X is a pirate and Y is the supposed prince/princess of some kingdom. Y is being held captive for ransom by X and his crew. X hopes for a large sum of money in return for their prince(ss). However, Y is extremely demanding and pushy and X considers returning Y for a new cost, clearly too annoyed with the complaints and whines from their prisoner. A week passes by and still no word from the kingdom. Turns out that the prince(ss) they held captive was just a stand-in and the real one is back at the castle. Y was simply just a sacrificial lamb in order to get the pirates off their backs. When X finds out, he's furious and considers just dumping Y in the middle of the ocean. But seeing as to how dejected and quiet Y suddenly seems, X reconsiders that thought. It turns out that there's more to Y than X had thought.
