It was summer of 2008, when she first met him. She was 17 and had just finished her first year at university.

She liked him right away. Perhaps not romantically right away, but that came soon after. No, she just liked the easiness about him, his kind character, warm smile, how genuine he was. 

But the timing was not on her side. 

Over the years, timing was never in their favour. Things happen, people come and go, the ebb of life continually pushes each in their own direction. Sometimes crossing paths, sometimes not. 

Until one day there he was again. Standing under the glow of Grand Central Station, snow falling gently around him, collar turned against the wind, smiling as if no time had passed since that very first meeting, eight years ago and six thousand miles away.

Kim Jongin

Easy tempered, laid back, kind and gentle boy, who also happened to be ridiculously good looking. People liked Kai. He was helpful, listened with genuine interest, smart, but didn't try too hard. Confident, but not pretentious. Basically a cool guy. Also a law student at Seoul National University.
