My tutor Jinhwan

What could possible have gone through his mind, Jinhwan did not know, but he sure knew that this felt weird. Don’t get it wrong; Junhwe is a really nice guy. He has been kind to Jinhwan through this weird and upside-down time, and Jinhwan felt happy about it, but he was scared of what he might have thrown himself into. He had give this whole idea very little thought, it was a really spontaneous decision, and he hadn't really talked with Hanbin about this. And let's not forget that he have actually never tutored anyone else than Hanbin. No wait! Forget Hanbin! He is probably busy with that Chanwoo kid anyway. Beside, why would he need Hanbin’s approval? He was a strong independent young man who could make his own decisions. Jinhwan stamped with his foot at the thought and raised his head high up. Beside, Junhwe is a good kid. He was the one to offer a hand when he was left alone, so why wouldn’t Jinhwan return a favour?

Speaking of Junhwe.

Jinhwan looked at the door confused. Had he forgotten to ring the doorbell? Or had Junhwe forgotten the tutor lesson? No he couldn’t, they had texted each other for about 30 minutes ago that Jinhwan would starts going to his house. Maybe it was a trick after all? Jinhwan shook his head and chuckled. Junhwe was a good boy, he thought as he smiled to himself. The small boy looked at his watch. Five minutes has he been waiting, he could wait five more, he thought as he looked up at the clear sky. At least the weather was nice. He smiled to himself as he looked over at some neighbours passing Junhwe’s house, chatting and laughing. As they noticed Jinhwan, they were quick to wave at him in kindness.  Jinhwan looked at the neighbourhood and realised the warm and comfortable feeling this neighbourhood gave him.

Before Jinhwan was able to think anything further, the door flung open and a panting Junhwe smiled at him. “Sorry for the long wait.”

The doorbell rang through the absolutely normal-sized house, and footsteps of competition where heard afterwards. The two siblings ran as if their life was in danger towards the door, in order to be first. When Junhwe was a second to the door handle, he tripped on the carpet, making him fall. He felt a wind pass him and a girly laughter of victory rang through his ears. The younger sibling in form of a she-devil looked at Junhwe evilly before she turned to the door. In the same second as her hand touched the door handle a loud shout was heard in the room.

“YA KOO YE-JIN!” Junhwe shouted as his sister grabbed the door handle. “Don’t you dare open that door,” he said. He was fast on his feet and slammed his hand on his sister’s hand, holding a firm grip on his sisters daring hand.

“Yah! I want to meet this famous Kim Jinhwan!” she said desperate, eager to open the door and finally reveal the boy that filled her brothers mind. .

Junhwe prayed that his sister wouldn’t make a huge fuss about it. Junhwe may or may not have been talking about bringing home a friend, a precious friend, but it still was nothing to make a big deal out of!

“May or may not? Junhwe you made big deal by yourself!” she said as if she had read his mind, making Junhwe jump in his skin. She really is the she-devil. “You know what brother? All you ever talk about is this Jinhwan. You even called him a small fairy that saved your life!” she grinned evilly.

“Have I never said!” protested Junhwe in disbelief, while crossing his arms as a frim ‘no’. There certainly was a limit of how pathetic one could get.

“Oh by the way brother, you sleep talk,” she smirked, followed by a laughter that Junhwe always had hated through the years. That comment made him explode as he grabbed her arm in attempt to pull her way, but she was quick. She snuck under him before he could even grab her, and kicked him behind his knee, making him fall on the floor, both still holding onto the door handle as if it was matter of life and death.

“Yah Ye-Jin that hurts!” He yelled out as he grabbed her by the hair, making her let go of the door handle to protect her hair.

“JUNHWE!” she shouted in disbelief. “That hurt like really bad!” she shouted at him in anger as slight tears had formed her eyes.

“Serves your right,” he said as he got up on his feet and was ready to open the door. “Don’t you dare make a fuss about this!” Junhwe said, glaring at his sister with killer eyes.

“How can I not?” she asked frustrated. “All you do is talking about Jinhwan! If I didn’t know better, you were in love with him!” she let out frustrated causing her brother to blush like crazy, unable to say anything.

“N-not true” Junhwe tired to squeeze out. She sighted in defeat as she began walking up the stairs. Junhwe rolled and inhaled in hope of controlling his face and breath.

“Sorry for the long wait,” he said as he tried to hold his breath and not pant, but it only made him almost choke himself. The smaller boy only chuckled as he saw how sweaty Junhwe was.

"Been to war?” Jinhwan asked sarcastically as he looked at the exhausted boy in front of him. Junhwe chuckled, and made a gesture for the older boy to come in. When the smaller was behind him, Junhwe were quick to dry off his sweat.

“You should only know,” Junhwe said as he closed the door.

Jinhwan was amazed by Junhwe’s house. It was not big, compared to Hanbin’s house, but it wasn’t small either. It was a perfect sized house. He looked at the walls that had many family pictures hanging on the wall. The wall followed to an opening that seemed to be the kitchen. On the other side of the wall, there was a staircase, where a young girl was standing. Wait a second? Jinhwan jumped at the sight of the girl, as he had not seen her at all. The girl kept staring at Jinhwan with a smile on her face making Jinhwan a bit uncomfortable. He assumed that it was his sister.

Jinhwan scratched the back of his neck before he bowed and greeted her. “Hello my name is Kim Jinhwan, thank you for letting me in.” The girl suddenly squealed before jumping down from the staircase and got up close to Jinhwan, making him even more scared. What was going on with this girl? She must have been crazy.

“M-my apologies,” she said, remembering her attitude became rude. She bowed in 90 degree. “My name is Koo Ye-Jin, I’m Junhwe’s younger sister,” she greeted. And he was right. Well it was not much of an option. She was obviously too young to be his mother, though she could’ve been his girlfriend. Jinhwan looked at her. She was just as beautiful as Junhwe were handsome. Well not that handsome as in attractive, but there was no denying it, Junhwe is really a handsome boy, while Hanbin was handsome in an attractive way. Jinhwan let out a small sight in dejection. Even in a silence where the sister studied him, while Jinhwan waited for Junhwe to interrupt, Jinhwan could only think of Hanbin. Now that’s just pathetic.

Just in the right moment, as if he had waited for Jinhwan to ask of it, Junhwe interrupted. “Okay Ye-Jin, rule number 1; don’t disturb the other siblings guest,” he said as he took Jinhwan's hand and led him upstairs. There was a faint scoff from his sister, but Junhwe ignored it completely. That idiot of a sister won’t ruin his, perhaps, only chance of winning over Jinhwan. No, that was definitely not acceptable.

As the two of them had come up to the second floor, Junhwe was quick to show Jinhwan to his room, still holding the olders hand. “Okay so it might be a little bit messy,” Junhwe admitted shyly as he opened the door. Jinhwan was fully prepared for a messy room, but as the door flung open, Jinhwan was almost blinded by shininess and neatness. The bed was made up, the shelf was dust free, his desk was all cleaned up, and Jinhwan could swear he smelled a faint smell of soap. If this was messy for Junhoe, Jinhwan didn’t even dare to think of his own room, and lets not even mention Hanbin's room! That boy is too busy to even notice the mess in his own room! Jinhwan sighted at how this could even be close to messy?

“If this is messy then I don't know anymore,” Jinhwan said to himself, earning a soft chuckle from Junhwe who couldn't seem to look at anything else than Jinhwan. Jinhwan let go of Junhwe’s hand as he sat down by his desk, unpacking his bag. “Ok let’s get this started!” Fully focused on the tutoring, Jinhwan had been ready for a good lesson now. “So your weak subject was math right?” he asked as he followed Junhwe by the eyes, as the other boy sat down beside him.

Junhwe, who had felt offended that Jinhwan let go of his hand, snapped out of it and nodded. “Yeah, sad to say, but it’s the worst subject,” he said as he got his things as well.

“What? How can you hate math? It’s my favourite subject,” Jinhwan exclaimed. “You know what, I’m going to make you love math!” Jinhwan teased, by elbowing Junhwe, making the taller chuckle.

“That's not the only thing I will love by the end of the day,” Junhwe said to himself, unnoticeable by the other boy.

“Did you say something?” Jinhwan asked and Junhwe only shook his head as a ‘no’, as he could only smile at the boy. Just you wait and see.

An hour or two passed by and Junhwe have had several “ah-ha” experiences during the tutor hours. Jinhwan continued to show him alternative ways to solve the math puzzles that might be easier, and Junhwe certainly agreed so. Math had never been his strongest side, nor had Junhwe really thought of it as an interesting subject, but as Jinhwan literally sparkled while explaining math as a subject, Junhwe came to realise that math is pretty interesting. Jinhwan had explained how he thought it was amazing that almost everything do have a mathematical and logical explanation. Jinhwan then continued on talking about how interesting science was as well. While the older boy was totally into his subject, explaining and pointing out good point, Junhwe rested head on his arms that was placed on the desk, looking at Jinhwan. Jinhwan was sure beautiful, especially when he was interest in something. His eyes became wider when he was talking about it, and his hands would fly all over the place, trying to help explain the situation. Junhwe couldn’t help but smile at the beauty in front of him. How could someone that seemed so boring by the first glance, be such an amazing and loving person?

“You know what Jinhwan, you're a true inspiration,” Junhwe suddenly blurred out in between Jinhwan’s long story about the universe, catching Jinhwan off guard. He cheeks were painted a faint scale of pink of Junhwe's statement.

“How come?” he asked, trying to focus and go back to the math book in front of him.

“Where do I even start? Well you are very smart, and you have this amazing capability to learn things away, I mean you literally learned me the whole curriculum in these two hours! The teachers couldn’t even do it in three years, and here you are!” Junhwe exclaimed.

“W-what are you talking about? I have not learned you every thing!” Jinhwan laughed unsure.

“That’s also something I like abut you; when you get unsure of yourself you will laugh it away and try to focus on something else,” he said. Jinhwan looked at Junhwe now. Had he really noticed small things like that? “And I love the way you explain things with your arms! You have so much energy when you're into something, it’s amazing!” Jinhwan blushed at Junhwe’s words. Come to think of it, he got a bit carried away by his theories. “I wish you would spend this much energy on me as well,” Junhwe suddenly said, making Jinhwan’s eyes widen.

Jinhwan’s heart stopped beating for a second as he thought for a second he heard wrong. “W-what are you saying all of sudden?”

Junhwe noticed the smaller boy was off guard and took the chance he had. He let his finger rest over Jinhwan’s hand. “Jinhwan,” he looked from Jinhwan to their hands before he suddenly took both Jinhwan’s hands into his own. “Use more energy on me, try to be with me more and I’ll show you that I’m just as good as the other guy, if not better,” Junhwe leaned in closer to Jinhwan, letting one arm rest on the floor, beside Jinhwan, making him trapped. “I believe he doesn’t see the beauty in you, the way I do, he doesn’t understand you the way I do. He has only seen your thought the good times, but when you two fight, he suddenly leaves you, whereas I’ve seen your good times, and been with you through the bad times,” Junhwe said as he looked directly at Jinhwan. Jinhwan looked at away, avoiding the other’s gaze, but was interrupted as Junhwe had a finger under his chin, lifting up so he had to look at him. “Please Jinhwan,” He said. All of sudden, Junhwe had become so much manlier, and so much more adult like, that it almost scared Jinhwan. As Jinhwan was in complete silence, Junhwe took this opportunity and leaned in.

He rested his head onto Jinhwan’s forehead and looked into his beautiful brown eyes. He noticed the small heart shaped mole underneath his right eye. He noticed how some hair had fallen into his face covering his eyes. Junhwe carefully brushed it away from Jinhwan’s face as he eventually closed his eyes, leaning even closer inn as they lips where inches apart.

All of sudden the door burst open, and in came a yelling Ye-Jin. “Junhwe-ahhhh! Mom maid sandwich- oh, am I disturbing?” she said as the two had jumped away from each other; Junhwe irritated at his sister, and Jinhwan panting on the other side, relived that she came and saved him.

“Ye-Jin! Out now!” Junhwe said in a harsh way, closing the door in the face of his sister. Junhwe then looked at Jinhwan to see any reaction, and as he saw there were not the reaction he really had hoped for, he knew what he needed to do.

”Urgh you know what Jinhwan? Lets go to somewhere else, my sister is too annoying,” he murmured and Jinhwan looked at the door, and nodded slightly. Anywhere than a room, with only Junhwe, was better.

Junhwe slipped a smirked at how easy Jinhwan was to trick at times. To be honest, his sister hadn't made a sound after they had gone up to his room. She probably had thought they would do something else, maybe more y. Oh how Junhwe wanted, but he didn’t want to rush it. He wanted Jinhwan to feel safe. But to even think this far, he needed to break what already existed. Therefor he had been smart enough to come up with this plan. Now Chanwoo had made his part, now Junhwe was going to make Jinhwan uncomfortable with Hanbin’s presence, and he knew exactly how.  “Lets go somewhere to refresh, shall we?”

As they went through a park, with Junhwe a few meters in front of Jinhwan, Jinhwan was at the back, reflecting over what jus happened, not that he understood what had just happened. Junhwe had really tried to kiss him, or had he imagined it? Jinhwan didn’t understand anymore. He was happy that Ye-Jin had disturbed them. It just felt so wrong, the whole scene and Jinhwan kissing Junhwe is just wrong. They were good friends and Jinhwan really didn’t want to change that. To also imagine kissing anyone else than Hanbin, it was totally off.

Junhwe stopped as they reached a familiar place. Hongdae, a lively place where everything from bars, café, clubs, and of course more. Jinhwan was familiar with the hangout, but hadn’t been there too often. Jinhwan stopped behind Junhwe, confused. “Junhwe, why are we here, shouldn’t we study?” Jinhwan asked, but regretted it soon as he recalled the scene in Junhwe's bedroom.

“As I said Jinhwan, we need a refreshment!” he said not looking at Jinhwan. Jinhwan looked at Jinhwan as he pouted. Its not that he did not like places like these, but at this hour it usually would be many people and Jinhwan was honestly tired and waned to sleep. He looked up at Junhwe and noticed that it looked like Junhwe was searching for something, or someone.

Of course it was not by a coincidence that Junhwe had come to Hongdae at this exact hour. Junhwe was a spontaneous person, but when trying to break up a couple to his own advance, he sure had planned everything.

“You must be hungry eh?”  Junhwe suddenly said as if he had found what he was looking for. “Then lets go!” he said eagerly before the older one even could open his mouth. Junhwe entered a restaurant named JinJin. He sat down by  a table, not making Jinhwan say anything at this situation at all. In fact Jinhwan felt a little bit forced, but he didn’t dare to tell Junhwe. For all he knew, Junhwe might want to just go out and eat and have a break from his home? Or maybe a date? After all, Junhwe did try to kiss him. As the though crossed his mind again Jinhwan shook his head fast. Oh god what was he going to do? Should he reject Junhwe now on the spot? Should he wait and see? Jinhwan was not certain what to do at this very moment, but Jinhwan knew that he had no feelings for Junhwe at all, only as friends.

Before Jinhwan could even think a second thought, Junhwe’s voice shoots through his mind. “SeoJun! Long time no see? Why did you leave now, this soon? Hanbin still needs you! Now he needs to find another victim,” Junhwe said looking at the table beside them. Jinhwan frowned as he looked to where Junhwe was looking. Why would he badmouth Hanbin in front of someone else? Weren’t they good friends?

“Huh? Who’s the unlucky guy now?” the familiar voice said.

“This shortie!” Junhwe said, shooting an arm around Jinhwan as he was referring to him. “Hanbin did find his next victim indeed, so don’t worry, you won’t be terrorized by him,” Junhwe laughed. Jinhwan looked over at Junhwe as a sudden twist appeared in his stomach at the way Junhwe addressed Hanbin. This was not an okay way to address him at all, making the smaller feel upset.

“You know what Hanbin is just as bad as-“

“Hello my name is Kim Jinhwan,” Jinhwan cut off Junhwe midway, before Junhwe could say anything else about Hanbin. Catching Junhwe off guard, he looked from SeoJun to Jinhwan a bit surprised, before he reminded himself of the plan.

“Ah ! I need to go to the toilet, mind if Jinhwan stays here while I’m gone?” Junhwe asked walking away, not giving either of them a chance to answer.

As Jinhwan sighed, SeoJun lifted his glasses to the nose bridge. “Well my name is Lee SeoJun,” he said as he gestured Jinhwan to sit down right over him. Jinhwan obeyed as a small puppy, unable to say a word. “So you are his new tutor?” he said, studying Jinhwan from top to toe, or as long as he could see before the table were in the way.

Jinhwan nodded lightly, almost unnoticeable. “You were his former, I heard?” Jinhwan said with a faint voice.

“Former, and I’m so happy that it is over! I pity you for being his tutor!” Jinhwan felt a chill run down his spine. “I mean, he was annoying, demanding, rude, and of course too high of himself! He thinks he can do whatever he wants without anyone caring!” Jinhwan felt the twist that was in the stomach because of Junhwe, now became a knot because of how SeoJun addressed Hanbin. Do whatever he wants to? It was easy for Hanbin to betray Jinhwan for Chanwoo. How he would laugh together with Chanwoo, spend all his time with him, even at home, going to the shopping market, holding hands in public. Was Jinhwan simply not enough? Was Jinhwan a person Hanbin did not treasure, since it was easy to betray him? Jinhwan could feel tears start to well up, but he bit his bottom lip, preventing the tears from falling.

“But you know what? On top of all those horrible things he had done, Hanbin is not a bad guy,” SeoJun suddenly said, catching Jinhwan off guard. Jinhwan looked up surprised at the boy over him as he asked “how come?”

SeoJun smiled a little. “Thinking back at all the time I spent with Hanbin, I realise, he is not that bad of a guy. I mean he actually never forced me to do his homework if I was tired, he never overworked me, which I’m forever grateful for,” SeoJun said as he sipped form his tea. Jinhwan couldn’t help but smile a little.

SeoJun sat down the cup of tea and pulled his glasses upwards again. “Actually Jinhwan, I was a bully target of Kang HyunSoo, from a grade above us, and I have been that for as long as I can remember. HyungSoo would always call me to make me do his homework or replace him to do the punishment form the teacher, but when I became Hanbin's tutor, Hanbin would actually call me first, so that I did not have to do that anymore. It was like he was a shield for me. I don’t know if it was a coincidence, but I’m still really happy about it.” SeoJun said as he smiled warmheartedly. Jinhwan were unable to say a word, all he could do was to listen to SeoJun.

“You know Jinhwan, I'm actually thankful for Hanbin, because the time I spent with Hanbin made me a stronger person. Now at the new school I wont let anyone bully me anymore. Hanbin have thought me up well, and I wont disappoint him by letting people bully me ever again,” he said proudly, smiling with confidence.

Jinhwan had gone all silent in awe. He knew Hanbin wasn’t really that bad at all. “B-but why did you change school? Everyone said it was because of Hanbin,” Jinhwan suddenly asked.

“Dad changed job, so we had to move, nothing about Hanbin at all,” SeoJun chuckled. Jinhwan breathed out in heavy relief. Now this was the Hanbin he knew. This made Jinhwan admire Hanbin even more. He was really a good boy, and good to his friends and families. Jinhwan would never have guessed this was the story behind Hanbin's former tutor! Hanbin really did care for the people around him, and he never did they any harm at all. He would never do anything to hurt them.

To hurt them.

Oh god what had Jinhwan just done?! Hanbin would never have hurt him! Jinhwan was a fool for thinking for even one second that Hanbin would. Hanbin wouldn’t go behind his back! Jinhwan needed to see Hanbin real quick now.

“Thank you so much Lee SeoJun!” Jinhwan said as he stood up and ran out of the room, tears filled with eyes, only this time Jinhwan was not afraid to let them go.

Junhwe admired himself for a second in the mirror. “You are the smartest guy I know about!” Junhwe washed his hands thinking of how smart he had been to figure out this plan! It was a masterpiece to make Jinhwan meet Hanbin's former tutor. This way SeoJun would tell all about his bad experiences with Hanbin and how he treated him, and Jinhwan would end up hating on Hanbin and never want to see his face ever again! Junhwe hummed satisfied to himself as he walked out of the toilet. He was quick to find the two guys sitting at a table, smiling. Wait a minute? Smiling? Shouldn’t Seojun be sad and Jinhwan be angry? Why is Jinhwan happy? No what is going on? Something has definitely gone wrong! Junhwe walked with frim steps towards the two boys, when suddenly Jinhwan stood up and sprinted out of the restaurant. Unable to understand the reason, Junhwe looked confused at the remaining boy.

“It was nice to meet you Junhwe, but it looks like its time for me to go,” SeoJun smiled, packing his stuff and made his leave. Junhwe felt his face burn from ear to ear! How on earth had the nerd ruined his plan? And how does he even dare to do so! Junhwe shouted out loud, making everyone stop whatever they were doing and looking at him. He looked around him and stamped out of the restaurant. Just you wait; I'm not done here.

Jinhwan had probably never run this fast in his entire life, but this was sure important enough for him. As he ran past the park, soon familiar streets were to seen. The neighbourhood he had gotten to known were soon seen once more, and a familiar house of the person he loves came to his sight. As Jinhwan stopped near the gate to Hanbin’s house, he stopped a bit. He did not want to look all worn out when he was going to talk to Hanbin. That would have been awkward and pathetic of him. He might seem too desperate, although he was perhaps a little bit desperate.

As Jinhwan rested against the gates, thinking through and plan what he was going to say, so he would not mess it up when he came face to face with Hanbin, Jinhwan suddenly noticed a car driving away from Hanbin’s house. His father was not home at this moment, Jinhwan supposed, so who could it be? As Jinhwan squinted, he realised it was a too familiar face.

Chanwoo.

Had Chanwoo been at Hanbin's house? Hanbin hadn't invited Jinhwan over in ages. Jinhwan suddenly felt discouraged at the thought that Chanwoo had apparently been with Hanbin, in his house, the whole day. As thoughts kept piling up in his head, the young man walked away, head hanging low in sadness, confusion and miserably.
