When I Say Ho, You Say Ya!

Description

Hoya's a thinker. Dongwoo's his tutor. And Hoya never ever thinks about his charming laugh, his crinkly eyes, or that adorable annoying dinosaur obsess— No siree!

Foreword

Hey you guys, I’m back with a Yadong oneshot threeshot fourshot! Hehe, I think I’m probably more excited than all of you guys put together. xDDD.

Anyways, so I’ve gotten super hooked on Infinite’s smexy Yadong couple these days because they’re just so perfect in their jjajangmyun eating, couple bike riding, paper kissing and b-boying cuteness.

And urr;; about the fic, it’s a Yadong-centric, maybe some Myungyeol? teehee. ;DD

HOPE YOU GUYS LIKE THE MINI-TEASER/PROLOGUE THINGIE, PLEASE ANTICIPATE THE ONESHOT! <3333333333333

Woolim High — Roof

Howon doesn’t flinch when Myungsoo blows a ring of smoke into his face, clouding his vision for a brief second. He shoots the younger boy a disapproving look, the frown deepening when Myungsoo grins.

“ you, man.”

Myungsoo hums.

Howon relaxes. He leans back, propping his weight up with his arms at both sides— squinting as his eyes adjust to the new distance. It’s times like this where he thinks.

He thinks about many things, actually. Not that he’s good at it. Not at all. In fact, that’s exactly what drives his teachers to the edge, scolding him about one failed test after another. Instead, Howon thinks because he doesn’t know what he’d do if he didn’t.

“You’re thinking.”

Howon rolls his eyes.

“Way to state the obvious, punk.”

Myungsoo smiles again, resuming his light humming.

“Why do you do that?”

“What?” Howon replies briskly, annoyed at Myungsoo’s interruption.

Myungsoo takes a drag, opening his mouth to release perfect, full, smoke rings. Howon frowns.

“Do what, Myungsoo?” he repeats.

“… Hm?”

“You asked me why I─” Howon begins, but then sees the small smile playing on Myungsoo’s lips.

“─Never mind,” he growls.

‘Myungsoo’s a troll’, is what he decides.

A gust of wind blows across the roof, Myungsoo coughs, and Howon pretends not to notice when Myungsoo scoots a bit closer.

---

“Lee Howon, this is unacceptable. Last time, didn’t I tell you to take things more seriously? If things continue like this, you would have to…”

Howon’s already tuned out the professor’s voice, his eyes flickering to focus on a paperweight sitting on the desk. He thinks he’s gone deaf for a moment, before the professor’s voice heightens and brings him back to reality.

“Lee Howon! Are you paying attention to me?! I’m not wasting my breath to tell you this so it would enter one ear and exit the other!”

Howon dips his chin unenthusiastically, his eyes returning to the paperweight. The snap of a ruler on the desk startles him just slightly, and he unconsciously wets his lips. There’s an exasperated sigh as the professor flings the ruler back onto the desk, sinking into his office chair.

Howon almost thinks he’s excused, before the professor rubs his temples and straightens up.

“Dongwoo, you may come in now.”

The door creaks open just a bit, and a head pokes into the room. With a nod of approval from the professor, the newcomer steps in. There’s something about the way he walks, Howon thinks, as if he’s weightless— bouncing on air. The boy, or ‘Dongwoo’, as the professor called him, bends his body into respectful bows as he enters, his chestnut locks rustled by the movements.

Howon doesn’t look at him.

“Seonsaengnim, I’m here,” he greets, and then tilts his head as he regards Howon. Somehow, Howon feels just a bit intimidated.

“So, this is the infamous Lee Howon you were talking about earlier?” Dongwoo asks, sunshine radiating from his voice.

He scoots closer to Howon, bending slightly at the waist to stare up at Howon’s face. Howon accidentally meets his eyes, immediately turning his head away. Dongwoo laughs, baring a mouthful of pearly teeth too big for his mouth.

Howon tells himself he’s not embarrassed.

He almost feels thankful for once, when the professor clears his throat.

“This is one of my senior students, Jang Dongwoo. He’s agreed to tutor you in Mathematics until your final exams, starting today.”

“I’ll get Woori to do it,” he replies.

The professor sits up in his chair before sighing.

“No. The last time… the last time you asked Go Woori to tutor you, her parents ended up putting a restraining order on you.”

Howon smirks, ‘she asked for it.’

“Jaekyung, then.”

“Howon, I’m afraid you don’t understand. There is no choice being offered here. Dongwoo-goon will tutor you, and you will be tutored— and that, is final.”

Dongwoo looks away sheepishly, biting his bottom lip. Howon almost suspects that the older boy is about to burst out in laughter, from the way his shoulders are quaking. A feeling of annoyance rushes in his mind, and he tastes something bitter in his mouth.

“Whatever,” Howon grunts, turning on his heel.

The professor doesn’t bother getting up to chase after the student. Instead, he motions for Dongwoo to follow Howon, a tired smile on his lips. Dongwoo smiles back brightly, giving a gentle nod of his head before skipping off.

---

“He—ey!”

Howon frowns.

“Hey, Howon! W-wait up, will you?” Dongwoo pants.

Howon stops abruptly, only to cause the older boy to bump into his back. Dongwoo stumbles back clutching his forehead, a smile on his lips.

“Hehe, sorry about that,” he chuckles.

“Idiot,” Howon mutters under his breath, before resuming his pace.

“H-Hey!” Dongwoo exclaims, an adorable pout radiating from the warmth of his voice.

Howon almost catches himself turning around, before his subconscious reminds him that the Lee Howons of the world don’t give a rat’s about Jang Dongwoos. So, he walks on. That doesn’t stop Dongwoo from cackling out nonsense while walking behind, bursting into random fits of laughter that Howon doesn’t even try to comprehend.

Finally, Dongwoo seems to have shut up for a moment. Instead of feeling at peace though, Howon feels a surge of restlessness.

What is he thinking about? Maybe he’s… no, he can’t be. Maybe he’s staring… at… me? I must have worn something strange. But I’m wearing the uniform, though. Oh, it must be the collar.

Howon reaches up to the nape of his neck, subtly rearranging the collar of his dress shirt. He soon realizes that the collar’s fine. Dongwoo giggles and he quickly retracts his hand with a flustered blush.

What the hell, Howon. What the hell.

Howon knows that the Lee Howons of the world don’t blush, but the heat in his cheeks don’t seem to evaporate however hard he tries. Instead, they bloom pink, like a little choding’s. When Howon’s nervous, he starts to think really hard, first about something, then about something else, and it soon turns into a mindmap of everything and nothing related to the original subje—

“Hoya!”

Howon stiffens.

Don’t turn around. Don’t retort. Just look straight, and keep on walking.

“Ho—ya! Hoyaya! It’s a cute nickname, right? Can I call you that? Hoya? Hm?”

Ignore. Him.

“You like that, huh? It suits you so well, I mean, who wants to be Howon when they can be Hoya, right?”

Howon’s sweating under the curious looks that passerbys shoot him. Dongwoo grins.

“Hoya! When I say ‘Ho’, you say ‘Ya’!”

Howon grits his teeth.

“Ho!”

Shut up.

“Ho!”

Shut. Up.

“Ho!”

Howon stops in his tracks, a vein pulsing in his neck. With a growl, he swivels around to face a startled Dongwoo.

“YA! YA, YA, YA! YA, goddamnit! Now, will you shut the —”

Dongwoo blinks. Howon’s breath hitches when he sees the older boy’s expression. Dongwoo’s biting his lip again, his arms held behind his back as he stares at Howon through wide eyes. His shoulders are quivering again, and Howon suddenly feels like the biggest jerk in the universe.

Then, Dongwoo bursts out in laughter, and Howon resists the urge to punch him.

The flustered boy turns back to his earlier path, continuing at a faster pace. Dongwoo pouts and adjusts his bookbag around his shoulder before racing to catch up.

‘Dongsaengs are so cute these days’, he muses.
