk. Really worried I’d have trouble catching up with our classes.”

Hyukjae waved a dismissive hand good-naturedly and motioned for Sungmin to sit to his right, pointedly ignoring Kyuhyun who was frozen on his other side.

“Don’t mention it, man. I’m glad I could help. Unlike someone who keeps missing their classes, you’re more worthy of my notes.”

Kyuhyun winces, momentarily getting over the fact that the pie thief was his classmate, and that he’s friends with his roommate. He decided right then that he would never ever wear his boxers twice in a row ever again.

That was also the moment the pie thief, who turned out to go by the name of Sungmin (damn it, even his name sounds good) leaned forward to give him a glance over Hyukjae.

That was also the moment he forgot to breathe, because Sungmin’s soft brown hair was falling just above his lashes.

“Well I’ll be damned.” He said when he opened up his pretty little mouth, “If it isn’t my Sugar Pie.”

Goddddddaaaaammmnnnnniiiitttttttttt.

“P—Please don’t call me that.”

Hyukjae looked at Sungmin who was now sporting a huge grin, and then at Kyuhyun who was blushing so much he thought he’d pass out. Hyukjae wasn’t sure how they knew each other. Kyuhyun wasn’t here yesterday and couldn’t have known they had a transferee in class. And then somehow he was able to put it altogether.

“So…” Hyukjae finally spoke, trying hard for casual. “I take it he’s Pie Thief.”

Hyukjae honest to God saw Kyuhyun whimpered, and could feel Sungmin vibrating with excitement beside him. This was all too much for even for him, and prayed that Jungsu would just walk inside the room already. He looked at the wall clock above the whiteboard and was disappointed to learn that they still have ten minutes to go before first period.

“Pie Thief huh…” Sungmin whispered, grinning from ear to ear. It was so so awkward and Kyuhyun wanted for his bag to swallow him whole which oh, he just remembered, was still hugging his lower parts up to his thighs, looking like an idiot with half of his body inside his backpack.

So awkward.

God might have finally took mercy on him as Jungsu swiftly went inside the classroom and everyone sat up straighter, giving Kyuhyun the excuse to take his legs out of the bag and sit properly along with his classmates, which, now included Sungmin who wouldn't stop smiling his way.

Kyuhyun sighed.

The beautiful Pie Thief.

----

Thirty hours ago he could’ve sworn he wasn’t gay. That he was straight. That he could come up to anyone and claim that he liked s, and s, and the smooth, smooth curves of women and their tender bodies because, he was straight.

Take for example Seohyun. Yeah, she was pretty. She’s one of the popular gals in school, being a cheerleader helped that too, and she has those slender thin legs any guy would run after. She’s not that dumb either. She was actually smarter than anyone in their class. But of course, Kyuhyun was smarter. If he wasn’t, he’d had walked straight to Sungmin’s direction inside the boys’ locker-room while he was still changing.

If he wasn’t smart, he’d have taken off his own clothes in front of him. If he wasn’t smart, he’d let Sungmin see the twitching bulge inside his P.E. shorts after seeing him topless and… yeah, that would have been a disaster;  which was why he ran to the other side of the room as quietly as he could and hid inside Hyukjae’s locker (his password was his dog’s birthday. ing typical) and waited for Sungmin to get out so he could finally change in his uniform, and avoided what could have been another embarrassing moment after Jungsu’s class.  Because he was smart.

What he didn’t put into account, though, was that Hyukjae’s locker was . And totally forgot about Hyukjae’s rant last week about it not opening properly, which then he just remembered why Hyukjae was sharing a locker with Kyuhyun.

So now he locked himself inside. Because he was smart.

Frustrated, he knocked his head against the locker so hard the sound of it resonated across the room.

“Is anyone there?”

Which Sungmin was still inside of.

Kyuhyun sighed. Resigned, he raised his throbbing head and cursed under his breath. He really, reaaaaalllly would never wear his boxers twice in a row again. you, Hyukjae.

“Yeah, uhmm… I’m kind of stuck.” He called out. Because he knew Sungmin was the only one left inside, judging from the silence except for Sungmin’s careful  footsteps towards Hyukjae’s locker.

“Wait,”

Kyuhyun heard Sungmin’s voice once the footsteps stop.

“Are you—I mean, are you inside the locker?”

Kyuhyun wanted to laugh really. But the universe was probably doing it for him, at him. He thumped his head once more, closing his eyes and hoping maybe everything would just disappear if he did.

“I am. Please help.”

He could now see a glimpse of Sungmin from the inside, between the small horizontal holes of the locker.

He waited for the laughter to come, but nothing came. Instead, after about five seconds of waiting for anything, Sungmin finally knocked at the locker.

“It’s Kyuhyun, right?” He asked quietly, recognizing his voice.

Kyuhyun raised an eyebrow before humming patiently. He wanted to get out fast, so he recited the password for Sungmin.

“Man, you’re on fire today, aren’t you? Can you tell me what happened?” Sungmin asked, voice calm. Kyuhyun decided not to answer that, but he could hear Sungmin already tinkering with the locks. And then, “Kyuhyun, the lock’s not working.”

“No .” He heard himself say, and heard a smash against the locker beside his, as though it was punched.

“Shut up.” Sungmin growled, voice full of venom. “I’m going to look for help because obviously neither of us could get you out of there fast enough.”

And then he was gone, and Kyuhyun was left with a ing because honestly that was ing—Sungmin sounded so hot.

Kyuhyun repeatedly slammed his head against the locker’s door.

Ten minutes later, he was out. He apologized to the security guard for causing too much trouble and thanked him for helping, all of which Shindong dismissed offhandedly.

“Honestly, kid. I’ve seen worse. Now get out.”

Kyuhyun didn’t stick around to know about the ‘worse’ and left with Sungmin quietly walking beside him.

This was all too weird. He locked himself inside a locker and didn’t receive any for his stupidity.

He glanced at Sungmin oh so subtly, and jumped when Sungmin quickly looked back at him directly. He looked away after a beat and continued walking towards their dorm building.

“So, nothing?” He finally asked when they reached the lobby. “No hits? C’mon. I’m a tough guy. I can take it.”

Sungmin shrugged. Kyuhyun didn’t exactly miss the silent treatment. Sungmin looked out of it ever since he came back with Shindong.

He had a guess, though.

“How old were you?”

Sungmin in a breath when he looked up at Kyuhyun. Then he shook his head.

“Can’t remember. Probably Grade 7. Some kids thought it was fun. I uhh… stayed for 10 hours until a teacher noticed I was gone.”

Kyuhyun stayed quiet, waiting for Sungmin to continue. “I remember coming out of the locker dehydrated and feeling faint. But that’s about it.”

He wanted to reach out and give him a pat. Maybe even forgive him for the pie incident. Which, okay, he wasn’t going to lie. He’d already forgiven Sungmin for that. He just didn’t want the feeling of resentment get replaced with a different feeling.

“I’m sorry.” He offered, because he was not an .

Sungmin looked at him, a small smile playing in his lips. “Nah, it’s not so bad now.”

“Why didn’t you ask for help, though?” he furrowed his brows in confusion because, surely, someone would’ve heard him.

Sungmin shook his head before smiling. “Couldn’t. I was mostly an outcast then, when everyone saw me kissing another boy in the bathroom, nobody wanted anything to do with me. So, with that mindset, I just sort of sat there for hours.”

Kyuhyun gaped at him. , did he just—

This man just ing went through that and still remained beautiful. He might be a little in love.

They were quiet for a moment before Kyuhyun spoke, “Well, at least there’s something we could take away from this experience.”

Sungmin smiled questioningly, and Kyuhyun had to catch his breath. “What’s that?” Sungmin asked.

“Narnia doesn’t ing exist.” Kyuhyun grinned as he watched Sungmin burst into a fits of laughter.

That night, Kyuhyun was quietly lying on his bed and fully awake, thinking about some existential bull while Hyukjae snored for the rest of South Korea.

That night, he reached one conclusion before finally going to sleep: He just literally came out of the closet.

That night, he dreamed of Sungmin kissing a boy inside a locker.

He dreamed he was that boy.

----

Kyuhyun thought if anyone deserved to know first, it would probably be Hyukjae who constantly put up with all the Kyuhyun’s brought into his life ever since they met. So as soon as he took a shower, clothed himself, and walked back inside their room, he quietly approached Hyukjae who was busily working his way through his overflowing cereal bowl.

“Hyung… I,” Kyuhyun took a deep breath, walking up a little closer to Hyukjae, eyes unfocused. He squeezed both of his sweating palms and looked uncertainly at the other.

Hyukjae let out a snort as he took a glance at his roommate looking so constipated even he felt painful for him. “What?”

There was silence, and Hyukjae was about to beat it out of the younger because honestly it was too early for him to deal with Kyuhyun’s right now.

“Hyung, I think I might be gay.”

Hyukjae murmured a soft ‘uh-huh’, raised a spoonful of cereal up to his mouth before stopping midway, letting the words sink in because what?

“What.”

“Uhh I think I’m… gay?” Kyuhyun scratched the back of his head, sounding unsure of what he just said.

Silence, the sound of their alarm clock going off on Hyukjae’s side table cutting through it. Eyes wide, Hyukjae put down the spoon back into the bowl and opened his lips.

 “Please don’t kiss me.”

“What.” It was Kyuhyun’s turn to be confused. “Gross. Why would I kiss you?!”

“What? First thing you say to me at 5 in the morning is that you’re gay you expect me to fist bump you?”

“It didn’t mean I’m confessing my feelings for you, idiot!”

“Then what does it mean?!”

“It means I’m gay! Honestly, hyung,” Kyuhyun crossed his arms against his chest impatiently.

Hyukjae furrowed his brows for a few more minutes, before sighing and rubbing his hands to his face.

“Right, okay. You’re gay. I’m happy for you, man. Really.”

Kyuhyun smiled before hugging his hyung who casually hugged back. Okay, wow, that actually went well.

“Seriously, though. Why wouldn’t you want to kiss me? I’m gorgeous.”

Kyuhyun rolled his eyes before letting go.

----

Kyuhyun was nervous. Like honest to god nervous. He didn’t know why he chose to do it this way. No scratch that, he knew why. Because he was a hopeless romantic piece of , that's why. And he wanted to make Sungmin smile.

‘Also, because I want to make Sungmin mine.’ He thought to himself.

Kyuhyun took a deep breath and walked inside the cafeteria, securely holding up a box to his chest.

He scanned the hall for a beautiful pair of eyes and walked right up to him.

Sungmin was quietly sitting at a table all by himself, but immediately lit up when he saw Kyuhyun making his way to him.

“Hey Kyu, nice to see you not stuffing yourself into anything this time.”

Kyuhyun supposed Sungmin meant that to be an innocent statement. But then he saw Sungmin's smirk, and knew he meant exactly what Kyuhyun thought he meant by it.

“No, not at the moment.” Kyuhyun couldn’t help but smirk back. Although it probably looked creepy when he did it. “Maybe soon. Probably. Hopefully.”

Sungmin raised an eyebrow.

“Uhmm…” He very so smoothly slid the box on the table, and oh god. Okay. He’s doing it. He’s really doing it. “I—this is, I mean. For you. I made this for you.” me.

Sungmin was now raising both of his eyebrows, slowly but eagerly opening the box and gasped when he saw what’s inside and burst out laughing.

‘Wanna be your Sugar Pie’ was written at the top of a pumpkin pie.

Then Sungmin stood up, grabbed Kyuhyun by the back of his head and pulled him down for a kiss. Which was sweet, wait, was that pumpkin pie he tasted? Did Sungmin just have pumpkin pie for lunch?!

Kyuhyun swallowed the taste of slight betrayal and kissed back, slowly, fervently, until Sungmin pulled back and whispered, “Really want that piece of pie, Sugar.” While fondling his and honestly this was the best feeling he’d ever experienced in his entire life. He suspected it wouldn’t be for long.

They would have continued, if not for the loud groan coming from two tables behind them.

“Urgh, please stop.” Hyukjae was hiding his face behind his hands.

Sungmin and Kyuhyun smirked like the little they were.

“I hate you both.” He muttered while looking at them with soft eyes.

Evidently, the both of them would often miss Jungsu’s class, and Hyukjae’s life just got a little bit harder after that.

Chapter 1: I'm crying because Kyu, damn it, from the start, it's very evident that you're gay. Oh god, first thought that entered my mind is, 'Kyu, that's so gay' and it remained in my mind until the end. This is hilarious af, much more so because of Hyukjae constantly suffering by dealing with Kyu's - and now, Min's as well - .

P.S: I miss Sungmin very much so I'm reading this on his birthday, but this fic only made me miss him more so now I'm crying for a different reason.
