I remember that night. I was walking to the night market with my childhood friend Kris. Ever since I could remember he was always there. Our parents even said that theyou couldn't even remember a day he wasn't here with me. Although Kris has been distancing himself from me as of late. I don't know if it's because we're growing up and life is getting a hold of us or that something is bothering him. I guess you could say it all started on his 16th birthday. I threw him a surprise birthday since he had been feeling down. I sent our friend Tao to bring him over to my house but only Kris returned. Tao was no where to be found. We searched for years until the police gave up on the case but Kris never moved on. Of course I was still upset that Tao was gone but in my heart I knew Kris was still waiting.

" Haneul..." I heard Kris say "Are you okay?" I snapped out of it and looked up from the ground. Kris was a few feet ahead of me I ran to catch up and smiled.

" Yeah I'm fine. Just thinking." He looked at me then turned away. Just as he always did. He never really was the same Tao was our glue but I've been trying like crazy to fix things and make our aura a little lighter.

Soon we arrived at the night market. The street was lit with the light from shops filled with clothing sweets or food. There was a store that I'd always wanted to go into. It was called " Cheongug ui jageun jogag " or in English " Little slice of Heaven " it was a sweets shop that had grown popular at the time for its chocolates. They're special order only on valentine's day so I've never had one. Due to the fact that I've always been single. Its not that I'm ugly or anything, it's just I never really wanted to be in a relationship. By the time we had walked past Little slice of Heaven I had lost Kris. I shouted his name and wandered towards the more empty parts of the night market since we agreed a while ago when we got separated that we would meet here. Again it was I who had gotten lost and it was also the first time we came to the night market together, we had always gone with our other friends. I never saw Kris more afraid he hugged me so tightly for such a long time people started to stare.

A few minutes passed and I still couldn't spot Kris. I started to get worried since the minute we are separated he panics. The loss of Tao really took its toll on him. From the corner of my eye I thought I saw Kris walk into a near alley way it was a bit darker but I was never really afraid of the dark. Kris on the other hand was totally afraid but that never crossed my mind. I walked closer towards Kris' figure when who I thought was Kris, when the figure turned around I saw a different man.

He was a lot shorter than Kris but from afar he looked taller. His face was slim and he had no double eyelid. His eyes were a dark brown so dark that they could almost pass off as black. His features were more feminine but I could tell he was a guy.

"Oh I'm sorry I thought you were someone else." I said bowing and started to quickly walk back towards the shops. The man grabbed my hand and smiled. I know who you're looking for. I was frightened and tried releasing my hand from his grasp but he was much stronger. The alley way was dark but I could still see the expression on his face. He smiled, it wasn't a creepy smile. Instead it was gentle and kind.

" Kris right? I know where he is. Follow me." He held my hand tightly and started to walk further into the alley. Before I knew it I had followed him into complete darkness. After that I felt light headed and every moment after that was blank.
