Description
Chanyeol has been working in the SM Ops for nearly 3 years now. Up until this day, he has never found anything that could make him want to quit his job. The tasks given to him were fairly simple: Don't get emotionally involved with anyone, complete your job, and erase any evidence left behind. But one day, a certain someone by the name of Baekhyun came to wring out Chanyeol's comfortable life into one of confusion and heartbreak.
Disclaimer: This story is slightly part of the fantasy genre. Baekhyun is half-monster, half-human (further explained in later chapters). The special forces included in this story are made purely from my imagination as I do not have a clue of how the FBI works in real life, so please expect it to operate differently from what it's like in reality. This story is just for entertainment.

Foreword
The sounds of rapid gunfire could be heard replaying itself over and over again. Whether it was to drown out the sounds of his comrades' pained screams-- or to constantly remind him that he was in a world of war, Chanyeol didn't know. But he continued to trudge forward despite the rigid fabric of his boots digging into his bare and blistered feet. Suddenly, a trembling hand clutched his ankle and when Chanyeol's frosty eyes gazed down, they locked with innocent orbs of chocolate.
"Please... I'm begging you. Take me with you"
And Chanyeol didn't know, he didn't know what had possessed him to encase the frail boy in his strong arms, gloved hands pressing into the muddy skin of the silent boy. Maybe it was because of the pathetic state this child was in. Or perhaps it was the image of a boy caged in fire and hell that reminded him of his own pitiful childhood. Either way, this was the first and last time he would allow his emotions to overlap with his work.
He was so stupid. He should have never spared the boy a glance.
Because if he hadn't, Chanyeol wouldn't be in this position right now. Caught between his duty as an Ops officer and his duty as a partner.
He didn't know. Chanyeol never knows.
