Moving Out

“Going back already?”

Hyesung mumbled hoarsely, rolled over to the side of his bed while calmly observing the other man who was busy putting on his socks. He must have slept for a while – an hour or two, maybe longer. Still, he didn’t see the sunray peeked through the curtain, so maybe it was still dawn?

“Ah sorry, did I wake you up?”

With one of his leg lifted up – still struggling to wear his sock, Eric turned his back and hopped closer to the bed. In the end, he decided to just discard that annoying piece of cloth and yanked himself on the small empty space next to his boyfriend’s torso.

“A meeting early in the morning,” He explained briefly while softly caressing the slender man’s hair.

“Uh, early meeting is ,” While secretly enjoying the gentle touch on his hair, Hyesung grumbled drowsily. If only he wasn’t this sleepy, he would want to stay awake and wait until the black haired man came back again.The truth was, he hated it when he couldn’t feel Eric’s body next to him when he woke up in the morning. As dangerous as it seemed to be, he already got too used to it, having the older man by his side.

“I know. I’ll come back early though. Want me to buy something for dinner?”

“Mmm… Pasta… Carbonara…” Casually, Hyesung lifted his arm and touched Eric’s wrist, slowly guiding the older man’s palm toward his cheek, “Can you cook that for me?”

“Anything for my prince,” Playfully, Eric pinched Hyesung’s chubby cheek, chuckling softly when his sleepy lover grumbled and tried to bite his hand, “So, my place later?”

“Mmm hmm,”

“Ah, by the way, I have an announcement,” Eric’s fingers slowly lingered back on the younger man’s brown hair as Hyesung opened one of his eyes, “I’ll move out of my apartment next week,”

“You WHAT?”

Hyesung abruptly sat up, and the sudden movement from the brunette almost made Eric fell off the bed. He quickly grasped the head of the bed and balanced himself again, facing the slender man who immediately gave him an apologetic stare.

“Sorry,” Carefully, Hyesung moved back and leaned his back against the headboard, so Eric could sat more comfortably next to him, “But, are you serious? You’ll move out? Why so sudden? Did something happen?”

“Calm Hyesung ah, nothing happened,” Eric’s gaze softened when he saw his boyfriend’s panicked expression. Ah, as always – he thought to himself – this man must think too much….

“But then… Why…” The brunette stopped midway, silently observing his partner’s serious look, and took a deep breath, “Where to?”

“Here,”

Hyesung blinked. And then he tilted his head slightly to his side. And blinked again.

Here.

He was preparing his heart to hear Eric said a place far away from his place, maybe another district, or worse, another city. But then… Here? Literally?

“You’ll move in to my place?” Carefully, the younger man asked, brain still spinning in attempt to digest the new information.

“Hmm, tempting, but that’s not what I mean,” Eric chuckled lightly when he saw Hyesung’s cute confused face, “I’ll move upstairs, a floor above you,”

“Upstairs… Above…” Hyesung continued with a blank face, totally confused right now, “You’ll move out of your apartment which is next to this building to a unit above me?But why?”

“Well, because our parents are close?” The black haired man shrugged his shoulder, while trying hard not to laugh at the other man’s blur expression, “Besides, you always said that walking to my apartment unit is a pain in the ,”

“That’s a joke, you moron!” Still flustered by the news, Hyesung couldn’t help but sighing out loudly. Of course, it was Eric Mun he was talking about, an alien that could do anything out of ordinary. He really couldn’t understand him sometimes – or most of the times actually…

“Aren’t you excited, Hyesung ah? With this, we don’t have to go our separate ways after we come from any event, and we can have countless elevator dates! It’ll be so much faster for me to go to your place, and I can disturb you every morning by jumping on the floor!”

“Wha… You’re crazy, really!” Hyesung couldn’t help but chuckling when he saw Eric’s beamed face. Still, in the end of the day, what really mattered was the fact that Eric didn’t move far away from him. In fact, they would become closer, and it would be even easier for them to meet each other! No need to play hide and seek anymore!

“Anyway Hyesung ah… I really need to go now…” The gentle touch oh the crown of his head pulled Hyesung back from his thought, and he immediately blushed when he saw Eric’s amused face. Immediately, he grabbed his pillow and threw it toward his weird lover – who was laughing hard right now.

“Yaah! Just go! Go!” Annoyed, Hyesung kicked the laughing man and hit him with another pillow, chuckled lightly when Eric fell down because of his attack. The smile remained on his face as Eric got up and patted his head lightly before planting a soft kiss on his forehead.

“Wait for me, okay? I’ll cook the most delicious pasta for you tonight,”

Hyesung only nodded slightly and smiled again when his lover pecked his lips before exiting his room – wearing only one sock. He watched in silence until the tall man disappeared from his sight, and slid down again, covering his body with his fluffy blanket.

“So… Upstairs, huh?” He mumbled to himself, lips curved upward as he slowly drifted into sleep again, secretly wishing for next week to come faster.
