*Knock* *Knock* *Knock*  

 

Wrapping a knitted scarf around his neck, Sehun heads for the door, opening it to reveal a Jongin who leaps in to glomp the other.

“Happy one year anniversary Hunnie! Are you ready to come with me to see the Christmas lights like you promised?” Jongin asked while grinning like a child who had just received candy.  

Sehun replies with an eager nod and a bright smile making Jongin feel warm and fuzzy inside.

“I’m ready. Let’s go before it gets too late in the evening.”

Grabbing onto Sehun’s hand, Jongin leads the two towards the park which was full of trees decorated with beautiful colored lights making the place light up with happiness and festivity.

Couples and families stroll around, looking at the decorations. The lake in the middle of the park reflected the lights and shone with a variety of colors.

Gazing around the park, Sehun couldn’t help but feel warm inside. “Nini, isn’t this place just so beautiful? It’s just so- so perfect and breathtaking” Sehun beamed with his eyes sparkling and his lips curving upwards.

Chuckling at the others cuteness, Jongin couldn’t help but to ruffle the younger’s fluffy dark brown hair. “Of course the lights are beautiful, but they don’t stand a chance against your beauty.” Jongin replied smoothly.  

Lightly shoving Jongin to the side, Sehun turned his head away to avoid Jongin noticing the blush that was creeping up on his cheeks.

“That is so cheesy! How did I ever fall in love with you?”                                               

“Don’t be like that Sehunnie, that’s the reason why you love me so much!”

Pretending to ignore the other’s words, Sehun quickens his speed leaving Jongin behind in his tracks. “Sorry dude, but I don’t know you. Go bother someone else.” Sehun called out, while attempting to suppress a laugh but failing miserably as he tried to hid it behind his hands.

“Come back you beautiful stranger! Can I at least have your heart?” Jongin teases and starts chasing after the other.

Sehun fled from the older.“You’ll never get me alive!”

But Jongin was faster and quickly latches onto Sehun’s arm.

“I’ll never let you go!”    

They both giggled and grinned at each other. Their eyes locked and they began to draw closer to each other, slowly leaning in towards one another with their lips inches apart. They were about to kiss when a snowflake suddenly appears and falls gently onto Sehun’s nose, making Jongin chuckle before they both look up at the night sky, sprinkled with hundreds of small white dots descending from the up above.

Sehun shivers and hugged his coat closer to himself. Noticing that Sehun didn’t have any gloves on, Jongin takes his left glove off and grabs Sehun’s left hand before placing it on.
“But won’t your other hand get cold?” The younger asks.

“With you, all I can feel is warmth.” Jongin jokes with a sly grin before grabbing onto Sehun’s right hand and placing a small kiss on the back and giving it a slight squeeze of assurance.

“It’s getting late. We should start to head home” Jongin suggests. Sehun nods in agreement and the two head back to Sehun’s apartment.

After reaching the apartment. Unwilling to end the date there, Sehun invites Jongin inside to stay a bit longer.

“Hunnie look.” Jongin points up. Sehun follows the other’s gaze to find themselves standing beneath a small plant, tied up with a red ribbon. A courtesy of Sehun’s roommate, Baekhyun. They both looked at each other, noticing the blush that was decorating the other’s face. Sehun began to feel a bit shy and embarrassed so he quickly gave Jongin a small peck on the lips and headed into the living room. Even after being with Jongin for an entire year, Sehun still can’t help but feel like it’s the first time when he initiated anything intimate with Jongin.

“Sehun-ah, how about you get warm and cozy on the couch. I’ll make something warm for us both to drink.” Jongin offers as they walked into the living room.

“Sure. Thanks, Nini.”

Grabbing the fuzzy blanket on the couch and snuggling underneath it, Sehun waited for Jongin to come out of the kitchen.

After a few minutes, Jongin comes out with two warm mugs of hot chocolate with marshmallows piled high. Handing one of the mugs to Sehun, Jongin grabs a part of the blanket Sehun was using and snuggles under it next to his boyfriend.

“Hey, Nini?”

Jongin looks up from his mug with a chocolate mustache above his lips. “Yeah?”

The younger and leans in, wiping the chocolate off the other with his fingers. “I have something for you.”

He places the hot chocolate on the side table and reaches into his pocket, pulling out a small box, tied with a small white ribbon.

“Thank you Hunnie.” Jongin takes the box and opens it to reveal a silver necklace with a picture of the two of them on their first date at an ice skating rink. In the picture, Sehun was clinging onto Jongin for dear life as he didn’t know how to skate.

The older laughs at the memories. “Remember when you fell and you couldn’t get back up because it was too slippery?”

“Hey! It was my first time skating!”

“You were too cute. You really fell for me huh?”

“Shut up”

“Aww don’t be mad Hunnie, I was only playing. And here’s my gift to you.”

Jongin pulls a small jar from his coat filled with hundreds of small pieces of folded paper tucked in neatly.

“What is this?”

“Starting from the first day, you stole my heart and after that I fell more in love with you with each day we spend together so I wrote a little message for you every single day.”

Sehun’s eyes teared up a little and pulled his boyfriend into a bear hug. “Jongin, I love you so much.

“I love you more.”

“Jongin, don’t start this because we both know that I love you more.”

“Well I love you deeper than the sea and higher than the universe!”

“I don’t know how I can stand being around you.”

“That’s why you’re sitting.”
“Jongin!”

“Okay, okay. I’ll stop. You should read what I wrote!”

Sehun takes off the bow and sticks it on top of Jongin’s head. “You’re my second present for later.”
“I’ll look forward to it then.” Jongin answers in a low creepy voice, leaning in closer with a sly smirk.
Sehun just smacks the side of the older’s head before opening the jar up.

Taking a small letter out of the jar, Sehun begins to read them, reading the first to himself and after giving Jongin “the look,” he began to read them aloud.

“Hun-Hun, did you know? If you were a triangle you’d be acute one.”

“Sehun-ah, from the moment I first saw you I thought that you had a pizza my heart.”

“Hunnie, don’t you know that I love you from my head tomatoes?”  

“Sehunnie~ can’t you see that words can’t espresso how much you mean to me?”

“Hunnie-bear, I wanted to ask if you have a bandaid because I scraped my knees falling for you~”

“Nini…. I never could’ve imagined you being cuter but I stand corrected. What did I do to ever deserve you?” Small tears were beginning to fall from the younger’s eyes from the overwhelming happiness he felt.

“Awww, my Sehunnie only deserves the best because I love you.” Wiping away the tears from the younger’s face Jongin places a sweet kiss on his lips.

After a moment of feeling each other’s warmth, Jongin stands up gathering the two empty mugs and heads towards the kitchen.

He returns to find Sehun snuggling in a blanket while yawning cutely and thinks that the other must be tired from their date.

“Hunnie, I think our date should end here. I’ll stop by tomorrow to visit you.” Jongin suggests.

“Noooo~ Stay with me. Can’t you stay over?” The younger pleads Jongin with puppydog eyes.

“Well since you asked and I can’t say no to you, I’ll stay over.”     

Eyes lighting up, Sehun takes a hold of Jongin’s hand and leads him into his bedroom. The two snuggle under the covers.

“Nini?”

“Yes Hunnie?”  

“...Thank you.”

“For what?”

“For showering me with love everyday and for always being there for me.”

Smiling brightly Jongin wrapped his arms around the younger’s waist and squished them closer, tangling their legs together. Cuddling until they both fall asleep in each other’s arms.
