Her only thought now is; Who could have done this? An can she figure it out?

Foreword

"I'm just a girl. That's right,A simple girl. An I don't have much left now...But I know I can do anything I set my mind to. You taught me that. An you,You're just a boy. We aren't that much different. So what difference can I make? We lived everyday the same. The same beliefs,The same mistakes,The same lessons,We are one in the same. But now...Someone has taken you away from me. I know what they all say and I know it's wrong of me to get so hateful when they say that you've passed on. You always told me to stay calm so that I could simply have disagreements,to prevent actual arguments. But I don't believe you're gone;I can't. Sometimes it feels like angels leave me signs that you're still very alive. Just the other day I was cleaning up after myself...Yeah,I do that now...An I tumbled over my slippers. It seems like the lesson you taught me the most was to put away my shoes but some things never change..Do they?" Hyorin laughed silently as she looked down at a black and white picture of a slightly tall man with a goofy smile and a pair of glasses that were slid all the way down to the bottom of his nose.

"My appa,You are so handsome." She kissed his picture gracefully before forming one of her sad smiles.

"An guess what? I don't care what anyone thinks of me now. I'm going to find you. An I know I'm not crazy,So that's all that truly matters according to you so it must be true!"

"Appa,Saranghae. Stay well until I find you,Please."

She got up from her desk,Placing the picture of her father to where it stands up. She reached out to give the photo a gentle touch before sliding her hands down into her pocket and grabbing a key chain that had a total of 5 keys on it. One for her house,One for her office door,One for her night shift at a part time job,One she found after her father's disappearance, And one for her diary which is full of memories she wrote down and sketched to remember her father and their times.

She walked over to her offices door;shutting it quietly and locking it to keep the peaceful aroma before a voice interrupted her motions.

"Leaving late again I see?" A women with a loose bun,a long white collared shirt,And a knee length black skirt appeared.

"Ahh,You caught me,Soyou." Hyorin let out a small chuckle before turning her doors handle to make sure it was locked.

"You know I'm still helping you on that case, right? I actually let a few people in on it. They are all so nice I swear!" Soyou followed Hyorin to the elevator excitedly leaving Hyorin with a look of concern.

"Why must you always help? You are my friend!"

"Friends help each other!" Soyou looked at her with pure dismay.

"Yah. No more."

"It's just ever since this whole thing happened...You haven't been here as much. I guess I just miss you." Soyou allowed Hyorin to press the button for them to go down to floor 2.

Hyorin stayed quiet until the elevator made a ding. She walked out, letting her eyes stray from everyone around her.

"Hyor-" Soyou began to reach out for her.

"You know how much this means to me. I've dedicated my life to finding him. I love you,I do, But I don't need your help on this one." Hyorin sighed and turned around to look at the thin girl.

"Other people have their things in life that they like to do. Nurses can keep people alive,Firefighters can rescue people,Police can prevent the crime,But I... I'm an investigator. I can investigate. I can find out what happened and how. I can prevent it,I can fix it. I can do this. I know. So thank you for supporting me. But this, right here,it means more to me than it could ever mean to you or anybody else. When my mom died,I know you were the one who was there for me. You held my hand. But this isn't that. I'm not an insecure thirteen year old anymore. I'm an insecure twenty four year old now." She tried to smile at the lady but ended up just shaking her head. "I'll see you tonight. You have reservations, right?"

"Nae." Is all Soyou could manage to say.

She quickly got her words back,"Hyorin,Your Best Friend will see you tonight. An I won't order too much this time." She playfully said as the tanned female waved her off.
