you can break my heart tonight

or any day

or this day

or tomorrow

or perhaps next year

or perhaps when we are just strangers

passing each other

with no history

of us being broken dreams and my

attempts of keeping you here and hopeful

and not drowning in tears

saying that you are okay doesn't assure me

at all but

it's not like you will care

if i am left in shambles

we're just two messed up people 

who wish to combust and be swallowed by

this world after all

we're just two souls waiting for something better 

or something worse

the contradiction, really

like that even matter to you

right?
