Darkness clung to the city like a blanket in the cold, the shy light of the moon doing little to break through its thick haze. It seemed as if there were no sounds: a complete silence hugged the sleeping city. Only those who possessed not a drop of human blood were awake. No one could see them, no one could feel them. And yet, they were there. 

The youngest of their folks were buzzing with energy. It was their time to shine finally. They could show that the many years they had spent in school were finally paying off.

And they were proud to do so. 

After all, who would bring dreams to the living if not them?
