A MATCH MADE FROM HEAVEN // MATCHES SET. BEST OF LUCK ~✕
After nine years of her start up business becoming her reality, you'd think that Heaven would have found someone to take over the main operating systems of her company so she could take some much needed rest and time off to do other life fulfilling things. However, Heaven was extremely picky about who she let work in her company, and so it stayed pretty small in number, only to expand in RAM and technology. Her employees were well-paid and were more than satisified and happy to do the work they were given, so Heaven wouldn't have it any other way.
She had made many matches, and not all of them had ended well, she'll even admit to her failures. However, her website had a very goos record of making matches and keeping them. If it didn't work out, you'd simply send an email and they'd try again to find another match if that's what you wanted. Heaven was determined to find everyone who asked their perfect match. While her employees handled many of the usual requests from the database, Heaven usually was brought in and personally took on those who were of 'higher status' (i.e. celebrities) or those who she felt like she wanted to help with. It was hard to keep her hands out of many matches, honestly, but her employees weren't hand picked for nothing.
With the end of the day drawing to a close, Heaven was more than ready to head out after countiess in-person interviews (with celebrities, CEO and politian's kids, even a few older citizens who just really struck her as wanting to help) but was stuck scheduling a few more interviews amongst the free time everyone had tomorrow. She sighed, running her hands through her hair, her bun having been undone long ago as the day drew to a close.
"Let's see..." She clicked through, rolling her eyes as she saw an all-too familiar name, "I told her I wasn't going to match her, and yet every month I find her application tucked into everything else. She clicked through another, groaning as she saw another high profile name. "I love my job, I love my job... hopefully they won't be anything like the brat that was in here earlier, giving me all those requirements and expecting me to find someone who'd match everything to a T... Honestly." SHe huffed, scheduling them for her 3 o'clock slot and sending an email of confirmation.
Riiiiing. Riiiiiing. Riiiiiiiiin-- "Hello, this is Match Made from Heaven, this is Heaven speaking. How may I assist you?" She asked, her eyes never straying from the screen as she clicked through more of the appointments that needed to be scheduled.
"Are you ever going to come home or should I feed your dinner to the cat again?" Her sister sighed on the other line, making Heaven chuckle as she scheduled another two appointments with her top interviewers. Their schedule was tight, she noted, and she made sure to put in that they should leave early the next day. It wasn't fair to work them back to back to back and then expect them to linger around when they were bound to be exhausted.
"I'm ten seconds away from placing her on the table if I don't hear from you."
Heaven laughed, pushing herself away from the computer and grabbing her bag as she looked for her keys, "I have only a few more interviews to schedule for tomorrow and I'll be home." She clicked through a few more, pausing to drag a few into her own schedule.
"As long as you're free Saturday, you promised you'd take a day off and I won't let you back out of it again!" Celeste chided, reminding both sisters of the last coupel of weeks where Heaven had said she'd take days off, then would end up putting in overtime those days instead.
"You should like mom," Heaven smiled, continuing typing away notes on what to expect the interviews, "But I promise. You can lock the door and hide my car keys and train station card to be sure."
That got a laugh out of Celeste. "Got it. Anyone interesting lately?" Heaven scrolled through the reamining five matches. "Quite a few, as usual, but I can't personally interview them all." She sighed. "I can schedule the rest of them from home, don't you think?"
"i think you totally can while I binge watch SBS Roommate." Celeste seemed excited at the prospect of her sister being there during her favorite show. "Haven't you watched that show like, six times all the way through already?"
"I focus on a new member each time I watch." Celeste cut her off. Heaven laughed again, saving the schedule's current standings and getting up from the desk, turning off the computer and slinging her bag over her shoulder while cradling the phone with her shoulder.
Heaven checked her watch, "I should be back in thirty, it's late enough that traffic shouldn't be bad. See you soon, and make sure that cat doesn't eat my food!"
"See you, and if he can get up on the table, I think he deserves it." And with that, she hung up and was well on her way home.
LATER THAT EVENING...
Celeste was laughing outrageously on some idol and comedian duo on Roommate, wwhile Heaven intently typed and clicked away on various emails and paying various bills and fees, including some employee's paychecks. Nothing new was coming up, and so Heaven decided to take a break from the screen and find something else.
"Celeste, where's the mail from today? Did you pick it up?" She asked, heading over to the dining table. Celeste nodded absently, the majority of her attention still on the screen, "Yeah, I did. There's a few invitations in there, as usual. Are you going to go to all of them?"
"Maybe," Heaven leafed through, finding the expensive feeling envelopes and opening them, glazing over the names, barely recognizing them (she's done this many a time over, really, and she can't remember everyone, not matter how good her memory was) and tucking them later to check with her planner. She wanted to congratualte all of her successful couples, but even she had limits to her capabilities of travel and appearance.
She reached the last letter, pausing as she read the name, ripping it open carefully and reading the invitation with unbelieving eyes.
You're Invited to the marriage of Ashleigh Colling and Hanbyul Jang! The invitation itself was as elegant and expensive as she expected it to be, and it included a handwritten message from Mr. Colling: Dear Ms. Boo, We are very pleased to have this announcement now finally in your hands. We will cover all your airfare and expenses to come down for the wedding, however, we need help coordinating everything and I'd like to ask your help. Please call me at your earliest conveience so we may arrange a meeting.
Heaven leaned against the counter, sighing as she read the message. While she didn't think she had the time, she couldn't very well say no to the man who gave her the loan to set up her business.
"So Hanbyul finally came around, huh?" Heaven shook her head, taking out her planner to make a note to call Mr. Colling in her early morning break to hopefully catch him before his work day began as well. Not only a matchmaker, but a wedding planner? It was a first for Heaven, but hey... like she said, she couldn't very well say no to this.
