Day 1.

It started with the drop of a pen. We were sitting in our English II class just minutes before the class let out, I could tell he was a freshman. His lips formed into a genuine smile as he handed me the fallen pen. I knew from that moment, that I’d enjoy watching his bright eyes turn dull and his smile fade into nothingness. I wanted nothing more than to ruin him. I wanted to watch him slowly lose his light and innocence. I wanted his enthusiasm to turn to dread. I wanted to destroy him and hurt him as much as I had been hurt in my life. I wanted someone else to feel the pain I felt.

“Thanks,” I said, with my perfectly mastered fake smile.

“You’re very welcome” the boy grinned back.

“I’m JB, and you?”

The boy answered with smiling eyes, “My name is Youngjae.”

That’s how it started.
