according to many, childhood is a time of blissful idyll: a period of sweet, starry innocence lost before one can truly appreciate the pure simplicity of the age. against your knowledge, you are pulled into the uncertain depths of adolescence and impending adulthood where the exact vastness of the world makes itself known. it is glorious, it is terrifying. treasures and tribulations await, aching to meet you. the romantics say to grow up is terrible and the realists say it is inevitable. (i think it is actually quite beautiful.)
