She glimpses him from across the bustling street. He stands perfectly still, as if frozen in time. The white, billowing sleeves of his shirt seem strangely out of place amongst the monotonous grays and blacks of the suits scurrying around him.
As she continues to stare his eyes dart upwards, as though he can detect her gaze. She thinks she sees a smile begin to curl his lips, but her bus pulls up to the station at that moment, so it may have been her imagination. 
When she glances out the bus window, the space he had just occupied is vacant. The only evidence of his presence is a single, blood red rose that floats down to the pavement, though she cannot possibly see it from inside the bus.

The next day the man is there again. Yet when she, now feeling curious, crosses the street to reach him he vanishes into the crowd when a truck blocks her view.

This time she sees the rose, drifting down to rest next to a pile of refuse that soils the sidewalk. But before she can capture it, the rose is lost in the trampling feet of the masses

The third day she nearly reaches him before he disappears, her hand mere inches from his turned back. As she reaches to tap his shoulder, a stout little man rudely bumps into her from the side, distracting her for only a second. When she turns back around he is gone.

However, this time she snatches up the rose before she loses it, realizing it comes with a message.

Catch me before I fall this time.
