Description

They call me Frank because in my sophomore year, I was always brutally honest. I even got Gwen Parkinson to cry when I told her that her t-shirt was so old and faded it could go to a bundle shop. I didn't know it was part of her aesthetic, hell I didn't even know what the 'aesthetic' means. So naturally, I felt bad at first, but then I started to get popular and known as the 'kid who slayed Gwen Parkinson'. Then I started being frank in a very brutal way, throwing insults until I learned that it was wrong to do that so I stopped, but the great thing is, my popularity didn't.

"Hey, Dandy!" I yelled, spotting my friend from across the hallway and jogging over to him who is trying to open his locker.

His birth name is Daniel Harper. A Londoner, came here as an exchange student. I gave him the nickname 'Dandruff' or in short 'Dandy' because the first time he talked to me after I savagely sassed Gwen Parkinson, I tried to brush him off but he never stops trying to talk to me and become my friend. I was very annoyed of him and he reminds me of my dandruff problem I had when I was 14. He was cool with being nicknamed 'Dandruff' ("Dude, you're like dandruff. You know, white and ing annoying" I had said when he sat at my place during lunch last year). We only became friend late last year when I discovered that he likes Fall Out Boy (It was prom and I was sitting down on a chair by a table with Daniel Harper sitting just across from me. When the part 'heavy metal break my *dun* *dun* heart!' came, Daniel and I slammed our hand on the table and did the '*dun* *dun* and the rest is history).

"What's up, homie?" Dandy smirked, finally succeeding in opening his locker. He put a few books and grabbed the books he needed for the next lesson.

I grimaced, "Ew, don't call me that! And stop trying to be American!"

Dandy chuckled and said something back but I wasn't listening. I was busy looking at the crowd and accidentally laid eyes on a girl dressed in blue and white striped sweater and a pair of red pant with a red converse as her footwear. She is not just a girl I happened to look at, she's Ebony Atkin, the girl in my English class. I never really pay attention to her because she is that 'emo' girl who wears black all the time, though I never catch her blaring My Chemical Romace or any other emo bands in her earphone, but she's different today, she's finally wearing colors and she looks bloody beautiful, too. She was also looking at the crowd when she caught my gaze and quickly looks away.

"… I was like—, are you even listening?" Dandy nudged me at the exact time Ebony caught my gaze the second time. I noticed she looked very uncomfortable and she walked away.

"Wh-what?" I asked, stammered and turning my body to him to give him my full attention.

Dandy rolled his eyes, "So I was saying that Anwar tried to peer preasure me into robbing this gas station," Anwar (A pakistani, Muslim and an all-time crybaby) is one of Dandy's cool friend that I never got the chance to meet. Sure I see Anwar occasionally like in the cafeteria but he never glanced at me, "I was like, 'Bro, you're a ing Muslim. Isn't it against your religion to rob?' and then he said, 'But it's fun, isn't it? I mean, breaking the rules and everything'," It was then that I realized that Dandy make the worst Anwar's impersonation. "But then I was like, 'But dude, this isn't The 1975 music video where you rob a gas station.

"And you know what he said?" I shook my head, "He said, 'Yeah, I might not be Matty Healy but Matty is coming with us to tonight. Not the real Matty but Matty nonetheless'," Matty Hovel is another one of Dandy's cool friend Dandy never introduced to me, "And I declined. They could go to jail, man!"

By the time he has finished, my mouth had already hung open, "Barking!"

"Right?! That's what I keep telling them but they wouldn't listen." Dandy shook his head as if disappointed in his friends, "Oh yeah and before I forget, they also told me to tell you that you're also welcome if you want to join them but I'm sure you wouldn't want to right?"

I gulped. I never knew that Anwar and Matty knew about me, and as a guy coming from a family with a rubber duck company, of course I want to be a part of the cool kids and hearing that Anwar and Matty invited me to join their illegal activity is like a dream came true.

I was brought out of my daze when Dandy cleared his throat. He's looking at me with an unsure look on his face as if doubting that I won't join Anwar and Matty.

"Pfft, of course I didn't want to."

I lied. Of course I want to.

Dandy let out a breath of relief and patted my shoulder, "Phew, man. I'm glad. So do you want to hang out tonight? I bought the new FNAF—"

"Actually, I can't go out tonight." I cut him off, scratching the back of my neck "I have a thing to do tonight."

"Oh really? Bummer! What is it the thing you have to do?"

"Uh," I tried not look around, for Dandy could tell I was lying, "I have some family gathering. You know, like Thanksgiving."

"In the middle of April?"

"My family's Asian, Dan. You don't understand." And with that, I left him to head over to my Biology class while he go to his calculus class.
