Baekhyun was bored.

His assignments were half done – basically done, he didn’t have anything he felt motivated to do but scroll down his feed on Instagram to find pictures of his classmates stuffing themselves with junk food. He was supposed to go out with them today, but after realising how much work he hadn’t touched this semester he stopped himself for once.

Provoked, he called up Papa Johns and requested for the hot chilli pizza. Not his usual, but he felt particularly weary so he was willing to try something new.

Papa John’s: Baekhyun, your next automated pizza delivery is scheduled for SUNDAY, MARCH 4^th at 1:00pm. To confirm text YES. To decline text NO. Text HELP 4 help

‘An automated text. Well, it’s something to talk to at least.’ He thought.

BBH: Thank u papa john u handsome man. I shall call u the Carbs Vixen

He turned smug like he was the smoothest guy in the world; hitting up the automated robot. He really had ing nothing to do.

The reply was instantaneous.

Papa John’s: We’re sorry, we didn’t understand. Please confirm or decline.

BBH: When I make love I imagine you tossing some dough shirtless.

His smirk started to reach his ears as he crossed his feet up to rest on his desk ‘I don’t know why I’m even doing this wow.’

He waited.

After a few seconds he questioned why he even bothered to, the reply was meant to be instantaneous right?

He checked the messages. There were none.

After a few minutes of contemplating what he had done to the automated reply, he hypothesised that it must’ve been some sort of algorithm to smell bull, that had been set on the second reply the robot didn’t understand. Logically he assumed that the order was cancelled and he’d probably have to takeout from somewhere else.

Papa John’s: Dude, our automated system isn’t setup yet. This is a real person texting you. I make minimum wage so please just tell me if you want the pizza.

‘oh’

BBH: HELP

Papa John’s: …yes what can I assist you with?

‘they must be so pissed off’ he laughed.

BBH: MY GIRLFRIEND BROKE UP WITH ME CAN I GET A DISCOUNT

Papa John’s: I feel bad

Papa John’s: for her she had to put up with someone like you.

Papa John’s: I mean, please confirm the order sir if you do not require necessary assistance. :)

BBH: just bring the pizza, but as a special request bring yourself aswell ;))))

An hour had passed, the pizza wasn’t there yet, Baekhyun was left to let his extra self out on the group chat.

Baekhyun closed his phone and started walking towards the door slowly. He just wasted someone’s time by texting the unfortunate soul unnecessary comments and being a complete , so he wasn’t sure what to expect when he opened the door.

A guy, doe eyed and slightly shorter than him stood before him, holding a large pizza box.

“Hi, are you Baekhyun?” he asked.

His voice was surprisingly deep. Baekhyun decided he wanted to hear more of it.

“Ah no, I’m his roommate, did he order pizza?” he lied.

“Yes, he told me to personally deliver it? Is he not here?”

“He’s always like this...don’t worry I’ll pay you, how much?”

“It’s $7, thanks.”

Baekhyun was sure the pizza he ordered was priced more than $10. Nevertheless, he took out some change from the back pocket of his jeans and started counting.

“Um, can you deliver this to him aswell.”

Baekhyun looked up to see a brown envelope.

Confused, he asked “What’s this for?”

“ Oh it’s just some coupons, it’s his 25^th order with us so I’m supposed to give rewards.”

“Ah ok will do. Thank you so much.” He said grabbing the envelope.

“Thank you sir.” He politely bowed.

“Oh you don’t have to call me sir just call me Ba–” ‘ why did I say that’ “ -rista from the coffee shop opposite Papa John’s”

The smaller guy laughed softly; his lips turned into a heart and so did Baekhyun’s eyes.

“Ok Barista from the coffee shop opposite Papa John’s, I’m Kyungsoo. I think I’ll be seeing you more often it’s nearly final exams season.” he said smiling.

Baekhyun beamed his smile widely and gave him the change in return for the pizza.

“Tell me about it, I still need that job though. I’m sort of broke.”

“Same here. Thanks again for paying for your roommate.”

“It’s fine, he’s kind of ty. I’ll see you around!”

Kyungsoo laughed once more before he turned back.

Baekhyun waved and closed the door as Kyungsoo left on his scooter.

‘Great, now I’ll just have to get a job as a barista in the coffee shop opposite Papa John’s.’

 

 

He looked at his phone.
