Another rainy weekend. You and Kyungsoo had a day off, so you decided to just stay in since the weather was bad. You had always prefered staying home and spending time together than going out to fancy restaurants or dates. You would always watch a movie together and cuddle on couch. His presence would be enough for you to make you happy. But lately he was so busy, you don't even remember when you two last watched a movie together. Filming for his new role was getting closer, so he would spend most of the time learning his script, which would mean you being quiet and try not to bother him. You didn't wanted to complain about how little you spend your time together since he started filming and having his regular schedule with EXO, but it was his career, and it was important to him. So you tried to be understanding and just deal with it.
Daylight of the cloudy sky came in trough the covers on windows, and the fresh cold air filled the living room as one window was opened and let the sound of rain in. Kyungsoo was sitting comfortably in his chair, reading his new script and drinking coffee.  You were laying there on couch, covered with a soft grey blanket, holding a mug with hot chocolate. Looking outside the window, your mind wandered off. Forgetting about everything around you, you starred blankly in empty space, amercing into the calming sound of raindrops on the window.  Letting out a sigh, you close your eyes and thoughtWhere did it went wrong?.

Lately, you felt some kind of coldness towards Kyungsoo, it felt like you two are drifting apart. It had started to feel like you two just live together. Thinking of when he last hugged you, you felt like it passed months. The unexpected forehead kisses, hugs, his laugh, it all seemed like faint memory. You both had been trough rough time since his group became more popular, so he was attending more events and would be away from home a lot. He had an upcoming tour so they would practice all day and into late at night. He also got a role in new movie, so whenever he had free schedule he would be filming. The only time you actually spent together was when he would come late at night, but he would be tired so he would went to sleep right away. There would be times when he would talk with you but it was rare.  You would spend everyday alone, waiting for him to come home. You would even be happy if you could see him before you fell asleep, since he came home late and went out early in the morning. So you just thought that is how it is supposed to be. How it is going to be from now on. And that you should just accept it. But you felt empty and sad. The person who made you feel the most happiest on earth is like a stranger now. 

" Are you okay, _____? " a soft voice made you snap out of your thoughts, moving your head to your boyfriend to see his face looking towards you. Nodding lightly at him, you fake a smile " I am okay. Just lost in thoughts. " and look back at the window. Thinking for a few seconds, you stand up from sofa, taking your blanket with you and heading to bedroom. " Where are you going? " Kyungsoo asked, putting his script on the coffee table and taking off his glasses. " I am tired. I will go to bed early tonight. " you said as you continued walking. Closing the door behind you, you take a deep breath. You felt tears coming up to your face, but wanted to hold them in. " Not tonight, I just want to sleep. " you said to yourself as you took another deep breath, trying to calm yourself down. It was supposed to be the night where you would actually talk or just watch anything on tv. Anything would be enough, even if he would just smile at you. But it was the same as always. You sitting there in silence. You even started to ask yourself if your relationship could go on like this. All you wanted was for him to hug you and show you that he loves you. That he cares about you.
Hearing footsteps following you, you quickly brush off tear that rolled down your cheek. As Kyungsoo got in the room, he gently closed the door and hesitated for a few seconds. You had your back turned to him and you could sense that he was nervous. Did he noticed, you think to yourself and let him say something first. " Hey, ______.... are you okay? " he said quietly, still standing at the door not knowing if he should come closer to you or not. Hearing his words, you slowly turn around to him, looking him in the eyes. You just gulped and suddenly felt like your voice disappeared. You lightly shook your head and you felt tears coming to your face. Clenching your fists, you try to stay calm and breathe it out. Still looking at you, he noticed your teary eyes and came closer to you, taking your hand in his. As his face expression changed, he asked quietly " What's wrong _______? Why are you crying? ". Looking away from him, you looked to the floor and tried to control your tears. Gulping once again, you try to answer but it's still hard. " Kyungsoo.... please, just leave me alone. " you say as you turn away from him, feeling like you will start crying any second. " _______, what's wrong? " he kept asking, now in more firm voice and tried to take your hand in his again, when you pulled it away and started walking towards the door.  Walking to the living room, you take your jacket and grab the keys, putting on your shoes, feeling the tears are coming down your face and you felt so much pain. " _______! Wait, where are you going? What is going on?! " Kyungsoo asked as he followed you, but you didn't said a word. You just unlocked the door and ran down the stairs crying. Stepping out the building, you saw the rain was pouring hard and you just walked out. You didn't cared if you would get wet, you just wanted to go somewhere. Anywhere was better than that apartment. You started walking, when you heard your name " _________! Wait! Where are you going, it's raining! ". Hearing his voice made you hurt even more. You felt tears were streaming down your face. The cold rain was like a painful sting on your skin, but it you didn't care. Suddenly you felt a hand on your shoulder and you turned around. " ______... What is happening? You are scaring me.... please say something... " he said as the raindrops rolled down his face. You saw he was all wet already. Turning around again you wanted to walk away but he caught your hand with his. Standing with your back to him, you start talking with a shaky voice  " You ask me what is wrong? Why are we like this... we live like strangers, I don't even see you anymore. You just come home to sleep. When was the last time we spent together, laughing, hugging, anything? When was the last time you showed me any kind of affection. Do you even love me anymore? " and close your eyes. Kyungsoo froze for a second, after hearing your words. He was silent for a few seconds, when he started talking " ______... what are you talking about... Why do you think I don't love you? ". You clenched your fists and took a deep breath " We are not like before... it feels like forever since I last felt happy. I tried so hard to be understanding and support you with your career, but I can't anymore. Not if this is how our life will look like from now on. ". He was thinking for few seconds, being all quiet. He knew he was busy, but he didn't saw what he did to you. Thinking about past weeks, he realized it's true. He had distanced himself from you.  " _____... I am so sorry..." - " I don't understand why you keep pushing me away like this..." - "  I am sorry... I didn't wanted to. " - " You think sorry can fix this? Do you know how lonely I felt? Do you know how it feels like when someone who made you happy everyday now makes you sad? Do you even really love me anymore? " you broke out in tears, feeling how your clothes were soaked wet and the coldness sting your body.  " I do! I love you! Why would I stop loving you? You were the only thing that gave me strength these past months. Everyday I would wake up, I felt like giving up on everything, but then I would see your face. You gave me strength to wake up every morning. Even though every day would be hard, I knew I would see you when I get home. I am sorry I acted this way... I know I should've spent more time with you and give you what you deserve. It's hard for me too, do you think I am happy like this? Do you think I don't miss those old days? But I never stopped loving you, ____. I would give everything for you. " - " I don't know... I can't go like this anymore. " you said as you sighed " I still love you, Kyungsoo. But you just keep pushing me away. " and start walking away from him.

If you walk away, everyday it will rain, rain, rain...

 Standing frozen for few seconds, he looked at you walking away. Starting to shake, he runs after you and grabs your hand. You stop but you don't turn around, lowering your head down and feeling your heart breaking. " Kyungsoo... " you say softly, your voice breaking. " Please, ____. I love you. I can't live without you. I can't imagine not waking up next to you. I love you so much. I love your soft sighs when you are asleep, when you giggle every time I kiss you, how beautiful you are even just wearing my shirt. I love how we used to cook together, how you would always welcome me with the brightest smile when I would come home. I love your hugs, your soft skin, the feeling of your lips on mine. Please... don't walk away from me. We can make this work. I will change this, I promise. Please... Don't leave me. " he said trembling, his voice breaking from tears. Hearing his words, you closed your eyes and turned around to him, hugging him tightly. Both crying, he pressed you closely to him. You could feel his heartbeat in his chest. Looking at him, you whisper softly " Kyungsoo..." - " I love you, _____. I really do. I promise you, it will be the same as before. This will pass soon and we can be happy again together. Just trust me, okay? " he said softly, placing his hand on your chin, pulling you into kiss. The moment you felt his lips on yours, tears run down your face and you hugged him tightly. You felt warmness in his hug and his lips again. In that moment, you forgot about the coldness of rain and everything around you. You nod your head lightly, looking him in the eyes and softly whispering " I love you too, Kyungsoo. ",  placing your head on his chest, feeling like you are safe now. Looking at you, he kissed your temple and softly whispered " I will always protect you. ".
