Presentation
Mint! - Writing TutorialBad presentation turns off many people. It's better to keep it simple than ugly.
Example of Simple:

Example of ugly:
Ugly
This is example of ugly isn't necessarily ugly, however it is difficult to read and doesn't appeal to many people.
COLOR
When coloring titles, or subtitles, try to keep the colors darker (if they have a white background). Examples of colors you should avoid using are:
this | this | this | this
Here are some other choices you can use instead:
this | this | this | this
However, if you disagree with me on this one, feel free. These are just suggestions.
FONT AND SIZE
If you read a novel, the font that is used most often is 'cambria.' The font size varies, but are usually not too big, and not too small. I suggest you use either fonts 12 (twelve) or 14 (fourteen). However, the automatic size and font used when you open a chapter is another good choice. Avoid using large fonts for the body because they look quite unappealing. Also, these are some fonts NOT to use:
Tahoma | Courier New | Courier | Comic San MS | Arial Black | Impact
POSTER, BACKGROUND, TITLE
If you have a poster, make sure it fits in with your background (if you have one) and color pallet. Say, if your poster's color is green, but your subheading and background is red, then it's not going to look good. However, if your poster, background and subheading was all red, then it would look a lot nicer.
INDENTS
Indent: start (a line of text) or position (a block of text) further from the margin than the main part of the text.
This is an indent
This is not an indent.
You may already know, but in case you didn't, the indents on AFF are designed to indent the whole paragraph. However, most indents are meant to only be on the first line of a paragraph. If you are going to use indents on AFF, maybe just copy 9 spaces (like this) and paste it in front of the sentence.
Okay, so indents are most commonly used in novels and other different bodies of writing. You're probably asking 'How do I use an indent?' well, indents are used at the start of a paragraph, including dialogue. Indents are used like this:
Ut metus enim, vestibulum sit amet egestas eu, dapibus et ipsum. Quisque nisl nunc, fringilla a mi in, ultricies imperdiet ex. Vivamus laoreet orci ut metus vehic
