Perturb

Mina was up and awake a few hours later, Nayeon resting on her shoulder. Nara was still in deep sleep like Sana. Tzuyu was the only other person awake, observing Sana who was still sleeping on her shoulder. Mina gently pushed Nayeon off her, laying her down gently before she got up from her spot. Tzuyu looked on quizzically, wondering what she was doing as she shuffled around the room, packing items into a backpack of hers.

“You’re leaving?” Tzuyu whispered.

“I don’t have a choice. I need to protect you all. It’s my priority.” Mina shook her head.

“You’re really going to leave us all here? Especially, without telling her anything?” Tzuyu asked, indicating to Nayeon.

“It’s for her safety that she doesn’t know what’s going on outside.” Mina explained.

“You think it’s for her safety but sometimes, it’s better to let them know the truth.” Tzuyu added in frustration.

“I know. I just don’t want her to suffer.” Mina muttered. Her walkie talkie buzzed in her back pocket and she excused herself out of the room, receiving the input from her team leader.

“Mina. Are you there?”

“Yes Sir. I copy loud and clear.”

“Alright. From what we can gather, Havoc is back and running with another attempt to smuggle their usual load of drugs and weaponry. But maybe, this time they’re going for a bigger amount. They’ve never destroyed public property so something seems to be out of the ordinary here.”

“Yes Sir. I believe there’s a double motive behind this. One of the members of Havoc has a relation to a fellow hostage here.”

“There are others with you?”

“Yes, three adults and one child.”

“A child? How old is she?”

“I’m unaware of her age Sir. But she looks roughly six.”

“They must be protected at all costs.”

“Yes, I understand Sir. I will ensure their safety. It will not be compromised.”

“Havoc are an elite team Mina. You are the top guard of our company and I have full faith in you. Additionally, you need to be on the lookout. Keep others safe but keep yourself safe as well. You know who we’re up against.”

“Yes Sir.”

“I’ll pass on more information if I receive anything. I’ve received word that a rescue team has been sent out but don’t rely on the information. Havoc could surely have them in their pockets in no time. Stay safe Mina.”

Mina placed the device into her back pocket as she returned to the room. She gulped as she received a glare from Nayeon. She knew that one way too well; she referred to it as Super Naiyan Mode (A/N: Super Saiyan :]). She was about to suffer in one, two, three

“Mina!” Nayeon shouted, still glaring at her.

“Y-yes?” Mina stuttered, throwing a quick glance to Tzuyu who was smirking in satisfaction. God, that piece of –

“What were you thinking?” Nayeon asked, crossing her arms as she neared Mina.

“I – I just went to talk to my superior.” Mina stammered, walking backwards against the door.

“I have a feeling that you were about to disappear.” Nayeon accused, waiting for her defence.

“I had to discuss things with my team leader to know what’s going on.” Mina explained.

“I think there’s something you’re missing there.” Nayeon added.

“What? There’s nothing else.” Mina denied.

“Oh really? What about the I don’t have a choice. I need to protect you all. It’s my priority.” Nayeon scoffed, anger evident in her eyes.

In her entire time she’d known Nayeon, Mina had only seen this side of her twice. The first time was when her partner challenged Nayeon to date Mina and the second time was when Nayeon had found out about her partner’s habits. She was sure there would’ve been a third time before if Nayeon had known about what really happened to Mina but there were some things that should be left a secret.

“Well – uh, I meant it!” Mina argued.

“Mina, you’re not leaving here on your own.” Nayeon frowned, shaking her head.

“It’s what I have to do.” Mina whispered, looking behind Nayeon to take a glance at Nara. “You have to stay safe. You have to protect Nara. I understand Nayeon. I can’t risk your safety or anyone else’s.” She clarified.

“I can’t lose you again.” Nayeon whimpered, hoping to change Mina’s mind.

“It’s part of my job Bunny.” Mina mumbled, leaning her forehead against Nayeon’s.

“Please, just stay! You’ll be safe here!” Nayeon pleaded desperately.

“You know I would. But I can’t.” Mina said, intertwining her fingers with Nayeon’s in an attempt to calm her down.

Neither of them talked but it seemed that they’d reached an understanding. Nayeon didn’t want to let go and Mina didn’t want to leave but they knew that if the situation was different, things would’ve been better for the two of them.

Mina pressed a kiss to Nayeon’s forehead, refusing to meet Nayeon’s tear filled eyes because she knew she wouldn’t be able to deny the wish that they pleaded for. She turned around, hearing Nayeon’s sniffles, hurting her heart more than she ever thought it would. She gripped the handle tightly, taking a deep breath to compose herself before she turned it.

“Wait!” Tzuyu called out, waking up Sana as well.

“Tzuyu?” Sana mumbled, surprised by her outburst as she rubbed the sleep out of her eyes. Everyone’s gaze was on her now as they waited for what she was going to say.

“I’ll go with you.” Tzuyu demanded.

“No, you won’t.” Mina shook her head, denying it.

“Let me go with you. Everyone here will be less worried if someone went with you instead of you going on your own.” Tzuyu suggested.

“Tzuyu, you don’t even know how to defend yourself.” Sana pointed out, not wanting her to leave either.

“There are some things you don’t know about me, princess.” Tzuyu chuckled, kissing Sana’s head, surprising her. “I have been issued a Pal Dan (8th degree back belt). I still have further to go but that is my highest achievement of as yet. I can provide some help.”

Mina’s mouth hung open in amazement. She’d never met someone of such high ranking in martial arts other than herself.

“Do you know how to use a gun?” Mina asked.

“Yes.” Tzuyu nodded, surprising Sana again.

“Alright, come with me then.” Mina nodded, passing her extra gun to Tzuyu.

“Tzuyu, you know you don’t have to do this.” Nayeon informed.

“I want to. I should protect you all as well, shouldn’t I?” Tzuyu questioned with sincerity. She turned around to Sana, seeing her teary. “Don’t cry. I’ll be back before you know it.” She whispered, wiping away Sana’s tears.

“Stay safe. Please.” Sana pleaded, closing her eyes.

“I will. Know that I love you, Minatozaki Sana.” Tzuyu mumbled, cupping Sana’s cheeks. “I’ve loved you for a very long time and I will love you forever.” She added, capturing Sana’s lips with her own.

I love you so much Sana. I want you to be safe. I will protect you no matter what.

Tzuyu placed one last lingering kiss on Sana’s forehead, keeping her head up even though her heart was cracking as she heard Sana crying. She’d give Sana the world if she really could, that’s just how much she loved her. Protection was a minute thing when it came to her; it was the least she could do.

Mina nodded to Tzuyu, indicating to the door. “I promise, I’ll come back.” She whispered. She gave Nayeon’s hand one last squeeze, spontaneously landing a kiss on her cheek as she hurriedly left the room. This was a good decision. Mina knew it was.

“Are you sure you want to take part in this.” Mina asked one last time.

“Yes.” Tzuyu nodded, not speaking further.

“Alright. Let’s go then.” Mina cleared , leading the way. They had to start somewhere, so possibly the control room? She didn’t know how long it was going to be until she had another update from her team leader. She had to rely on her own instincts and what she knew of Havoc.

“Who are we dealing with here? You might have kept it away from Nayeon but I know you were lying; you didn’t want to make her worried.” Tzuyu questioned.

“I’m sure you’ve heard of them. Havoc?” Mina asked, taking the recognition in Tzuyu’s eyes as a sign to continue. “They’re the ones who currently have the place under their control.”

“From what I’ve heard, they’ve never damaged property.” Tzuyu frowned, thinking about the situation.

“We think it’s more personal than just their usual gimmicks.” Mina nodded.

“You mean, they’re also going to be transporting their usual illegal weaponry and drugs?” Tzuyu asked.

“That is always their main goal. Though, they’ve never taken over an airport as large as this one. They get away and escape from the smaller ones so it’s more suspicious that they’re dealing using this airport.” Mina sighed, growing frustrated.

“There’s something else though, isn’t there?” Tzuyu pushed.

“One of the members of so called Havoc is also Nayeon’s ex-partner.” Mina said angrily.

“And you knew this all along?” Tzuyu asked in surprise.

“Yes. I’ve been tracking Havoc for a very long time now. My father used to be looking over them since high school. That’s when I knew something was suspicious. Though, a lot of things had happened at that time and it wasn’t until we graduated that I had found out Nayeon’s ex’s part in the illegal movements.” Mina explained.

“Wait, but how does a guard working at an airport know all of this?” Tzuyu pondered, feeling confused.

“I’m not an ordinary guard. Well, I am a guard. But just in disguise.” Mina chuckled, watching on as Tzuyu got more confused.

“What?” Tzuyu whined.

“I’m a secret guard. You could call it undercover but it’s not really hidden. Most people know who I am and my position is well recognised. I’ve been moving around different places but been here the longest. I realised why I got put here now. It was the one place Havoc hadn’t been to.” Mina replied.

“A secret guard… I have no words that can explain what’s going on inside my head right now. I’m super confused but I understand that there is a possible link to Nayeon’s safety in this situation. You want to protect Nayeon by not telling her that her ex is part of this. Now Nara and Sana are also part of this and I’ll be by your side to protect them as well.” Tzuyu said, trying to piece everything together.

“Thank you, Tzuyu.” Mina nodded. She knew she’d have to explain more later but for now, she knew Tzuyu wouldn’t say more.

Meanwhile, hours later, Sana and Nayeon were pacing nervously in the room they were in. Both of them were worried about the situation at hand yet neither knew what to do. Nayeon didn’t want to put Nara at risk but she was too worried about the possible state the two were in. Every single terrible possibility had flashed through her mind and she hated it.

“What to do?” Nayeon mumbled to herself. “I can’t do this.” Sana froze in her spot. “I can’t let them be out there on their own.”

“We need to stay here.” Sana shook her head. It sounded more like she was trying to convince herself.

“No. I can’t stay here Sana. I’m going to go out of my mind.” Nayeon groaned.

“What about Nara?” Sana asked.

“I’ll leave her with you.” Nayeon suggested.

“No way! If you’re going, so will I!” Sana denied.

“Then we’ll have to take Nara with us. I’m not going to sit here and wait when they’re out there.” Nayeon decided.

“But Nara –”

“I’ll protect her with everything I have.” Nayeon said confidently.

Their hearts were all hurting but it was the only way for them to protect the ones they love. Tzuyu would forego the pain she was going through and Mina would do the same. Sana finally realised the worth of Tzuyu’s love and she would protect it with everything she had. Nayeon doesn’t want to lose her special someone again, she would risk it all.

They were unknowingly by each other’s side in this mission now and they’d do anything to make it succeed.

I wasn't expecting that. I found this story under the recommendations and I'm glad I checked it out. The story is well-written and kept me on edge. I felt every emotion of each character and you, as an author delivered it well. I also love how you portray Momo in this story, it's quite refreshing to see her in a different light. Did I mention that Minayeon is one of my fav ships even though they're tragic irl? :(

Anyways, thank you for creating this story. I'll be checking more of your works.

Chapter 17: Oh my god. I read this story in one sitting, literally. I didn't get up even once, im just here on a chair with the laptop on the dining table, I didn't drink water, didn't take my eyes off the screen, anything, the whole time. I freaking loved this oh my god. For the whole story I was like "oh my god how are they so calm" BECAUSE ADMIT IT NO REAL AVERAGE PERSON WOULD BE CALM IN THIS TYPE OF SITUATION. Mina is an exception here, cause she's not an average person anymore with what she went through with momo, but TZUYU AND SANA AND NAYEON? AND DON'T EVEN START WITH NARA. Like if i was Sana, just a normal person who was on a vacation who was suddenly involved in two people's relationship problem that escalated to bombing a huge airport resulting in several hundreds possibly thousands of deaths, then oh my god you cannot believe the immense fear I would feel. And sana and nayeon were so freaking brave to leave that secret safe room i swear, if i was them i probably wouldnt be able to take one step out of the room... but then again they were doing it for someone they love so idk. And Nara. oh my god. if i was nara i wud just silently cry and stay quiet the whole time, but my god. anyway this was AMAZING even though you said this wasnt your forte. I don't usually read this genre but omgisjofidshfoisdhfiojsdiof also aaaaa im slightly sad that there wasn't more background on tzuyu and sana. Like there wasn't more explanation about their backstory, idk just i wanted to get to know them more as chars but that isn't the focus of the story so oh well. Tzuyu seemed really interesting what with her knowledge of guns, and also dat black belt, and we got literally zero on sana's background story except for the fact that she's bestfriends with tzuyu and she's been in multiple relationships and she made tzuyu suffer for five years lmao. But oh well... i still love this omggggggg i guess the story is mostly focusing only on this event in their lives, and characters are always my favorite parts of stories so don't mind me ranting about wanting to know more about the characters lol. That didn't make me love this story any less aaaaa. Also, at the part where nayeon said that speech to momo in her grave, and mina said she doesnt even deserve half of that, I have to admit I agreed with mina at that point. BUT when it came to the part when it finally told what happened at the day nayeon shot the gun (also I couldn't stop laughing, i mean i know i shouldn't but i cant help but laugh when it got revealed that nayeon shot mina's shoulder instead cause lmao at that scene i was thinking "whoa nayeon's so cool" but now i know what actually happened lol. im sORRY FOR LAUGHING MINA, BUT EVEN IF I WAS IN YOUR SITUATION DON'T WORRY I WOULD STILL LAUGH EVEN THO I GOT MY SHOULDER SHOT CAUSE IDK I JUS FIND IT FUNNY IDK??? AAA) anyway when it came to that part, I actually cried when it showed momo's final actions and moments of saying sorry. It just... idk the whole story momo was portrayed as "evil" or sth but yeah I agree with nayeon's speech when I saw that part, she just needed guidance :c I felt so sad imagining the emotions she must've been going through in her last moments, probably got hit with realization and regret like a ton of bricks and i just feel so bad and sad for her AGHHH MOMOOOO ;; and i can just imagine and feel the emotion and sadness and regret she's feeling and regretting everything, IDK MAYBE THATS NOT HOW U PICTURED IT BUT IDKKK I JUST FEEL LIKE THAT'S PROBABLY WHAT SHE WENT THROUGH AND I FEEL SO SADDDDD ASIJAOIDJASOJDIO i wish momo didn't have to go through everything like that :c that way the people at the airport wouldnt have died too and mina and nayeon wudent go through this too and sana and tzuyu wudent go through all that too and nara wudent be scarred with this incident but then again sana and tzuyu probs wudent have confessed to each other, wudent have met nayeon and mina, their friendships wudent be formed, nara wudent meet tzuyu, mina and nayeon wudent be reunited.... so now idk if its better this way or if momo had guidance... i feel bad for de ppl but at the same time the four wudent meet.... but then momo wudent have had a miserable life and ppl wudent have died.. but the four wudent have met.... AGH I DUNNO WUTEVER. WUTEVER THIS WAS AN AMAZING STORY SIOFIOSDJFOSDIJ I LOVE THIS I SHALL CHECK YOUR PROFILE FOR OTHER STORIES NOW. BUT I TEND TO ROAM THE SITE LIKE A NOMAD AND GO AROUND AUTHORS AND SOMETIMES IN THE MIDDLE OF A CONVERSATION WOULD LEAVE SOMEONE HANGING AND REMEMBER TOO LATE THAT I HAD A CONVERSATION SO I HAVE NO IDEA IF ILL BE ABLE TO READ ALL YOUR STORIES CAUSE I MIGHT FORGET LOL. (wow i just realized im like a playgirl but in like story reader version. i dont understand what im saying)

OKAY BYE I LOVED THIS STORY SO MUCH ALSO IT MADE ME AWARE OF THE DANGERS OF THE WORLD LOL?? AND I LOVE U AUTHOR FOR MAKING THIS STORY. Also I hope that the reader that said that they'd stop reading if u killed off their fave char didn't force u into saving tzuyu or something? I mean I definitely wudent like it if tzuyu died and im definitely happy she survived cause i dunno i just feel a bit bad reading a real person's death and imagining it, like i feel like im trying to will it to happen, but id never abandon this story cus i love this and i hope u didnt get forced to save her or sumthing? but LOL im not saying u actually wanted her dead, just dat i hope that reader didn't bother u to the point of changing such a major part in ur story? i dun even understand myself anymore THIS STORY IS THE CAUSE OF ME GOING INSANE

nah jk i love u author i love this story it made me go thru squealing crying and getting angry (at situations nut u) and realizing things and yey i love this. also i find it really amusing how there were parts when the atmosphere was serious and stuff, then BOOM fluff lmao. okay this comment is getting too long im ranting too much I LOVE THIS STORY IM PUTTING ALL MY LOVE INTO THESE SENTENCE CAUSE I CANT EXPRESS HOW MUCH I LOVE IT IN WORDS SO LEMME COMMUNICATE MY LOVE FOR THIS STORY TO YOU TELEPATHICALLY. FEEL MY FEELINGS.

OH WAIT I REREAD THE AUTHORS NOTE IN CASE I MISSED AND FORGOT SOMETHINGS I WANTED TO REPLY TO IN THE MIDST OF ME RANTING, AND OMG POSSIBILITY OF SEQUEL? PLEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASE. AND A LIGHTER AND FLUFFY ONE PLEASE LMAO THAT MAYBE CUD FOCUS ON THE CHARACTERS? ALSO Y DID U FEEL LIKE IT WAS HEADING TOWARDS A TERRIBLE END, IT WAS WONDERFUL THE WHOLE JOURNEY THROUGH LOL. also dont make ur main goal making us happy cus sumtimes that stops authors from exploring their limits, ive witnessed it :c writers shud make themselves happy, especially writers here cause they're doing all this fOR FREE. liek bish i cant even motivate myself to write a story even if u paid me a hundred bucks lol... i mean. maybe...

(LOL OF COURSE ID DO IT FOR A HUNDRED BUCKS BUT THAT ISNT THE POINT)

anyway i really should end this comment lmao OKAY BYE I LOVE U ATHOR FOR WRITING THIS STORY I LOVE THIS STORY AND OH MY GOD IM ALONE ITS NIGHT AND I JUST SAW SOMETHING AT THE CORNER OF MY EYE SO IM TYPING REALLY FAST TO END THIS AND GO HIDE AT MY ROOM WHERE EBRYONE ELSE IS SO BYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE I LOVED THIS
