Foreword
Yerim’s eyes followed his body language, how Myungsoo’s hand down on his own thigh and he swallowed heavily before giving a non-sincere smile. ‘’It’s a long story.’’
‘’I love long stories,’’ Yerim heard herself say more or less realizing it. Myungsoo glanced at her and sighed.
‘’It’s a long story that I’ve never told anybody. No one knows it, except for those who were part of it.’’
‘’Are you sure it’s good to keep it that way, Myungsoo? It seems that it’s paining you a lot. Sharing makes it easier, they say. And well, I consider myself a good listener.’’
‘’Are you sure you want to hear it?’’ Myungsoo asked and Yerim gave a relaxed laugh.
‘’Well, the next bus taking me back home won’t leave for a couple of hours, so time is all I have. Only if you want to, I’d love to hear all of it.’’
Myungsoo took a deep breath and a long look at the rows of tombstones in front of them. It looked like his eyes were scanning every tiniest details, and it took him a while before he spoke.

A/N:
There is a story behing this one shot. Back in junior high our school had a writing contest. I was given four empty pages and two hours to write. Fictional texts were not recommended, but I did a fictional story anyway as that's what I was used to the most. A few weeks later a famous actor and writer visited our school. He had read all the teachers' favorite texts and was there to announce the winners. Even after ignoring my teacher's advice my name was called the first, and I walked to the front to shake his hand and receive his signed book in front of the whole school.
I found the four-page long story a few years later while I was cleaning my room, and that's how I got the inspiration to this fanfic. This story has the same type of idea as the text I wrote in two hours in junior high, but I wanted to make it a lot bigger. And as the result, The Miserable Case Of Lee Sungyeol was born.
It took me almost a year to complete the story as I ended up forgetting about the fic and suffering various stages of writer's block.
(It's still not entirely completed, but I thought that posting the foreword will push me to finish it fast.)
