NUGATORY CRUSH

"Are you alright," Kyu Jong gently spoke, an arm around her back, with his ever-tender voice. He lowered himself onto the seat beside hers. Don't you see why? Kyu Jong was always soft and caring; always gentle and tender. Kyu Jong would always sense when something was wrong, and hence offering all his assistance to amend it.

"Hey," he whispered again, bending lower to study her expression. The one thing Kyu Jong couldn't do was phrase questions right.

"Yes, I'm good," what else could he expect her to whisper back? Many people know the fact that Kyu Jong have been having a large crush on Jin Hye for many years, secretly pinning onto the hope that she will one day look upon him as a real man...not just her black knight when she's fighting a war. Young Saeng sighed in sympathy from behind the pillar when Kyu Jong's expression fell.

He nodded, "my room is where you can find me if you need me."

Kyu Jong left and Hyung Jun took his spot.

"I have something really wonderful to show you," Hyung Jun sat down and began twisting his fingers around. "Do you see it?" he motioned his head towards the shadows on the wall. "It's a rabbit!"

Hyung Jun was always cheerful always smiling; he was always insane, always laughing. He would know when something was wrong, but if he can't change it, he wouldn't highlight it. In this case, making her happy would be better than getting her to talk about it.

"Here's a cockerel too!" he said. Not many people know of the fact that Hyung Jun has a large crush on Jin Hye for several years and has been doing his best at generating happiness in her whenever she was upset. However, it wouldn't be necessary if one day she would look upon him as a real man...not just her royal jester when she's losing her smiles, he was just happy with her being happy. "Isn't it great?"

She smiled and nodded. Young Saeng's heart leapt when Hyung Jun stood up and left a long while later.

Perhaps, it was now his chance. Summoning all the courage he has, he was about to take a step out from behind the walls when Jung Min emerged. Young Saeng immediately fell back into the shadows.

"If I had attached a lie detector to you, it would be beeping like crazy right now," Jung Min casually said. Jung Min was always witty and sharp; he was always direct and to-the-point. Jung Min would always sense that something was wrong, and would know what exactly.

"I'm not lying."

"If I had to use three words to describe what's bothering you, I would say 'Hyun Joong Hyung'," Jung Min stated with the same nonchalance.

"We've already broken up. What's the big deal."

A very small handful of people know the fact that Jung Min has a large crush on Jin Hye for many years, always there to aid her whenever she crumbles. He had never expected her to look upon him as something more than a know-it-all big brother; never expected her to return the feelings...because Jung Min knew that her heart was filled with his Hyun Joong-hyung, no matter how badly his hyung was just toying with her. Now that they had officially broken up, he felt like a jerk for starting to actually hope she would look over.

"But you are still upset," Jung Min replied. "I suggest you cry since you've a shoulder here anyway. It's not like I don't know anything."

Young Saeng watched as Jin Hye lowered her head onto his broad shoulders, finally breaking down into soft sobs as she soaked Jung Min's shirt with her tears.

Young Saeng sighed, for he knew the ending. Jung Min would comfort her, talk to her, manage to get her to share her troubles; he would then pull some jokes, make her laugh and smile and feel all better; Jung Min would end up having the power to allow her to momentarily forget their great big Hyun Joong hyung.

Young Saeng turned away from the shadows of his hiding place. No one knows how much he actually loved Jin Hye; no one knows how often he sneaked around that same pillar listening to her every loud thought. Young Saeng was always nothing and will always be nothing. He would never expect her to even throw a meaningful glance.

Don't you see? If Hyun Joong hyung was her prince, Kyu Jong her knight, Hyung Jun her royal jester and Jung Min her golden big brother...then Young Saeng was nothing.

Nothing at all.
