Chapter 55
Suddenly
55. Whiskey Kiss
It seemed that Seohyun had proven the existence of mommy clock that the first sound of Euna’s whimpering would wake her up— alert at that. She opened her eyes and reached out for her baby’s chest and soothed her gently letting her know that she was right there. With that, Euna stopped right away and rolled on her stomach facing her, “Good morning, sleepyhead…”
Euna gave her big gummy grin then rubbed her eyes with her fist. All of a sudden, Yonghwa yawned out loud then stretched behind Seohyun. Their baby’s eyes widened and she stopped moving so she cooed, “Who’s that, Euna?”
Yonghwa groaned again and the little one yelped and pushed her body closer to her umma knowing that her appa was close but she could not see him. When Seohyun noticed that Euna was getting annoyed and ready to cry, she pulled her close and let her drape on her waist, “Good morning, appa.”
He cleared his throat and grinned at Euna who was grinning sleepily back at him. “Good morning, sweetheart,” Yonghwa greeted and moved close to kiss the baby’s forehead. He then plopped an elbow and leaned in to peck a kiss on Seohyun’s cheek that definitely caught her off guard. Smirking, he drawled, “Good morning, Seohyun-ssi.”
“Good morning, yourself,” she muttered, “Do you have any idea how late it is?”
“Yup,” Yonghwa replied as he sat up and took Euna.
Seohyun sighed and shifted to her stomach then frowned at him, “You’ll be late for work.”
“You’re forgetting something,” he winked and laughed when Seohyun clicked her tongue. She rose from the bed and he spoke just to appease her, “I’ll help you with her first.”
Seohyun didn’t answer and went straight to making Euna’s milk instead. But before she could finish, the door burst open and the two boys rushed inside the room. Yonghwa frowned at her, “You didn’t lock the door?”
She raised a brow at him, “Why should I?”
“You know, in case we were in some state of undress—“ he laughed when she clicked her tongue again, a little louder this time so he just focused on the two boys who were already busily cooing at Euna. “Good morning, Jaewon-ah… good morning Jaewoong-ah.”
The two boys recognized the meaning of his greeting so they stood on the bed and bowed at him in unison, “Good morning, samcheon. Good morning, imo.”
“Good morning,” Seohyun smiled as she moved closer handing Yonghwa their baby’s breakfast, “Did you sleep well last night?”
“Neh,” the two boys replied again but they were more interested in starting to play with Euna.
Because of the little commotion, Euna was mostly distracted watching the boys jump and throw pillows all over the bed that Yonghwa started to scold them, “Yah… ya—“
Seohyun smiled as he looked at him gesturing that she could handle it. She took Jaewoong’s tiny hand and let him sit on the bed, “How about I give you, boys, a job today?”
“A job?!”
It was Jaewon who answered and she nodded, “Uh-huh, you can hold Euna and Jaewoong can feed her. Can you do that?”
“Neh!” The two boys responded eagerly and she helped them get settled comfortably. Yonghwa grinned at her and gave her a thumb’s up. When he was sure that she could handle things, he decided to take his shower. The truth was, he had a meeting at nine and it was past seven. Euna usually woke up early but this morning it seemed that she overslept, hence her umma did as well. And that affected him too.
Although his parents’ home was close to the business district, Yonghwa decided to rush his shower in case there wouldn’t be any time left to prepare. When he got out of the bathroom, the scene made him stop abruptly on his tracks. Seohyun was sitting on the bed, her legs spread in front of her. On one arm, she cradled Euna and the other was wrapped around Jaewoong. Jaewon was on her other side intently listening to her as she animatedly read them a story from Euna’s fairytale book that they brought.
He found himself smiling and he smiled some more when she looked up at him. Taking his phone, he snapped a photo of them that she frowned in between glancing at the book and him. It was beautiful— seeing her like that.
Like she would make a great mom to more children.
The thought brought shivers down his spine realizing that he wanted to be the father of those children she would have in the future.
Yonghwa frowned at his own thoughts and walked away.
She watched him by the corner of her eyes and noticed the deep frown that replaced his smile just a few seconds ago.
Sometimes, she just couldn’t figure him out.

The rest of the day at the office he had thought of nothing but that realization that suddenly came to him. It was another busy day but work couldn’t distract him from that vision of Seohyun with his children— their children.
Yonghwa never had that kind of thought before, never ever thought of how many children he would have, when he would be ready to settle down or what kind of woman should he look for. But since the two came into his life— or some time along that line, he would have this moment of a total loss and he would just slip into that imaginary future.
Probably, he didn’t really need to think of those things. Probably, Seohyun is it for him. Besides,
