Jin rested his chin on the dinner table. His eyes looked straight to the untouched fried noodles. He sighed loudly and stood up from the chair. Jin picked up the plate and took it to the kitchen counter to wrap the food with plastic cling wrap. There was not even a hint of happiness on his face. His expression was tired and a bit sulky. Jin was already placing the plate inside the refrigerator when the front door opened, followed by a mumbled “I’m home.”

Jin frowned. He wanted to get angry. He wanted to sulk and make the younger feel bad. He wanted to nag, but he knew it’s useless. This isn’t the first time Jungkook came home late but it still ticked Jin. He doesn’t want to be the control-freak kind husband either. So he decided to keep quiet and slip into the bedroom before Jungkook could see that he was still up.

“Princess?”

Jin’s attempt was broken when the younger suddenly decided to turn on the living room lights. Jin grinned at his husband and waved. “Oh, you’re back.” Jin said, trying to hide the disappointment in his voice. Jungkook pouted. “Baby, I’m sorry, were you waiting for me?” Jungkook cooed as he approached Jin. Jin looked down and bit his lips. “N-no, I was just getting some water.” Jin mumbled. He felt tears prickling in his eyes. Jungkook sensed the elder’s turmoil and wrapped his hands around Jin’s waist to comfort him. He nuzzled his face into the elder’s neck, making Jin blush a little. They’ve done this countless times during their 3 years of marriage but it never failed to make Jin flustered.

Jungkook stared into Jin’s eyes. “You’re mad at me?” He pouted. Jin sighed. How could someone be so cute at the age of 23? Jin ruffled his hair and shook his head. “No I’m not. You’re busy at work, I understand.” Jin gave Jungkook a slight smile. He knew Jungkook was busy with his work at the office, but Jin couldn’t help but feel a little irritated that Jungkook almost never comes home for dinner nowadays. Jungkook would go out to work at 7 am and only comes home around 11 pm. Jin stays at home most of the time and although he tried to be understanding, he couldn’t help but feel a little lonely.

“Why did you wait for me, I told you not to.” Jungkook asked Jin. “I told you I wasn’t, I was getting a drink.” Jin said, looking away. Jungkook frowned. “Don’t lie to me Seokjin.” Jungkook’s voice was stern and it made Jin flinch a bit. “So what if I waited? Is it wrong for me to want to spend a little time with you?” Jin retorted. His voice trembled. He was on the edge of breaking. Jungkook sighed and caressed Jin’s cheek. “Just a little more and I’ll quit this job. Please stay put with me Seokjin-ah.” Jungkook said as he held Jin’s hand, making the elder’s heart flutter. Jin looked at him. “If you quit then how are we going to survive?” He asked. “I got an offer from another firm. A job which does not prevent me from spending time with my beloved husband at home~” Jungkook said and pecked Jin’s lips. Jin’s lips formed a smile. “You sure?” Jin asked. Jungkook nodded. “I promise.” Jungkook said assuringly. Jin nodded and Jungkook let go of his hands. He patted on Jin’s cheek. “Now go to sleep. I told you not to wait for me.” Jungkook pouted again. Jin leaned in to kiss the pout, making Jungkook grin. Jin felt warm. He loved seeing the toothy grin on the younger. Jin didn’t want to go to bed alone. It is rare that they get to spend some time together in the house, so he might as well make some use for it. “Have you eaten?” Jin asked, concerned.

Jungkook bit his lips and pondered. If he said he didn’t, then Jin must insist on making something for him and the elder won’t get to rest. So he thought he should say he did.

“You haven’t. Come, I’ll heat up some fried noodles for you.” Jin said with a slight smile. Jungkook sighed in defeat. Jin could read right through him, exactly what he loved from the elder. Jungkook sat at the dining table as he watched Jin scoop up some noodles from the fridge and placed it in the microwave. “Wait, Jin, have you eaten?” Jungkook asked, confused as to why there were so much leftovers in the fridge. Jin didn’t answer, he simply smiled at his husband. “Seeing you eat happily already makes me full.” Jin giggled. Jungkook laughed at the elder’s cheesy line.

“Jin,” Jungkook called.

“Yep?” Seokjin said, his back sti
