"You're disgusting." Siyeon eyed the box on Minkyung's bed. "Totally gross."

"I dunno. It's a little romantic." Eunwoo flopped onto the bean bag in the corner, sinking into it.

"Getting a girl a for Christmas is not romantic, Eunwoo." Siyeon rolled her eyes, crossing the room to sit at her desk. "And Minkyung, you're so gross."

Minkyung, who was sitting on her bed struggling to wrap the box, snorted. "Yeah. You said that already, but you're a fetus and if you had done what I told you and not looked in the box you'd never have been the wiser."

Siyeon rolled her eyes again. "As if I'm not going to look in a box that you tell me not to look in." Siyeon turned to Eunwoo, who was practically being swallowed by the beanbag. "You'd think she would know this after being my roommate this long."

Eunwoo grunted, struggling to escape the y-trapped bean bag. "Don't bring me into this."

Minkyung looked sharply over at Eunwoo, who was really truly stuck. "As if you weren't the one to offer to help me shop for the damn thing. You're so involved."

Siyeon rolled her eyes (again). "I hope you have something else to give her. Sungyeon will murder you if you put that under the tree."

Minkyung scoffed. "I'm not dumb. I got her a nice necklace too." She pointed to the box at the end of her bed.

Siyeon sighed. "Alright." Siyeon frowned, clearly still a little disturbed. "I still can't believe Nayoung suggested you two exchange dirty gifts. Our leader..."

---

Sungyeon wasn't about to let their imminent debut get in the way of Christmas. It was the most important time of the year, and if she and Kyla couldn't spend time with their families, then they would damn well have an amazing Christmas with the members. Sungyeon wasn't the leader, but she was the one who organized getting of the tree, the decorating of the dorm, and the baking of cookies (which probably in hindsight wasn't a great idea given the size of their kitchen and the number of people involved). No one was going to ruin this Christmas for her.

It was a tradition to open one present on Christmas Eve. In Sungyeon’s household, that present was pajamas to wear that night, but as long everyone opened one small present, Sungyeon wasn’t picky. There was a lot she wanted to do, like caroling and bingeing Christmas movies, but she had to protect her voice and their practice schedule got in the way of and plans with Netflix. But a nice, normal Christmas was just as good. And that’s exactly what Sungyeon had organized.

She was proud of herself, she had to admit. The tree was beautiful, even with its lopsided popcorn strands and add tacky homemade ornaments. And the cookies, even with half of them charred and the other half totally burnt, were good enough. It almost didn't matter that they had lit the dorm curtains on fire. There was really nothing more comforting to Sungyeon than a Christmas tree with presents piled underneath it.

“Merry Christmaaaas!” Kyungwon, wearing a clown nose and antlers, barreled into the living room, giving a bearded and Santa hat wearing Yebin a piggy back ride.

Yebin yeehawed and brought her hand back to slap Kyungwon’s , giving it a firm squeeze. “Faster! I’ve gotta deliver the presents!” Kyungwon yelped and tripped on the floor. Sungyeon then noticed the lumpy pillowcase Yebin had slung over her shoulder. Kyungwon skidded to a halt in front

This hurts, mann.. I read a bit of your discussion with mrml and I can understand that. I think it's more because idols have made their dreams their own "idols" and one of the most prevalent asian mentality is competition in all things marketable, smh..

I always reread angsty ioi stories (there's one series I've reread more than a dozen times the past week) and I just want to commend you for how true you describe reality. It's quite scary, as the darker greys of society are.

Chapter 20: Oh man, what did Nayoung even see? Minkyung's hormones are out of control...Now I kind of want to know whether or not Kyungwon is really connected to that drug cartel, or if she just has a thing for cute cops and decide to try her luck. I hope it's the latter, I don't think that dork would fare well in jail lol

Chapter 19: Now that was an amazing read. Kyungwon's struggle here feels so raw and real, you should definitely feel proud. The whole 'hammer and nail' metaphor was beautifully executed. You write emotions so well, I don't think youre rusty at all, they feel as poignant as ever. I love Nayoung's portrayal, the dynamic between 'leader' and 'friend' was a delight to read, just the right amount of stern but comforting. Minkyung however, i felt couldve been a little more comforting in the beginning, but I guess you did say that she didnt realise how badly Kyungwon would panic. Im kinda curious to see who else has 'violets in their lapels' (double yay for old lgbt traditions), im assuming its Minkyung, but it might not necessarily be. The greedy part of me wants to read more of this, especially Siyeon and Kyungwons convo, but i think its wrapped up ok, since this is mostly Kyungwon's journey. It was a great read, i miss your writing xD
