12. Happiness is the flower that grows in the heart.

He tells everyone that he isn't going to get married until he's 40. He tells everyone that music, his fans, and his career are the most important things to him right now. He tells himself all these things and tells himself he is happy.

But then again, there are probably so many definitions for what happiness means to a person.

Is he happy, happier, happiest? He laughs from ear to ear when something good happens, smiles in satisfaction when he finishes a song, and when he sees his fans happy, so, does it even matter?

Jung Yonghwa is happy; that much is true. But not happier, or happiest. He has everything he could ever need and want, so what's missing?

It's more than what, it's who.

It's when he comes home alone to an empty house; when he enters and only silence greets him; when he sits behind his table alone to eat a meal with now to share it with.

So which one is he, happy, happier, or happiest?

Other people would say Jung Yonghwa is happy.

But when he smiles, it doesn’t reach his eyes anymore. He doesn’t carry his heart on his sleeves like he used to.

It stays hidden nowadays, scared to be out, to be touched, to be even notice as if it were a glass that could break anytime.

As much as he poses to be fearless, Jung Yonghwa is still someone that aches.

Chapter 2: These three mini stories were incredibly beautiful. I found the first and the third one evoked strong emotions of sadness in me. For a couple of years now, I've had the same thoughts as the one Seohyun did in story #6. I wonder if there's that sense of regret in her when she received their last mission. I could tell that she's been crying before she met up with him on their last day. I think she even was in the brink of crying when Yonghwa asked her "did you read the mission card?"

Their relationship is rather interesting and totally refreshinf unlike those predictable ones in kdrama nowadays.

Thank you so much for this!

Chapter 2: Oh no! I find myself in love with how you structure these past 2 chapters. Reading between different stages of their relationship made Chapter 8 seem a lot more sorrowful than it already was. They were both still in love, but why life had to be so complicated? It seemed as though he was a man who stayed, and she was a woman who couldn't move on. I also like how realistic and relatable this chapter was. The regrets, fear, insecurities, longing, frustration, and the amount of care they had for each other, even when both had hurt the other, felt so raw and real. Thank you for writing this chapter :)

Chapter 1: Oh man, it's hard picking a favourite. Your writing style makes them seem like two young adults experiencing the ups and downs of love, and not two idols meeting at a fake marriage show. But number four takes the cake for me. Their longing and constant remembrance of each other just makes me wanna shout, "Talk to him/her already! What are you waiting for!!"
