Resources

(Attempting) To Learn Korean!!

There are a ZILLION resources for those who want to learn Korean!! But many people still can't find the right one. Well, you have to choose which ones work for you. For example, I think it would be awesome if I had Rosetta Stone for Korean, but I don't because it's very expensive!! So, I have to use other resources.

Here are some resources I used, like to use, and will be using:

genkikorean.com

  • this is the website I used to learn how to read Hangul (I already can read it fairly well)

quizlet.com

  • the sight I think is most helpful for learning vocabulary and phrases

There are also some other sights people like to recommend, which I will probably use in the future, especially when it comes to grammar and such:

http://www.learnkorean.com/

http://www.howtostudykorean.com/

http://www.asianfanfics.com/story/view/1066252/7/just-to-kill-time-you-funtime-relax

  • I actually made this myself lol

If you want to, you could join my "Class" on quizlet, which is just a collection of different Korean flashcards.

Here are also some lessons from memrise that are very helpful and that I'll actually be using a bit.

Nouns:

Adjectives:

Verbs:

Adverbs:

What I'll be doing is studying five from each set. Of course, they all have different amount of vocab lol but I am focused on studying 20 words per week, that's why. I'll have every fourth week be soley for review.

Okay, let's get started :)

Good luck in studying Korean! I'm also studying the language but not really excessive. Since I'm busy right now, I only rely to my Korean students. Btw, I teach English to Korean students and I learn Korean from them also. If you feel like reading Korean passages and want to test yourself how far you understand it. I could give you some samples of the passages (Korean and the translation in English). I also have Phonics and Pre-school books. It could teach you a little of grammar. It does not talk about grammar actually but you will notice the patterns of their sentences. It's easy to understand cause the words are very basic and for beginners.

Chapter 4: OOOO!! You're studying korean?? So am I! I've been doing it for a few months now. I use this software called Anki instead of Quizlet or my flashcards.
