“Some people never go crazy. What truly horrible lives they’ve must had.”
Foreword
Let's be honest. The concept behind this story is not the most original--enslavement, revenge, drama/Stockholm syndrome/not really, so on. It's hard not to think of this as Old Boy's illegitimate kid with, say, Q. I actually don't encourage anyone to think otherwise. This is a story written with the Old Boy approach to "thriller," Joycian approach to run-on sentences, Joseph Heller's mind (or Molière or Gibson, whichever floats your boat) for wise crack, and the unofficially stolen characterization style of good old Laurence Sterne.
Read for double-edged relationships, high school flash-backs of an ex King-Bee, the boring life of a secretary moonlighting as a writer, stalkers, kidnappers, abuse of religion, pillows, piss, pillows steamed with piss, whips, chains, pancakes, glitter, velvet, vomit, mysterious bosses, business cards, unfortunate Chinese publishing agents, airplanes, engineered conspiracies, and all of the weirdest coincidences under the sun.
Or don't read. Your call.
