Mengxi was quite unlike her usual self. She only sat by the pond, looking at her own reflection like she was regretting on something. I wanted to approach her and asked her what had happened to her. But unfortunately my position within the place only as the Courty Lady and it prevent me from asking too many questions. However, Mengxi never liked being asked, she was always quite if she was aksed something she was uncomfortable about. So, as a watcher, I only looked at her back, waiting for her to stand up.

"If I'm gone, what are you going to do, Yue?" 

Her questions startled me. 

"Why are you asking such questions, my lady?"

Mengxi turned her head and her gaze rest upon mine. The moonlight shone on her face and even so, she still looked so beautiful and charming. No wonder the tale of many men had been swayed by Mengxi were true. Even as a girl, I was bewitched by her unearthly beauty. 

"I have seen myself dying through the reflection of the pond."

"The pond can't do prophecy." 

However, Mengxi still believed she was going to die. I thought she was joking and she only said that because she had some problem since her brother arranged a marriage for her and she refused to do so. For Mengxi, she really valued true love, which is why marrying an unknown Prince from a foreign land broke her heart. I never know if she had loved someone, but in my opinion she was. Otherwise, she wouldn't feel so dejected.

But then, I was wrong.
