Seoljeong is life

A Lover's Fight

Today would be the day, Hyejeong repeated in her mind over and over again. Walking to a friend’s house never seem so nerve-wrecking. Why was she suddenly so nervous to approach a longtime friend who she had known all her life? Was God playing tricks on her? Hyejeong stopped her slow pace of walking to kick an innocent tiny pebble that was somehow blocking her way.

Hyejeong desperately needed time to think, why was her heart acting all funny? Why was her body getting all fuzzy and warm at the thought of her longtime friend? This was wrong, South Korea declared this was wrong, but why did it feel so right? But either way, time wasn’t on her side today so she would have to think fast, if she didn’t want to keep her friend waiting for a longtime.

Sitting on the first rock that allowed her room to sit, was quite dumb, but Hyejeong was just too nervous. She never experienced a crush like feeling before. Sure she had celebrity crushes as a kid, but they didn’t mean anything to her anymore. She was on a roller-coaster that seem to always go on around and around, never showing any sign that the ride would end anytime soon. Her love for her friend was on a whole new level of crushes. But there Hyejeong sat, on the most comfortable looking rock located in a now empty park, but soon tourist and children would be flooding in as soon as the clock hit 2am. Hyejeong couldn’t help but admire the tree’s that have been alive longer then she has, yet they still looked as young as a newborn baby. Tree’s aged, Hyejeong knew that, but these trees in the park never seem to age, they seem to grow younger and younger each passing day.

Hyejeong admired the orange and yellow coated leaves that hung onto the trees skinny branches, they looked almost like icicles hanging on to a house roof, lighting up the sky with its transparent patterns. Were they always this beautiful? Hyejeong mumbled to herself. Oh, how she wished she could stay longer, but she needed to leave, her crush awaited her arrival, for how long? Hyejeong didn’t seem to know the answer but she knew she didn’t have much time.

Letting out the tenth sigh of the day, Hyejeong forced her body to get up. Only to stumble on the ground with a painful groan. Nobody helped, because nobody was there expect for Hyejeong and the autumn trees. Moving her left leg was easy, but her right leg was a whole new level of hard. Hyejeong could still feel the pain that seem to always circulate around her right leg, every time she tried to move her leg to sit down, stand up, or even climb up a flight of stairs. Walking was hard, but it was manageable, Hyejeong didn’t even want to think of what would happen if she tried to run at full speed.

Hyejeong’s regretful past shot through her mind as she remembered how she even broke her right leg in the first place. Hyejeong wanted to blame her crush, but honestly it wasn’t fair for her crush, Hyejeong was the one to blame, not all the way but still somewhat her fault. She remembered how she heard her crush talking about liking athletic guys, when they were in high school. Although Hyejeong technically didn’t qualify as a “guy” she wouldn’t let gender stereotypes stop her from pursuing her love.

Hyejeong had gone to the gym every day to try to bulk up a little bit in order to get her crush to notice her. Thinking about this motivation today made Hyejeong laugh. Why did she have to get her crush to notice her, if they hung out almost every day? Her crush obviously noticed her, so what was Hyejeong trying to achieve in high school? But anyway, Hyejeong had tried climbing a large tree with thick branches for fun at the exact park she was located in right now. Climbing was a skill Hyejeong had inherited from her father, for he used to be a mountain climber. Climbing the thick tree was easy for the branches were easy to grab and sturdy enough to hang on to.

Unfortunately Hyejeong accidently let her right foot slip off the tree, resulting in her to fall right to the bottom of the cement ground. Hyejeong didn’t exactly remember if she had landed head first or leg, but she was pretty sure she had landed on her leg. Hyejeong did remember people surrounding her with worried expressions plastered on their faces, as they stared down on her. All the faces that stared at her were unknown to her, for she has never even seen those people in her life. But she did see one face before she had out in pain. Kim Seolhyun, the girl she saw, the love of her life was there when she had fallen.

Hyejeong was informed she had woken up 5 days after the accident, there she laid in the hospital bed with an uncomfortable hospital gown placed on her, as a female doctor examined her broken right leg. She remembered the doctor saying “your knee bone is broken but we should be able to put your bone back in place, with surgery. If you decide to do the surgery just know you will be placed in a cast for 4-8 months due to your patella being dislocated but also your leg will need at least 6 years total for a full recovery.”

“I would like to do the surgery as soon as possible please.” Hyejeong remembered saying those 12 words to the doctor without hesitation. Hyejeong didn’t want to live with a broken leg forever, but she could bear with a healing leg for a couple of years.

Hyejeong also remembered asking the doctor who had brought her here. After all someone had to have called the hospital, for Hyejeong to end up where she was now. The doctor had replied with a name that sent Hyejeong’s heart to almost suffer a heart attack right in front of the doctor. “Kim Seolhyun.” That name, Hyejeong thought. She loved the fact that her crush was the one to bring her here, but she also loved the fact that Seolhyun had stayed with her throughout the time she was unconscious for 5 whole days. Why didn’t Seolhyun stay the whole time? Why hadn’t Seolhyun stayed while she woke up? To this day Hyejeong never asked, it felt rude to ask. After all wasn’t it obvious Seolhyun had better things to do then stare at Hyejeong for 5 whole days.

Hyejeong also remembered how after her surgery had been finished, and her cast was placed on her right leg, Hyejeong couldn’t help but notice how numb her leg had been. She couldn’t even feel the cast go in. She didn’t feel the cast at all until 6 days after the surgery had taken place. But no matter what Hyejeong couldn’t get Seolhyun out of her mind, she was everywhere in Hyejeong’s eyes. Sometimes Hyejeong would feel Seolhyun’s presence even though she was 100% sure she was the only one at home.

She was 18 when Seolhyun had stolen her heart. She broke her leg at 19, now she was 23. A year older then Seolhyun, but she had been friends with Seolhyun since Hyejeong was 5 and Seolhyun was 4. It’s been 5 years since Hyejeong has had a crush on Seolhyun, and yet Hyejeong still hasn’t confessed her feelings to Seolhyun. 5 whole years, with no progress in life at all.

They had first met at this very park Hyejeong was sitting in, Seoul Park. A park of memories. This park didn’t lie, Seoul Park really was a place of memories. The park was a fascinating place to relax your mind and heart. Somehow the two kids had been able to play with each other back then despite Hyejeong’s family being middle class, almost on the poor side, while Seolhyun’s family was a powerful, and wealthy family to the whole entire South Korea.

Hyejeong had never gone to Seolhyun’s house before in their whole entire friendship life. But at least Seolhyun wasn’t selfish and close minded, she was completely the opposite of her parents. Maybe that’s what made Hyejeong fall heads over heels for Seolhyun. Recalling past memories were both a pain and blessing to Hyejeong. So much had happened in their life, they were in college now, but yet Hyejeong was still in love with Seolhyun. Today would be the day, Hyejeong thought. Hyejeong would confess her love to Seolhyun, even if their love would never be accepted by South Korea, that didn’t waver Hyejeong’s motivation to earn Seolhyun’s love. She felt that she could go against society if Seolhyun was by her side.

Hyejeong had come up with a plan before she started out on her journey to confess her love, but for some weird reason, Hyejeong couldn’t quite remember what her plan even was. Her mind was completely blank, but the fall trees seem to soothe her mind to remember the past but not the present. Either way, Hyejeong felt much calmer then she did this morning. Hyejeong didn’t exactly know why out of all the days in the world, she choose this day, maybe it was because the longer she waited, the more her heart moved at an un-normal speed. The sooner the better thought Hyejeong.

Walking out of the park full of calming trees was hard, mostly because the moment she left the park her heart started beating at an un-normal speed, once again. Hyejeong knew that her poor heart, wouldn’t be calm any time soon unless she confessed her love to Seolhyun.

The walk to Seolhyun’s mansion was quite creepy, mostly because a bunch of wealthy people kept halting their walk just to stare at her, and murmur something to the closest person next to them. Probably something about how poor she looked, or how she didn’t belong in this block. Hyejeong just kept on walking, she didn’t care. She was called all these words in middle school through high school, nobody bothered to care in college, but Seolhyun always did. No one ever messed with Seolhyun due to her high profile of accomplishments and family background, but Seolhyun never took advantage of her background. Seolhyun was a humble person living in a selfish world. Hyejeong definitely admired Seolhyun for that, from head to toe.

Hyejeong took a deep breath as she finally stood in front of the biggest house on the block of South Korea, Seoul. The house was absolutely beautiful, even better then beautiful. Words couldn’t describe how fascinating this house was. Imagine how it would be like in the inside. This mansion made all the other wealthy houses look like tiny apartments. How amazing, Hyejeong couldn’t help but stare in awe at the household, even though she was on the other side of the golden gate, of this amazing mansion. Realizing that there was a speaker attached to the front gate door bell, Hyejeong unconsciously her dry lips, at the thought of having to talk to the most powerful man on earth. Even their maids were rich in gold.

But a day where the rich loved the poor as a family? That would be the day indeed. Hyejeong couldn’t help but imagine, after all there was a 1/10 chance such love would ever happen. Hyejeong hesitantly pressed the doorbell, in hopes that no one was home, so she wouldn’t have to face anyone or confess her love. But also Hyejeong was hoping someone would answer so she could finally get her heart to settle. But what if Seolhyun rejected her? Would her heart even be able to beat again? After suffering such a heartbreak? No Hyejeong, you have to think positive, at least you had the chance to confess your love to Seolhyun, even if you do get harshly rejected. But such thinking brought Hyejeong down, what if Seolhyun really would reject her? Would Seolhyun ever look at her the same way again?

A crackle could be heard from the other side of the gate, as a manly voice greeted Hyejeong. The voice could most likely belong to their most trusted butler; Park Chanyeol, or Mr. Kim himself. She remembered Seolhyun describing how her house worked and everything when they were in high school. But they were both in Seoul University now, so who knew what had changed about this house? As Hyejeong stepped closer to the speaker so she could speak her intention of coming in to the household, Hyejeong could actually see even more of the house then she could when she was a couple of inches away from the speaker. The mansion was amazing, but the outside was magnificent. There was a huge pond with water that dripped out of an unknown water hole. It was like seeing Victoria Falls in South Korea. In a house to. The mist surrounding the pond was absolutely beautiful and mysterious. Hyejeong was already in awe of the pond of the mansion, but she had to realize the pond was only a tiny little aspect of the mansion, who knew what other beautiful gems were in the making of this household?

As Hyejeong continued to stare at the beautiful pond, Hyejeong started thinking about what in the world she did to have such a beautiful friends like Seolhyun. What blessing did she do to deserve someone like Seolhyun? But yet, here Hyejeong stood, in front of the Kim’s mansion. About to speak to the most powerful butler on earth, or the most powerful man on earth. Hyejeong took another deep breath as she snapped her attention back to the speaker that was attached to the golden gate. “Um, Hello sir. I’m Shin Hyejeong, friends with Seolhyun. I just came over to hang out with Seolhyun….if that’s okay with you of course.” Hyejeong spoke with caution, after all one mistake could possibly end her whole entire existence to the Kim family.

A loud click on the door could be heard on the other side of the golden gate, which made Hyejeong step back in a little bit of fear. Soon the golden gate opened in a slow manner. Well, Hyejeong thought, maybe they wanted to make an entrance to a poor person as grand as their mansion was. Or maybe they just didn’t want to serve a poor person in a fast manner. Hyejeong let out at least her 30th sigh today, she just couldn’t think properly anymore. Never in her dear life, did she imagine going inside the Kim’s mansion. But what could she do? She never imagined meeting Seolhyun either.

The moment Hyejeong stepped onto the other side of the gate, Hyejeong just straight up wanted to run away as fast as she could. The mansion’s outside was just too overwhelming. The mansion made all her years of practice of confessing her love seem useless. Why did she even bother? Her heart was barely even beating anymore. Life was just too hard. Now just seeing the mansion’s outside with her brown mocha colored eyes, was absolutely terrifying. Hyejeong didn’t seem confident in confessing her love anymore. What made her think she would ever have the chance to be with the most powerful women on earth? All this was just wishful thinking.

Just imagine a girl who was born from one of the most powerful and wealthy family in the world, and was dating a girl who was born from a middle class family, that had a barely healed leg. Especially living in the world where no one would ever accept their love. All this would be amazing, to bad South Korea would never accept them, or their families. A world that actually accepted everyone for who they were would just be a beautiful, cruel fantasy. But this wasn’t a fantasy. This was real life.

Hyejeong looked around one last time at the beautiful outside of the mansion, before preparing herself to enter the insides of the fascinating mansion. Was she really going to do all this just to earn love? Was she really going to deny the laws of her country? There was no backing down now, she was already inside the mansion.

The insides of the mansion was even more overwhelming of beauty then the outside. The inside made the outside looked like nothing but trash. Hyejeong couldn’t believe such house could ever exist. But the first thing Hyejeong noticed about the mansion besides the household’s beauty, was that there was so many stairs. Stairs were located everywhere. There were elevators to, but Hyejeong doubt that anyone would let her use such thing. Did rich people like walking that much? Were they that into exercising? There were at least 5 stories to this mansion, at least 5. Everything was perfectly proportional to one another. Everything was lined perfectly well, not even a tiny mistake could be spotted. Hyejeong tried her best to remain pokerfaced, but she was definitely in awe, and horror. Considering the fact that she had no idea where Seolhyun was even located in this household, like she could be all the way on the top floor, and Hyejeong would have to walk all those stairs just to get there. Her poor two legs wouldn’t even survive the first few flights of stairs, especially her right leg.

“Hyejeong?” A sweet angelic voice could be heard, as Hyejeong’s eyes had to squint to see through the bright polished walls to make out a girl who looked almost as tall as her, but not quite.

“Seolhyun!” A sense of relief could be felt through her entire body after coming to the realization that she wouldn’t have to climb 50 flights of stairs. Hyejeong could make out the simple outlines of Seolhyun’s simple yet gorgeous clothes. Of course a girl as beautiful as Seolhyun could make any simple clothing look like the best and highest rated fashion brand on earth. Hyejeong knew Seolhyun carved the spotlight as much as Hyejeong wanted Seolhyun as hers. Today would be the day if I find out if fate wants us to be together, Hyejeong thought.

A pair of arms wrapped around Hyejeong’s waist line as Seolhyun buried her angelic beauty in Hyejeong’s perfume scented neck. Hyejeong could definitely feel her heart once again start beating at a fast paced speed, but this time Hyejeong couldn’t help but actually be able to feel her heart. In a nerve-wrecking way. Hyejeong didn’t quite understood why out of everyone in South Korea, cupid decided to shoot her in the heart to fall in love with the most beautiful and richest women on earth, and to top off such coincidence, Seolhyun was her very first and only childhood friend. Was cupid playing a cruel joke on her? After all if Seolhyun says no, then what was the point of having Hyejeong love Seolhyun anyway? Couldn’t they just stay as friends? Or was she just playing herself?

“I’m so glad you actually came DongDong!” Hyejeong blushed at the mention of her personal childhood nickname. Only her closest friends used this nickname, namely only Seolhyun. The reason this nickname was invented in the first place was because, if you said Hyejeong really fast, you would soon find yourself saying Hyedong. Which eventually changed to DongDong. "I was worried you wouldn't come for some reason, but I guess now my worry can subside now." A pair of straight perfectly lined white teeth could be seen as Seolhyun's mouth curved into a cute dimpled like smile on her face. Hyejeong couldn't help but feel herself dive into an eternal wonderland as she continued to stare at Seolhyun's perfectly natural smile. How could teeth be so perfect?

"Yeah, I feel like I just accomplished something impossible, mainly getting access to come into your humble home. But seriously, just talking to Chanyeol alone was nerve racking already, if I ever have to talk to your dad, I think I'll just stay home next time. I would like to keep myself in one piece you know?" Both pairs let out a knowing laugh as they nodded their head in agreement to what Hyejeong was trying to say.

"Well I guess, you'll just have to stick with me, so I can be the knight in shining armor to you!" Seolhyun teased, while she stuck out her tongue at Hyejeong to show she was only joking.

Hyejeong let out a heartful laugh, as she let herself forget that she was standing in front of her crush, while inside the biggest mansion on earth. She let herself think that there they were, just the two of them playing in the park together, as if they were little kids again, sharing joke after joke, and at times teasing each other, to make one another laugh. Hyejeong didn't want their moment to ever end, even if Seolhyun says no to her confession, she didn't want Seolhyun to ignore her or hate her. If no was the answer, then Hyejeong could just hope that everything would still be the same between them.

After calming down a little bit, Hyejeong took both of Seolhyun hands and held them against hers. "Seolhyun, let's go down to Seoul Park for a little bit, you know, where we met? I think we can create even more memories there." Hyejeong held Seolhyun's hands a bit together, as she anxiously awaited for Seolhyun's answer to her idea.

"Of course I want to go down there! Let me grab my coat, I'll be right back!" Seolhyun joyfully jumped as she agreed with Hyejeong's idea, while Hyejeong breathed a sigh of relief and success. Maybe things might go her way after all. Hyejeong watched as Seolhyun ran all those flights of stairs to wherever her coat was located, and her heart just dropped in horror, as she once again stared at all the stairs in this house. Maybe stairs wouldn't be so scary, that is if she could walk them normally on some stairs without seeming like she would fall over any minute, thought Hyejeong. Just a couple of more years before your leg heels Hyejeong, just a couple of more years.

Hyejeong could hear a loud tapping of heels running down the stairs at almost full speed, which made Hyejeong incredibly worried for Seolhyun's safety. "Whoa there tiger, slow down. You might hurt yourself." Hyejeong tried to sound casual as she voiced out her worry torwards Seolhyun, after seeing the girl run at her with full speed, with heels on.

"Aw is Hyejeong worried about me? That's so sweet of you!" Seolhyun jumped in Hyejeong's awaiting arms as she teased Hyejeong about Hyejeong worrying about her. They knew each other since they were children, it was no surprise they acted like lovers, and Hyejeong enjoyed every moment of it. But today would be the day where Hyejeong would make Seolhyun's hers, if she accepted of course.

"Alright, alright you win, may I please put you down? My arms feel like they might break off any moment. So do my legs, and I already broke one before, I don't need or want to break another one." Hyejeong voiced out as she struggled to support herself and Seolhyun at the same time. Her arms and legs felt like jelly, despite the fact Seolhyun only weighed around 42 kilograms in life.

Seolhyun pouted which made Hyejeong almost faint from all the cuteness Seolhyun was giving her. If Seolhyun continued to abuse her cuteness, Hyejeong was seriously going to strangle herself, because she just couldn't believe one human could look so adorably cute and y at the same time. "DongDong! You are so mean! I'm not that heavy!"

Seolhyun eventually hopped off of Hyejeong's jelly like arms as she noticed that Hyejeong was losing her breath. "No Seolhyun, I didn't mean it that way, I just meant that I'm getting weak so I can't always carry you around, when my leg completely heals, I'll get stronger so I can carry you any place you want." Hyejeong did feel a bit guilty about not clarifying her answer the first time, but they both knew that even if they did call each other names, it was for fun and not bullying.

They made their way out of the mansion, hand in hand, as they were greeted with a safe trip from Chanyeol and a maid who Hyejeong did not know the name of, yet. Making their way to the park was easily despite the fact that the sun was starting to set down and the sky was starting to turn dark. Still the breeze continued to do its job, while the tree's did theirs. People talked about them as they walked to the park, everyone knew who Seolhyun was obviously, but Hyejeong was willing to bet anything that the first thing they were thinking was, who's that poor looking girl holding hands with the daughter of the most richest and powerful man on earth? Both girls passed the murmurs as if they were nothing but a speck of dirt on your palm. Just a tiny flick would send the piece of dirt flying through the air.

Finally, both girls had approached the park with a light smile on their faces. Their smile grew over time as they continued to feel the warm weather the autumn trees and wind gave. Hyejeong peeped over at Seolhyun's closed eyes as she looked for the perfect timing to say her confession. Hyejeong knew Seolhyun wasn't a tree lover like her, but Hyejeong was quite determine to have Seolhyun love tree's for some reason. Maybe it was because of how beautiful the tree's look in the spring and fall. It also just happens to be so that today was November 7th, and what better way than to see the fall tree's with the definition of beauty herself? Namely Seolhyun. But Hyejeong would definetly find a way to confess her love.

Walking down Seoul park in a windy like afternoon made both girls feel light-hearted, just watching the tree leaves dance along one another, wearing their orange, yellow dresses. The trees were a beautiful sight to see. Swaying from one side to another every time the chilly wind blew. The trees didn't seem to mind one bit. Their roots dug into the muddy strong ground as they bravely went against the winds blazing power. The trees performed an outstanding performance for the two girls as they walked hand in hand through the park. Only the fall seasons could the trees give off a comforting dance, urging lovers to dance along with them. To top of such feeling, the fall weather also gave up a house warming smell. The air was always filled with smell that when you got a whiff of the delicious smell, you would think you had eaten a luxurious meal. Lovers or friends would come out in the fall just to witness such a loveable sight. But like seasons everything fades away, but they do come back, at some point. Waiting another year where leaves would fall down, covered in their orange, yellow dresses. The trees would call to you in hopes that you would dance along with them. To confess your love to someone even if it meant being harshly rejected.

Both girls found their way to a park bench, and were just about to sit down, when Seolhyun suddenly starting brushing away all the fall leaves that had just happen to fall or float to this very park bench. Hyejeong didn't exactly see anything wrong with sitting on a couple of leaves, and she was about to ask, when Seolhyun suddenly started kicking the fall leaves as far away as possible from both herself, and Hyejeong. From far away, someone might have thought Seolhyun was just playing with some leaves and kicking them around, but from Hyejeong's point of view, she was doing quite the opposite from what others would have thought.

Seeing that Seolhyun was quite annoyed by the fall leaves landing on the bench, despite Seolhyun's hard work of brushing all of the leaves off the bench, Hyejeong figured she should take Seolhyun as far as possible from this park bench, it was quite obvious the wind loved blowing leaves on this park bench, and that Hyejeong and Seolhyun were nothing but strangers trespassing into one's property. Hyejeong took Seolhyun by the hhands as she carefully guided the annoyed Seolhyun away from the park bench and around a thick tree, where no one could see them unless they wanted to be seen. This tree was special to Hyejeong in way, this tree was the exact tree where she climbed and fell, breaking her right leg of course. But Hyejeong could see that this tree was still growing, despite the tree being a outlier to the others. This tree was indeed very special to Hyejeong, and she hoped that she could make this tree just as special to Seolhyun, as it is to her.

Hyejeong tried to brighten up the mood by hugging and randomly teasing Seolhyun at times, she knew that Seolhyun liked to be clean. They both did, Seolhyun just happened to be a bit more cleaner than Hyejeong. Suddenly Hyejeong's heart started going crazy again as she held Seolhyun by her shoulders. Something just told her that it was time. It was yes or no, a confession that would change their relationship to love or hate. She looked Seolhyun square in the eye, the weather was perfect, the tree's weren't swaying as rapidly as before, and the wind was less noisy and calm. This moment was just perfect. Hyejeong could sense Seolhyun's confusion as Hyejeong continued to stare at Seolhyun's brown golden eyes.

Hyejeong took a deep breath before she finally said it. After all these years she finally confessed. "Seolhyun-ah. I need to tell you something so just please listen. Okay?" Hyejeong continued after seeing Seolhyun nod her head in agreement, her hands were still on Seolhyun's shoulders. Nobody could see this but them. They were about to create another memory under the tree, whether it was a good one or not. "Seolhyun, I know our world will never allow this, but it would be amazing if they did. I know you grew up living in a proper house with a proper family. But I just wanted you to know that I care about you, a little bit too deeply for my heart to handle. I know this isn't allowed in our country, but who cares? You give me strength Seolhyun, I...love...you, so much. Will you be my girlfriend despite my families status and our countries laws? Hyejeong took a deep breath after her confession as she dared to look into Seolhyun's now un-readable face. What was Seolhyun thinking?

A moment of silence struck the two. It wasn't their usual relaxing silence, no this one just made the atmosphere turn cloudy and despondent. Hyejeong's heart crushed to bits as she sensed Seolhyun's answer to her confession. It had to be a no. Even the weather predicted her answer was a no. Hyejeong's breathing stopped for a full 30 seconds, as she felt her chest burn and heart crush into little bits and pieces. She felt tears well to her eyes, but she did her best not to show them. She blamed her tears on the drip drops of rain, as they landed on her cold cheek. Seolhyun however was still silent, with her head down. "Seolhyun! We should go it's raining, listen to me for a second okay? I'm sorry I don't want this confession to change anything in our friendship? Can we please just forget my confession ever happened?" Hyejeong was now glancing worriedly up at the dark clouded sky, the rain wasn't going to seize itself anytime soon.

Hyejeong glanced back at Seolhyun in concern for both her and herself, as the rain poured even harder. This had to be the biggest rainfall in South Korea history. Hyejeong knees were coated with wet mud, but she couldn't really complain, Seolhyun's pants were just as dirty as hers. Right whe Hyejeong was about to open to speak about the rain once more...a pair of lips landed on Hyejeong's own lips, as Hyejeong who was rather surprised with the sudden kiss, but was also grateful for what Seolhyun had just done. Hyejeong was confused of course, but she kissed back anyway, after all, it wasn't everyday where Seolhyun would suddenly just kiss Hyejeong and accept her confession either. Hyejeong was going to take advantage of this moment even if it meant getting sick in this pouring rain.

A memory was indeed made that day, a kiss that so happened to make their love even more stronger. Since the kiss, Hyejeong couldn't stop smiling, neither could Seolhyun. They had become more smitten with each other these past few days, and nobody noticed a thing. One day Hyejeong wanted to do something really special for Seolhyun, Hyejeong knew she wasn't rich like Seolhyun, but Hyejeong had definitely saved enough money in order to take Seolhyun out on a romantic and fancy dinner night.

Hyejeong took all the money out of her savings account, as she made her way to her living room in her apartment, and was immediately greeted by her girlfriend with a kiss on the cheek. Yup, Seolhyun definitely knew how to make her smile, as she immediately felt her cheeks curve into a wide grin. "While, good afternoon to you as well Seolhyun, so I was thinking maybe we should you know, go out on a drive and possibly get some dinner as well?" Hyejeong already knew the answer was yes, but still, why not be polite and ask? People could surprise you at times.

"Of course I want to go out on a dinner date with you! Let me get my coat real quick!" With that said, Seolhyun rushed to the room they shared together at times, but also remembering to press a warm kiss on Hyejeong's lips. Hyejeong took a look around her apartment, while waiting for Seolhyun to get her coat. Hyejeong couldn't help but admire how far they had come. Seolhyun had moved in with Hyejeong a week before, with her fathers and mothers consent of course. Hyejeong's parents had died when she was 7, so Hyejeong didn't really have anyone to depend on, but at that time, she had already met Seolhyun. Seolhyun had always been with her ever since, although Mr. Kim, and Mrs. Kim obviously didn't see Hyejeong as a family member, because of her poor unwanted status. But she wasn't an absolute stranger either, she was close enough to at least be able to have Seolhyun move in with her. Despite the fact that Hyejeong lived in an apartment and not a mansion. So an accomplishment there at least.

"Okay ready!" Out came running a delighted Seolhyun as she impatiently waited for Hyejeong to tie her shoes, so they could hurry out. Seolhyun never liked being trapped inside any household, she liked the free nature, and thanks to Hyejeong's determination of having Seolhyun love trees, Seolhyun was able to love nature just the same. But also from all the years of having to be trapped in her mansion was quite tiring despite the fact that the mansion was huge. Even larger than the word huge. For some reason, Seolhyun just found Hyejeong's apartment to be much more comfortable and less overwhelming. Maybe it was because Hyejeong's home was what home really was, a comfortable place where you felt free and safe in. Seolhyun had found home. She had missed out on the definition of home for plenty of unforgiving years, but after being with Hyejeong, everything had changed. Seolhyun finally felt as if she belonged somewhere.

Both girls were dressed in simple clothing's, but both did make a reasonable effort to look nice, which wasn't very hard. Seolhyun could feel her jaw drop as Hyejeong pulled into the parking lot of one of the most romantic dinners in South Korea, sSeoul. The price was reasonable but it was still on the pricey side. Seolhyun didn't mind paying, but she didn't even bring her wallet, because Hyejeong had told her that dinner was on her, and that she didn't need to spend a single penny. Seolhyun had just thought they were getting dinner at a burger shop or something, but this?! Seolhyun didn't want to be rude, but did Hyejeong even have enough money for this?

Jung Sik Dang, the menu read. Both girls were seated across from each other, as they did their best to ignore the looks of curiosity and envy as commoners stared at the two. Hyejeong didn't seem to mind, but she did sense Seolhyun's hostility, so she privately asked the waiter to move them to a more private room. Sure enough the couple were taken to a private room where they could have their dinner in peace. "Go ahead and choose whatever you like Seolhyun, I want to do something special for you. For once." Hyejeong told Seolhyun as she sensed Seolhyun was eye communicating with her about what she should get and so.

After they had ordered their food, the couple sat in comfortable silence, hands were interlocked under the table to show their everlasting love. They both couldn't stop smiling. No one had suspect them as lovers, despite this restaurants being known for its romantic quotes and status. Finally sensing that silence couldn't be comfortable forever, Seolhyun initiated a conversation. "So Hyejeong, why today? What's so special about today? I mean like thank you of course, but seriously, what's so special today?"

"Seolhyun honestly, I don't know why out of all the days on earth why today. But I just felt like it. You know that feeling you get when your heart just tells you that today is the day? I get that feeling all the time whenever I'm with you, and I'm grateful for it. Without this feeling, would we even be together? I trust my heart as muchas I trust you. I love you Kim Seolhyun." Hyejeong smiled at her words, after seeing Seolhyun smile her cute dimpled cheeks after hearing her lover's sweet words.

"I love you to Hyejeong, thank you for everything." Seolhyun responded honestly.

"Food is here!" A cheerful female waiter greeted the couple with the food they had picked out from their menu. After the waiter had left the pair alone, Hyejeong and Seolhyun both started digging into their food. The food was absolutely wonderful, everything about the food was just 5 star perfection. The couple chatted on and on even after they had both finished their food, every moment was perfect to them. They only saw each other in their eyes, and only needed each other. Love was a powerful emotion indeed. The couple was absolutely certain that as long as South Korea didn't find out, nobody could tear them apart from each other.

Hyejeong had woken up early despite the clock only showing 4am in the morning. Hyejeong didn't usually wake up this early, but her stomach just started having these uneasy feelings which eventually lead to her having to wake up. Her stomach wasn't in pain or anything, but it just felt uneasy. As if something was completely wrong. Seolhyun had slept at her own house last night, but they had arranged plans to meet up at Seoul park at 2am in the afternoon. The weather was supposed to be sunny, looking out the window, Hyejeong saw no signs of the sun coming up anytime soon, but then again, it was only 4am in the morning.

Hyejeong was pretty sure that she wouldn't be able to fall asleep again, so she decided to do her morning routine. Which took half in hour, the clock was almost 5am, so Hyejeong just decided to have a light breakfast and watch some Korean dramas. Hyejeong  the TV, and was met with one of her favorite dramas; Love Rain. It just so happened to be showing a break up scene in the show, which caused Hyejeong's stomach to feel even worse. At this point Hyejeong was feeling seriously uncomfortable and she didn't even know the reason why. Turning off the TV for some reason made Hyejeong's stomach feel a bit better, but still held that uneasy feeling that made Hyejeong really uncomfortable. Hopefully by the time 2am hit, her stomach would be feeling much better. But for now Hyejeong just felt really uncomfortable, almost as if she was experiencing a cramp for the very first time.

Hyejeong grabbed her phone, in hopes that maybe texting Seolhyun would help her stomach. Hyejeong had always felt happy around Seolhyun anyway. After texting Seolhyun a good morning, Hyejeong tossed her phone to the side, as she rubbed her now throbbing head while lying down on the sofa, in hopes that if she took a little nap her stomach and head would feel a bit better. By the time Hyejeong woke up there was absolutely no text message reply from Seolhyun, or any sign that she had even read her message when Hyejeong checked her phone for the time. The time however was 1am, meaning that Hyejeong had to get up and wash her face once again. After doing everything, and dressed in nice simple clothing, Hyejeong made her way to the park, where she would meet Seolhyun, and they would spend the night together. At least that was the plan. Hyejeong's stomach was still feeling uncomfortable. But her head was a bit better.

When Hyejeong approached the park, she couldn't help but notice how gloomy and lonely the trees looked. They looked like someone who had just been left behind without an explanation. They just looked so depressed. Not even their bright colored dresses could bring happiness in the trees. How weird though Hyejeong. Why were the trees so gloomy today? The sky was gloomy as well. There was no sign of rain though, which was weird, but it made the atmosphere incredibly downcast and murky. Hyejeong ignored these feelings that were starting to creep its way into Hyejeong's heart, as she increased her speed of walking towards the tree, where Seolhyun had said the day before, where they would meet up at.

Hyejeong felt herself unconsciously smile, as she inched closer and closer to Seolhyun's figure that just happened to be waiting for her in the gloomy weather, and next to their memory lane tree. "Seolhyun!" Hyejeong yelled, just to give Seolhyun a heads up before she started running at full speed towards Seolhyun.

"Hey, Hyejeong." Seolhyun's lack of enthusiasm wavered Hyejeong's spirit a little, but she ignored it. Maybe Seolhyun was affected by the weather a little bit. But still, Hyejeong was really worried.

"Oh, so...how have you been? Are you okay?" Hyejeong didn' t want to seem nosy, but she also wanted to be able to cheer Seolhyun up.

"Yes, I'm fine Hyejeong, just a bit tired." Seolhyun lazily admitted to her lover.

Hyejeong could sense Seolhyun was lying to her, so without meaning to, Hyejeong started asking even more questions without the knowledge of each question she asked, was like a ticking bomb inside Seolhyun's brain. "But you seem tired. Do you want to go home and rest? Are you sure that's all? Can you tell me? Can you open up to me? Want me to call off the date for today? Do you-"

"HYEJEONG JUST BE QUIET! If I don't tell you something, that doesn't mean I don't trust you okay! But since your so nosy, I'll tell you! My father found out about us, and he wants us to end it! I knew he would never accept us, but I thought you would be more careful, especially kissing me in front of the mansion, what were you thinking?! Hyejeong you have to understand that it's not just you and me in this world! We have people who watch us okay!" As Seolhyun continued with her rant, Hyejeong's heart broke into pieces of dust after hearing Seolhyun's harsh words. She hadn't meant to pry or anything, she was just worried. Did Seolhyun really feel this way?

Hyejeong's lip started to quiver but she turned her face to the side so Seolhyun didn't have to notice her tears starting to fall. She took a deep breath as she voiced out her thought "Seolhyun, stop." She looked at Seolhyun with her broken eyes. "Are...you...breaking up with me?" Hyejeong's mouth fell shut after saying the last words she ever wanted to ask Seolhyun.

Not trusting her voice to break, Seolhyun nodded her head, as she verified Hyejeong's question. "Please Hyejeong, this isn't easy for me either. My family will never accept us, or South Korea. You have to understand this Hyejeong. I have to make my family proud, not for my selfish needs, but for theirs. Thye raised me carefully in the cruel world, they gave me a roof under my head, and food when I wished for it. I owe them Hyejeong, and I can't make them happy if I'm with you. But don't take this wrong! I love you Hyejeong, I really do! It's just, I can only love you as a friend, not as a lover."

Hyejeong felt like her heart had just been plucked out of her chest and stepped on as she listened to Seolhyun's heartbreaking words. Did she really mean all these words? Hyejeong's mind was completely blank, so this was why her stomach had a uneasy feeling. Who would have though their love would end this way? It was common, a love that wasn't accepted, how could a love like that continue? Hyejeong should've known. But she didn't, or maybe she did. Hyejeong's didn't know. Not anymore at least. Hyejeong lowered her head, not wanting to meet Seolhyun's worried gaze, Hyejeong didn't know what to do. But she knew one thing, if she was stopping Seolhyun from pursuing her real happiness, then Hyejeong would let her go. Sure she would be alone, and possibaly depressed, but did that really matter? Hyejeong always put others before her, if she was a burden for Seolhyun, then Hyejeong would disappear.

Hyejeong took a shaky deep breath, the howling of the wind was getting stronger, her ears were beginning to twitch, but still, Hyejeong wouldn't look at Seolhyun. How could a day of love, destroy itself so fast? Was Hyejeong dreaming? She wished she was. But she wasn't. This was the cruel reality of real life. The cruel reality of not being accepted.

Hyejeong finally made skin contact by taking in Seolhyun's cold hands into her equally cold hands. Taking her final deep breath, Hyejeong finally spoke. "Seolhyun, I don't blame you. Not one bit. I just wish...things ended more differently. I understand you want to make your parents proud. If I have to leave the picture in order for you to pursue happiness. I will, Seolhyun, I'll let you go." With that said Hyejeong made her final statement come true, for she let go of Seolhyun's hands. Letting go of Seolhyun hands were like letting go her parents. She couldn't. No pain in her life could ever make up for this painful moment. Now Hyejeong really questioned cupid. Did cupid shoot her just to break her heart? Why her out of all people? Hyejeong didn't understand. She never would.

Seolhyun sensed that now should be the time to leave, so she looked Hyejeong square in the eye one last time. She wanted to memorize every feature of Hyejeong's beautiful face. Hyejeong never thought of herself as pretty, but Seolhyun disagreed with that completely. Hyejeong was absolutely beautiful and Seolhyun hoped that one day Hyejeong could see that. Taking a step back as she said her final words "Good bye Hyejeong, I wish you well." With that said, Hyejeong walked away from Hyejeong without a second glance. The rain started to pour as soon as Hyejeong could no longer see Seolhyun's figure. She didn't care, Hyejeong wished she hadn't come today at all. Her lips didn't quiver from the cold, but from the pain. Seolhyun had left her, because Hyejeong had let her go. She let the rain poor and poor, as Hyejeong took a final glance at the autumn trees, they were just as depressed as she was. Had they lost something to? Did they let go of something? Someone? Or were they feeling for her. Was she that confused that the trees had to display her emotions? Hyejeong didn't know. She didn't know anything anymore. Hyejeong took one final look at the direction Seolhyun came from, and walked the opposite direction, towards the place they once called home.

                                                                                         ***

A whole entire 2 weeks had passed from the break up, and Hyejeong still hadn't gotten over the heartbreak. No calls, no text messages from Seolhyun. There was absolutely nothing. They hadn't spoken since the breakup. They just lost all contact. Hyejeong didn't really mind. Her mind was a complete mess. She couldn't think or really do anything. Her mind was blank half the time, when she started something, she wouldn't be able to finish her project, because her mind would suddenly go blank. Hyejeong barely ate anymore. Skipping meals became a habit, but quenching her thirst wasn't a problem to Hyejeong. She drank almost every day.  Hyejeong would occasionally dream of Seolhyun at night, she would daydream about Seolhyun at times as well. Seolhyun was everywhere, and it was driving Hyejeong to her breaking point. Hyejeong wanted to scream at something, someone. But she had nothing. How could Seolhyun move on, and Hyejeong couldn't? Hyejeong was far from moving on.

One day, Hyejeong couldn't take the overwhelming sense of staying in her apartment forever, so she rushed out the door with a pair of jeans, checkered shirt, pony tied hair, and some white converse to top her simple clothing off. Hyejeong jumped in her car, and drove off while her mind was blank. She didn't exactly know where she was going, but all Hyejeong knew was that she needed to get out of her apartment. To many memories of Seolhyun was located in that very apartment. Hyejeong suddenly woke up from her daydream, as she slowed the car a little so she could get a better look of where she even drove to. Sure enough, Hyejeong had driven to where her love story first started, but also where her love story ended. The one and only; Seoul Park. Maybe it was by memory or instinct but Hyejeong always found herself coming here for no good reason at all. But todays weather was ok, the wind wasn't too loud, and no signs of rain could be seen. The trees seemed perfectly normal. Everything seemed fine, so did everybody. Everybody but Hyejeong.

Hyejeong decided to turn the corner to get a closer view of the fall trees, only to be met with another vehicle. Hyejeong didn't feel the impact at first. She didn't feel anything. She only felt pain when she realized that she was upside down with her car. Her head throbbed of pain, both of her legs couldn't move. Neither could her arms. Sirens could be heard, but Hyejeong couldn't make out anything else. Her vision out, so did her hearing. The only thing Hyejeong remembered was that she had whispered "I love you Kim Seolhyun."

2 days after the accident, Seolhyun was surfing the web for something to do. She was ultimately sad about the break up, but like her father and mother said, you had to move on in life. So that was exatcly what Seolhyun planned to do. While Seolhyun was looking through her web, she found an article about a car accident that had happened right outside of the Seoul Park borders. Seolhyun clicked on the article out of curiosity, and something in her stomach had told her to do it. Seolhyun skimmed through the article pretty fast, but she came to a halt when she read the name Shin Hyejeong. No, thought Seolhyun, this couldn't be her! It couldn't be. Hyejeong was a super safe driver. There was no way on earth, this could be her. But it was her. There was even a picture to prove so.

Seolhyun rushed down the many flights of stairs as she made her way to Seoul hospital. She had to get to Hyejeong. She ignored the calls from Chanyeol or any other servants from her household, as she barged out the front door, and hopped in her car. Driving away at careful speed, made Seolhyun go insane, she need to be at the hospital more quickly. Seolhyun needed to see Hyejeong badly. 5 minutes later, Seolhyun had arrived. Parking was no trouble for Seolhyun, as she found herself a spot quite easily. Running to the front desk at full speed, made Seolhyun lose her breath in talking, but she didn't care as she tried to wheeze the last bit of info about herself, so she could hurry up and see Hyejeong.

"Down the hall, turn right, first door on your left." Those had been the direction's Seolhyun had been given to see Hyejeong, everything about this moment was nerve racking. Seolhyun wasn't quite sure, how she was feeling, but she knew her feelings were nowhere near positive.

Seolhyun felt herself just fall into pieces when she feasted her golden brown eyes, onto her past lover's unconscious  form. Seolhyun couldn't help but think she was the cause of Hyejeong's accident. Maybe she was. Only Hyejeong would know. Seeing Hyejeong look so pale was absolutely traumatizing, her once bright tannish face, was now replaced by a face that almost blended in with the hospital bed sheets. A white cast coated in red was slung across Hyejeong's left arm. A gauze wrapped around her head, a freshy stitched and bandaged cut on her right cheek and a breathing tube protruding out of Hyejeng's mouth as she laid there, unconscious. No sign of moving, not even a bit. But when Seolhyun saw that there was coats of red burying it's way deep into the once white cast, Seolhyun burst into silent tears. She held by her left hand, to try to hush her increasing sobs. Blood, thought Seolhyun. Because of my decision.

Seolhyun cursed at herself for being so oblivious these past few days. She should have been trying to contact Hyejeong to show that her meaning of let's just stay as friends, is true. But no, she had completely cut off any communication with Hyejeong. She didn't send any calls or text messages to Hyejeong, nor did she receive any either. No calls, no hangouts, no nothing. Everything had changed when Hyejeong confessed her love to her, and she had accepted. But everything had changed after when she had walked out of Hyejeong's life.

Seolhyun moved an inch closer to Hyejeong's unconsious form, cautious to not knock anything over, which wasn't likely, but still. Each second, each step was like a stab in the heart for Seolhyun, as she inched her way closer to Hyejeong's sleeping form. Seeing Hyejeong in this form was terrifying. The sight just absolutely crush Seolhyun's already broken heart into a million pieces. Someone had fixed her heart, only to smash her heart because the design wasn't good enough. Seolhyun felt exactly like that at this very moment. There were just to many what if's running through Seolhyun's mind as she finally took a seat on the left of Hyejeong's hospital bed.

Tears started to spill out of her eyes once again, as Seolhyun firmly held Hyejeong's fragile pale hands that were laid next to her sleeping form, side by side. Seolhyun couldn't help but choke out  tiny whimper of pain from her heart because of how heartbreaking this sight was.  Hyejeong's hands were once as warm as the summer sun, but now, they were nothing but an icy breeze traveling towards Seolhyun's heating hands.

Seolhyun guided Hyejeong's lifeless like hands, towards her warming cheek, hoping that her heat could radiate over to Hyejeong's icy hands. Only Seolhyun's constant sniffs, and the beeping of the heart monitor could be heard in the semi silent room. Hyejeong;s breathing was to silent to hear, but Seolhyun prayed that Hyejeong was indeed breathing.

"Why?" Seolhyun's whisper was barely audible to her own ears, but for some precious reason, Seolhyun had hope. False hope? Maybe, but she still hoped for the best outcome. Seolhyun had hoped to be able to fix the heart of who she had broken of just 2 weeks ago. Seolhyun was also hoping that their love wasn't too late to mend. Everything  had driven Seolhyun to a breaking point, but she still wondered the question of why? Why did things turn out the way it did? Who was guiding the mechanics of this world? When they broke up, Seolhyun didn't think they would long for each other forever, she thought like most people, everyone would just move on, and remain friends. But did god have other plans for them? All these questions were beginning to pile into Seolhyun's head, none of them were answered. But the main question right now was; will Hyejeong make it? Seolhyun dared to say yes. Seolhyun would do anything to make sure her yes come true.

The hospital room suffocated Seolhyun's broken heart, as Seolhyun's golden brown eyes continue to stare at the resting face of her former lover. Hyejeong looked to be in a deep and peaceful sleep,  but deep down, Seolhyun knew Hyejeong hadn't been in peace before the accident had taken place. Call her selfish but Seolhyun wanted Hyejeong to wake up from her peace. Seolhyun desperately wanted Hyejeong to wake up so Seolhyun shower her with her true love, and mend her pained heart.

There was a 50/50chance that Hyejeong would live. The doctors weren't sure. Neither was Seolhyun, but she dared to hope. Seolhyun did her best to listen to Hyejeong breathing one last time for the day, as she let go of Hyejeong's icy hands. Visiting would soon be over, but Seolhyun didn't have the slightest intention to leave. Seolhyun felt like a tree being cut down, she could barely stand, she could barely fight. She could hope for the best, but that was really al Seolhyun could do.

Looking out at the night sky through the hospital room window was never something Seolhyun could ever imagine herself doing. But here she was, chin rested on a window still, while her two hands folded quietly on her lap, as she gazed out at the night sky. Seolhyun could only see the bright transparent moon, but no stars surrounded the moon. The moon was just as lonely and heartbroken as she was. Maybe the moon had suffered a heartbreak from the stars as well, and now was just waiting for the stars to come back, just like how Seolhyun was waiting for Hyejeong to wake up, and hopefully come back to. It was selfish of her to want back the girl, who she had broken up with, but love was love, and nothing was going to stop Seolhyun from getting her love back.

A sound could be heard from the ceiling speakers, indicating that visiting time was officially over for today. Seolhyun cursed under her breath, as she walked over to Hyejeong's unconscious state. Tears started to make their way down Seolhyun's cheeks and onto Hyejeong's white sheets of comfort. Seolhyun didn't notice. She was too busy staring at her past lover's face, to try to memorize her face for the day. Seolhyun would come back right away tomorrow.

Not wanting to leave to leave just yet, Seolhyun pressed  a warm lip onto Hyejeong's cold ones. Was she hoping that Hyejeong would wake up like a Snow White story? Or a Sleeping Beauty story? Not likely, but Seolhyun was willing to give  it a try. Having Hyejeong's lips against hers made Seolhyun feel incredibly happy despite the situation they were both in. It's been so long since I had your lips against mine, Seolhyun felt tears threatening to fall down at the thought of Hyejeong kissing her again. Would she ever be able to?

Seolhyun turned away from Hyejeog to leave, but as she did, Seolhyun took one last glance  at Hyejeong's sleeping form and whispered, "I love you." Hyejeong of course showed no sign of hearing those three precious words, but Seolhyun prayed that those three words would give Hyejeong motivation to wake up. Turning the door knob to close the door hurt Seolhyun because she was leaving Hyejeong all alone in an empty white room. She was left holding in her tears, as she heard the final click on the Hyejeong's locked door.

Seolhyun didn't exactly know how she managed to walk out of the hospital's main entrance without  causing a scene, because Seolhyun's last intention at this moment was to leave Hyejeong. Again.

The cold breeze hit Seolhyun quite forcefully in the hospital parking lot, but for some reason, the cold breeze seem to warm Seolhyun up inside. Seolhyun somehow found her way to Seoul Park, but maybe it was because this park held so many of their memories of her adventure with Hyejeong. True home was right at this  park for both of them. This was the park where Hyejeong had confessed her love to Seolhyun, but this was also the park where they shared their very first date and kiss with. This park was also held the memories of their last date together, and held the story of how 2 pure innocent hearts were broken into tiny pieces.

The trees were much more calmer at night, then they were at day. Maybe it was because trees had to sleep at some point as well. They danced all day, but at night they let the wind rock them to sleep. Seolhyun smiled with envy at the resting trees, maybe it was because of how how the trees got to rest while Seolhyun was filled with nothing but worry and pain. Seolhyun didn't really know. The sound f the tree leaves swinging around awoke Seolhyun from her train of thought. Sitting on the closest park bench Seolhyun could reach, was what the old Seolhyun would have done. She probably would have  wiped off the leaves as if they were nothing but a piece of breadcrumb being flicked away by a human finger. But that was before, now, Seolhyun welcomed as many autumn leaves as she could sit on. Seolhyun made herself comfortable on a large smooth rock, that seem to grant her as much room as she needed to swing her legs or move her body around. The park was mostly empty at night, with the exceptions of a few travelers who wanted to see the tree's in their night form.

Seolhyun rested her head on another rock that wasn't as large or smooth as the one her body was on, but the rock was suitable for her head to take a deep rest. Seolhyun could see part of the bright moon shining down on her, or the whole park itself. The leaves that hung onto their branches for dear life covered the rest of the glowing moon. "Fascinating." Seolhyun whispered. Could trees really make the night sky turn so beautiful? The sight was an absolutely beautiful painting. One could make millions just by capturing such beauty. At Seolhyun would have bought the painting, if there ever was one.

Thinking back Seolhyun remembered a time where she and Hyejeong were on a date at this very  park, and Hyejeong had taught Seolhyun how to read a tree's emotion. Seolhyun was never a fan of tree's back then. They did nothing but bother you with their floating leaves, especially if they flew in your hair without you even noticing. Also, if you weren't careful enough with looking at where you were going at times, you might find yourself rubbing your face in pain because you collided yourself into a strong sturdy looking tree. So when Hyejeong had pointed out how much she loved nature and trees, Seolhyun wasn't exactly a gleeful girlfriend. After all, their first date was at this park, full of trees that responded to the seasons of the month. Seolhyun was beyond grateful that Hyejeong had never stopped loving trees and had even managed to coax Seolhyun into loving trees as well.

She remembered how their first kiss was behind a tree that was thick enough to hide both of their bodies, as Hyejeong confessed her love, and Seolhyun had accepted it. Seolhyun remembered how amazing the kiss was. They had both taken each other's first kiss. The kiss just felt so right, it was beyond perfect. The kiss wasn't just a tin peck but a loving and passionate kiss that wasn't too harsh or fast. The kiss was just right.

Seolhyun remembered how on one of their dates at night, Hyejeong had pointed to a tree and had asked Seolhyun how she thought the tree was feeling today? Seolhyun at the time still wasn't very fond of trees but she didn't completely dislike them like before. She could see some good in the trees, but Seolhyun still wasn't head over heels for them. At the time.

Seolhyun remembered herself laughing at Hyejeong's question, thinking that trees had no feelings. Oh, how wrong she had been at the time. She remembered how serious Hyejeong's face had been. That day was also the day, Hyejeong made Seolhyun fall deeper in love with Hyejeong. Who knew a group of autumn trees could create such a fuzzy feeling?

"Hey Seolhyun, you see that tree? To see an trees emotion isn't just about counting how many rings are on the tree, no. It's much more than that. It's about seeing the tree itself. Look at the tree like you would look at a real human. Notice the way they sway, the way they look. It's fascinating Seolhyun, it really is." Seolhyun laughed a bit as she replayed the words Hyejeong had told her on that date. Tears started to silently drip down from Seolhyun's eyes to her cheeks once again, at the thought of Hyejeong slipping away from her every second wasted. Would they ever be able to share another memory in this park again?

Many more days past, Seolhyun continued to stay with Hyejeong from day to night, every single day. At night she would wander over to Seoul Park to replay another memory of them that was embedded into her mind. On the 11th day after Hyejeong's accident took place, something happened that brought Seolhyun delighted tears.

Seolhyun had walked into the hospital room, prepared to sit by Hyejeong's side once again, but instead of sitting down when Seolhyun opened the door. Seolhyun was greeted by a fully awake Hyejeong, sitting upright, eyes open revealing her beautiful mocha brown eyes. Hyejeong looked somewhat confused, but her face seem to relax as she as she saw it was only Seolhyun. On the other hand, Seolhyun was at a loss of words, she had waited for this very day to happen, to see Hyejeong safe and  alive. But now that she had gotten her wish, Seolhyun didn't exactly know what to say. They both stared at each other with longing, but also pain? Seolhyun wasn't quite sure, neither was Hyejeong. But both knew, that they longed for each other. They needed each other. Seolhyun causally walked over to Hyejeong, but also tried to hide her excitement. But she couldn't, why hide something so happy? Seolhyun was happy! Why should she hide it? But was Hyejeong happy to?

The moment Seolhyun was a few inches away from Hyejeong. Hyejeong pulled Seolhyun into a hug. Seolhyun finally let her tears loose as she cried into Hyejeong's heating neck. Hyejeong wanted to cry happiness as well, but she wanted to remain strong for Seolhyun. So she quietly patted Seolhyun on the back in hopes that Seolhyun would seize her tears soon.

"Do you know how worried I was Hyejeong! How could you?!  I thought you had already left me! I'm so sorry for what I caused Hyejeong, please. I know owe you an explanation of everything, but Hyejeong, will you accept me as your girlfriend again?  I know it's selfish of me to want you back, but I can't help it. I'm too in love with you Hyejeong." Seolhyun rambled on and on about how she missed Hyejeong, and how she thought that Hyejeong had left her. Hyejeong could only smile, as she came to the realization that Seolhyun still loved her very much. She decided to silence Seolhyun by a loving kiss, and that was exactly what she did.

Seolhyun was surprised at first, but she kissed back almost immediately. Seolhyun couldn't help but have the question of does she really still love me? Or does she just want to kiss me so I can stop talking? But once Hyejeong pulled away from the kiss a minute later. She stared Seolhyun square into Seolhyun's golden brown eyes and smiled. "Does that answer your question of love?" Hyejeong cheekily asked. Seolhyun nodded her head swiftly. She couldn't believe it, Hyejeong had accepted her again, this was an amazing moment to the couple. Seolhyun didn't know what she did to deserve such happiness but she hoped that this happiness wouldn't seize anytime soon.

Seolhyun wheeled a sitting Hyejeong out of the hospital, as they strolled their way through Seoul Park. Hyejeong had broken her right arm, and both of her legs. So Hyejeong had to stay in a wheelchair for a while. But Hyejeong didn't mind. Seolhyun was there with her, so whatever happens, Hyejeong knew Seolhyun would always be with her. The moon was a lot more brighter tonight, so when they looked up. There it was, the millions of stars that disappeared were back. The moon was just as happy as they were. They had chosen to forgive each other, and love each other again. "Say, Hyejeong. Do you think you can capture this moment with a painting and not in a camera." Seolhyun suddenly blurted out.

Hyejeong cocked her head to the side to show she wasn't exactly sure she could, but maybe if she tried, then just maybe. She might be able to.  The couple began to tease each other into the night nonstop as they arrived at their very special tree. The wind wasn't howling like crazy, but there was just enough to get the trees moving a bit, so they could dance some more for the couple, despite their tired states. The couple watched the performance with love, as they understood what love really was now. It didn't matter where you lived, what you did, who your family was. As long as you knew true love, then nothing will ever stop you from finding your love. The couple sealed their true words, with a true love's kiss, right under the autumn tree that had granted them, their first kiss.

Yeah, just a hopefully satisfying and lengthy chapter I put together these past few weeks, in hopes to earn your guys forgiveness. I understand if you still hate me even after this one shot but I hope you enjoyed the story(?) Do expect a honest update next week, because I have spring break which gives me a little bit of time to update. Thank you for all those who have supported me, and also thank you to the past supporters.  Again, I am super sorry for mistakes and for my lack of writing in the past few months. Truely sorry about everything. Until next time!

Chapter 1: *sobs* omg this was so perfect!! STOP CUTTING ONIONS!!! I was so heartbroken at the angsty part! I can't even! This story is so beautiful! And the society part is so true too!!
This story actually reminded me so much of my ex-boyfriend and me. It was exactly the same. Family rejected! He didn't had anyone like Hyejeong too. It was even more complicated since my brother and him were really close friends, almost like real brothers...it's been more than half a year but i still think about the what if's and my decisions.
Anyway, very nice story authornim. I hope you do make a sequel of this since Seol's parents still have to find out about the reunited couple. Please update soon~

Chapter 1: IM SUCH A CRYBABY FOR STORIES LIKE THESE. the angsty parts always hits me right in the feels.

i really enjoyed reading this beautifully written oneshot and i particularly was engaged at all the social boundaries and stereotype of wealthy parents. the ability to address these subjects and incorporate them into a outstanding seoljeong oneshot is amazingggg!

thank you for gifting us seoljeong shippers with this story and i hope you can continue to do so!

ALSO YES SEOLJEONG IS LIFEEEE!

Chapter 1: After reading your story, I find myself wishing for more people to accept homouality. Love is love after all, it shouldn't be seen as a sin or an abomination. People seriously need to wake up!

Seoljeong is so sweet here! I'm glad they still ended up together despite everything. But I'm wondering what will happen to seolhyun since her parents wouldn't accept hyejeong here.

Looking forward to your future updates:)
