161225 Merry Christmas     Christmas.    Everyone outside is having fun in their pairs or groups yet here you are, sulking alone at home. You sigh. It isn’t like you to be mad over things like this. Yes, he’s late, but he had no control over his flight delay, had he? You risk a glance at the dining table, your dinner of steak and pasta running cold.   “When are you coming back?” You ask no one in particular.   Well, at least it’s not snowing outside. A white Christmas without him would just provoke you further. The living room you sit in is dark save for the rose scented candle lighted up before you. It was meant to create a romantic atmosphere in which you planned to celebrate tonight with him. But now, its sole purpose is to provide illumination as you read a book. You think about how you probably should have made use of electricity but the bright glare of LED would be an insult to your dark mood.   You don’t realise how late it has become until you feel your eyelids droop in weight. Maybe if you closed your eyes for just a while…   The sound of keys jingling outside catches your attention. Jumping up in anticipation, you dash for the door only to accidentally trip over your own feet.   “Ow!” You cuss under your breath. The door immediately flies open and the one you’ve been waiting for runs in. He gets down on one knee before you as he holds you up.   “Are you okay?” He asks, his voice full of worry. “Why didn’t you turn on the lights?”   You smile guiltily. “To save electricity?”   He shakes his head. Now, looking into each other’s eyes, he drops the bags he’s holding in his hands and pulls you into a hug.   “Sorry I’m late,” he whispers, his arms tightening around you as he buries his face into your neck. You wrap your own arms around him and you feel his body relax against you as he tries to regulate his breathing.   “Did you rush back from the airport?” You ask unnecessarily. You frown when you feel his nod – there was no need for him to hurry.   “I- I wanted to come home before the day ended,” he tells you. “I promised I would celebrate
