Chapter 3

Ganbatte ne?

Today I proposed my revolutionary idea to them once more and most of them approved of it, shockingly! Well the stock owners thought it would bring in good money and the board members wanted to test me. However, they are not sure how the public will take it so they told me to announce the news. I was supposed to have a press conference later today about it. I felt nervous and nauseous. I did not like being in front of reporters and cameras. People in the entertainment industry, especially the reporters are scary!

I sat behind the long rectangular table; the reporters were lined up in front of me. I took a deep breathe to calm my nerves. Then, I explained the idea. Millions of questions were thrown at me which gave me a shock. I answered them all as confidently as possible.

“How are these young girls going to audition? The Johnny’s style or is there a new way?”

“They will be able to submit their applications online on our official website so no, it will not be done the original way. They do not have to send in actual paper copies via mail.”

“How will you maintain to debut both girls and the current juniors. Will the debut of the current juniors be put off?”

“No it will not be put off so the fans of the current juniors can relax.”

And so the conference went on.

It had been two months since the conference and during this period me and the crew I assigned had been going through the applications and sorting out the talented girls and the stalker fans. There were all kinds of people applied. Women over their thirties, people that want to sign a contract for their baby girl and so on. It was quite ridiculous. We narrowed down the applications to around 50 of them and today they were supposed to come in for their actual audition.

I went to the vending machine to get something to drink before the judging. What these vending machines don’t accept cards? I moved to the side and started going through the coins in my wallet, trying to get the exact amount.

Someone else came in and got his drinks. Ugh, this guy totally skipped the line, I thought to myself right when I was about to face him I saw a can of peach juice in front of my eyes. Confused I faced the person.

Oh.

“Here you go, my treat.” Shige said, urging me to take the drink from his hands.

I eyed him suspiciously but accepted the drink anyways. “Thank you.”

“Good luck on the auditions today. Ganbatte!~” He said  with a tint of sarcasm, making a fist with his right hand.

I raised one eyebrow and looked at him. “Why does your encouragement seem so insincere?”

He shrugged with a smirk and walked off. I stomped my feet in frustration. “Hey! You did not answer my question!” I yelled after him. He waved his hand goodbye without even turning around to face me.

I was about the walk into the audition room when I saw Sho-san appear before me. “Ganbatte ne?” He said greeting me and then walked off. He also did not sound sincere, he almost sounded apologetic.

WHY DOES EVERYONE SEEM TO BE WAITING FOR ME TO FAIL?!

I stormed into the room and took my seat. I opened the can of juice and gulped down the whole drink. I know I looked very unladylike at that moment but I did not care.

“Someone must have pissed you off.” I heard a soft voice beside me. I turned around and faced the owner of the voice.

“Oh. Ohno-san. Ohayo gozaimassu.” I smiled and bowed a bit. “Sorry about earlier.” I said referring to my rude behavior.

“It’s fine. So who pissed you off?”

“Pretty much everyone?” I offered. “I mean ever since I entered the building everyone had been wishing me luck in a sarcastic way. Everyone is waiting for me to fail.” I sighed.

“It’s okay. I support you.”

“Thank you.” I beamed. Once the other judges came in we started calling in the names.

“Contestant number one, please enter.” I said and a petite girl in her teens appeared before me.

A/N: So the auditions are next and some of the OCs will appear!~ :) I placed a deadline for the applications which is december 31st. It will be too hectic for me to place them into the story line after that. I am also going on a holiday from this tuesday until january 5th but I will update during this time so don't worry :) Oh and don't forget to leave a comment and to subscribe :)
