“Sica~”

Taeyeon groaned. “Still in that honeymoon phase I see…”

Yuri ignored her short friend and continued gushing into the phone. “I miss you…”

“You saw her three hours ago…” Taeyeon mumbled to herself.

“Oh, just let them have their fun…”

“But…”

Taeyeon and Tiffany’s voices drowned out and all Yuri could hear was the voice on the other end of the phone. The grin seemed to be glued onto her face and there didn’t seem to be a thing that could wipe it off of her face. Kwon Yuri couldn’t remember a time when she was happier. It felt like a dream to her. Sometimes she still couldn’t believe it. The girl she liked for the longest time actually liked her back. It wasn’t until then she realized how lucky it was when two people found each other, when you liked someone that actually liked you back. How rare was that for that to happen? To fall for someone who fell for you at the same time, it was an amazing feeling.

She was lucky, and she knew it.

“Oh, I’m just having lunch with Taeyeon and Tiffany.”

Then why are you on the phone with me?” the voice on the other end questioned with a small giggle.

“Because I miss you,” Yuri whined. Taeyeon felt like she was about to puke.

“Were we anything like this?” Taeyeon hissed. Tiffany’s eyes turned into crescents.

“Well, you were a little clingy…”

Taeyeon frowned. “Was not!”

Tiffany didn’t say anything in response and shook her head at the stubborn girl.

Yuri hung up, the grin still on her face.

“So, you two seem to be doing well,” Tiffany said with a grin of her own.

Taeyeon scoffed. “Obviously,” she mumbled.

Yuri grinned at her two friends. “Honestly, I still don’t believe it,” she admitted, “I mean, I’ve been pining after her for, what, almost two years? And then all of a sudden what I thought would only happen in my dreams happens in real life. This…all of it…it feels like a dream. Except better, because it’s not a dream. This is real.”

Tiffany shyly smiled at her before grabbing Taeyeon’s hand. “I felt the same way…” She turned to look at Taeyeon and Taeyeon shot her a dorky grin before tightening her hold on Tiffany’s hand.

Yuri would’ve normally been disgusted by the sight, but she could finally relate to the two in a way. She stared at their conjoined hands and she couldn’t help but feel elated that she had someone she could do the same with.

Tiffany got up to go to the bathroom and left the two normally bickering friends alone with each other.

Taeyeon grinned back at Yuri and Yuri couldn’t help but stare are her warily. Just a minute ago she was complaining. “…What are you up to Taeng?”

“Do I always have to be up to something?”

“When you look at me like that, yes.”

Taeyeon rolled her eyes at the girl, but her grin remained the same. “Look, I know I make fun of you all the time, but honestly, I’m really happy for you. I know about everything you’ve been through the past couple years…and…I’m very happy you decided to give this another chance.”

Yuri blinked in confusion. “Give what another chance?”

“You know, this!” Taeyeon said gesturing her arms in front of her. “Life.”

Yuri gulped and stared at her best friend with gaping open. “W – what? You know?!” she gasped incredulously.

Taeyeon’s grin was still there. “You’re a very open drunk, you know that?”

Yuri groaned. “How long have you known?”

“About a year now, I think. You practically spilled your whole story to me. How you met Jessica, how you really met her, and everything that went along with it,” her grin faltered a little, “I’m…really sorry Yuri…”

“You don’t have to –”

“– apologize, I know. I want to. The fact that you would even resort to something like that…it scares me.” Yuri was a little shocked. It was rare for Taeyeon to be so open with her feelings.

“I’m not like that anymore.”

“I know that now…but…” Taeyeon began struggling for words.

“Look, the past is the past. You don’t have to worry or feel sorry about it anymore. I’m okay now, and you’re part of the reason why.”

Taeyeon smiled at her. “I’m happy for you, you know.”

“I know.”

“And…right now I know your whole relationship doesn’t’ seem real,” Taeyeon started, “and trust me…if you do things right, it only gets better.”

Before Yuri could say anything in response, Tiffany came back from the bathroom and plopped back down into her seat next to Taeyeon. Tiffany’s hand naturally went to Taeyeon’s as if there were a homing device connected to it.

“Hey.” Three heads turned to look at the owner of the new voice. Yuri grinned at the sight.

“Hey you,” she said as the newcomer slipped into the seat next to her, “what are you doing here?”

Jessica shyly smiled at her. “I was free so I thought I’d stop by.” It had only been a week since the two had gotten together and compared to the other relationships Jessica had been in, this one felt different to her. She suddenly felt shy around the slightly younger girl. The transition from friend to girlfriend was just a little odd for her. Jessica tensed up.

Girlfriend.

Kwon Yuri was her girlfriend now. She was never particularly fond of labels, but she wasn’t sure she minded this time around.

Yuri evoked so many emotions in her; she wasn’t sure how to act around the girl anymore. She wanted to be someone Yuri could fall in love with, and that, in turn, made her act the way she was.

Yuri noticed how shy the other girl had been acting around her lately. How could she not? They used to be so comfortable around each other and all of a sudden Jessica became shy and bashful around her. Not that Yuri didn’t find it endearing, but she was a little worried that Jessica might be having second thoughts about their relationship. No matter how adorable she thought a shy Jessica was, a shy Jessica wasn’t the Jessica she knew.

Yuri was determined to keep the other girl hers. She had spent too long pining after her to give up so easily. As soon as she felt her slipping through her fingers, she panicked, even if there was nothing to panic over.

Yuri nervously slipped her hand into Jessica’s and held it loosely.

Neither of the two were sure of where to go next with their relationship, but Yuri decided that this could be the first step.

Jessica turned her head to face Yuri when she felt her hand weakly wrap around hers. Yuri only offered a sheepish grin in return. Jessica turned away and wondered where her confidence had gone from the night they had gotten together. She slowly interlocked their fingers and tightened her hold on Yuri’s hand.

One step at a time.

Jessica smiled to herself.

Yuri couldn’t hold the grin back when she felt Jessica tighten their hold. Their food came to the table and Jessica didn’t stop herself from digging into Yuri’s plate since she hadn’t ordered herself. Yuri’s eyes fell to their conjoined hands and she was reminded of what Taeyeon had told her just a few moments ago.

If you do things right, it only gets better.

We could hold hands.

“So, what do you want to do now?” Yuri asked swinging their hands back and forth as they walked down the street.

Jessica giggled at the childish behavior. “I’m kind of tired…I think I had too much to eat.”

“Yeah, I didn’t think you could eat that much…” Jessica shot a glare over to the other girl. Yuri gave her signature grin in response. “How about I just walk you home? You seem really tired. Even at dinner you were a little out of it.”

Jessica nodded. “It’s been a long day,” she said before letting go of Yuri’s hand and wrapping her arms around Yuri’s waist, leaning her head against her shoulder. Yuri welcomed the embrace before putting an arm around the shorter girl’s shoulder. She felt Jessica lean harder against her, putting all of her weight onto the taller girl. “Yuri~ I’m tired~”

“Y – yah, Sica!” Yuri grunted and struggled a little with the extra weight. “I can’t walk like this!” Jessica pulled away and pouted. Yuri suddenly grinned and walked in front of her. “I have a better idea. She kneeled down in front of her with her back facing her. Jessica stared cluelessly at the girl in front of her.

“What are you doing Yuri?”

“Get on my back.”

“…Are you serious?”

“Does it look like I’m joking?”

“Well, I can’t really see your face right now, but –”

“Just get on my back!”

Jessica rolled her eyes and hopped onto Yuri’s back, wrapping her arms around Yuri’s neck as soon as the other girl stood up. Yuri firmly gripped onto the underside of Jessica’s thighs before continuing to walk towards Jessica’s apartment.

“You better not drop me!”

Yuri chuckled at the girl that was now burying her head into the crook of her neck. She turned her head slightly in an attempt to look at the blonde. “Don’t worry Sica, I’d never drop you.”

Jessica didn’t say anything in response and the rest of the walk remained quiet. The breaths hitting the base of her neck told Yuri that the slightly older girl had fallen asleep. Yuri sighed to herself. They hadn’t been together that long. Two weeks and counting, and Yuri was certainly counting the days. Something seemed to be off about the girl ever since they got together. Yuri wondered if maybe she wasn’t good enough for her, if she wasn’t what the girl was expecting.

“Sica…” Yuri whispered, “We’re here.” Yuri nudged her as best as she could in her position and the felt the sleepyhead shift. Jessica moved to get off of Yuri’s back and groggily mumbled a ‘thank you’ before opening the door.

“I guess I’ll see you –”

“Do you want to come in?”

Yuri paused. It wasn’t like she hadn’t been in Jessica’s apartment before, but this would be the first time she would be in there as her girlfriend. Yuri was gently pulled inside before she could even answer.

“Are you hungry?”

“We just ate.”

“Oh yeah.”

Jessica let out a loud yawn.

“Look, it’s getting kind of late and you’re tired.” Yuri led the sleepy girl to the bathroom. “Go wash up and get ready for bed.”

Jessica hesitated before asking her next question. “Will you stay with me until I fall asleep?”

Yuri smiled at her. “Of course. Now go.” She lightly pushed her into the bathroom and closed the door. Yuri walked into Jessica’s room and jumped into her bed, burying her face into a pillow. She rolled over and stared at the ceiling. She mulled over their relationship.

It wasn’t as if things were going bad. Things were great. They always had a great time together, but she felt some hesitance coming from Jessica’s side. It was small, but big enough for Yuri to notice it.

Was she still scared?

Yuri frowned and closed her eyes trying to get her mind off of the topic.

She felt the bed dip down. “Yuri?”

Yuri kept her eyes closed. “Hm?”

“Are you happy?” Jessica asked softly.

Yuri opened her eyes and her side to face the other girl. She stared at the figure looking up at the ceiling for a while before answering.

“Why wouldn’t I be?”

She saw a smile tug at her lips.

“Aren’t you tired? You should go to sleep,” Yuri asked changing the subject.

“Talk to me.”

“About what?”

Jessica opened and closed several times before finally saying something. “There’s something I’ve always been curious about…” she said softly.

“What is it?”

Jessica turned to lie on her side to face Yuri. “I’ve always wondered why…” Jessica reached up and softly touched Yuri’s cheek. Yuri closed her eyes at the gentle gesture and waited for her to continue her question. “…why is it that you were bullied when you’re so…you?”

Yuri let out a small laugh, her eyes still closed, and Jessica’s hand cupped her cheek. “So me? What’s that supposed to mean?”

“You know, because you’re just…”

Yuri opened her eyes and put a hand over the hand still placed on her face. “I’m just what?” she asked quietly.

Jessica stared straight into Yuri’s eyes. “You’re just…the sweetest person I’ve ever met…” she mumbled. Yuri felt the heat rush to her cheeks, but she didn’t break the eye contact. “So, I’ve just always wondered why…why would anyone ever want to hurt someone like you…”

Yuri’s eyes softened and she took Jessica hands and held it in her own. “…Do you really want to know?”

Jessica nodded, her eyes fixed on Yuri’s. “I…I want to know everything about you.”

Yuri smiled and their hands fell to the space on the bed in between them. Yuri took a deep breath before starting. “Yoona knew some people so she managed to find me a job at the theater close by. Some of the workers…didn’t like me so much. They thought I was just street scum, that I didn’t deserve what was given to me. They didn’t know what happened to me, and I’m not even sure if it would’ve made a difference if they did.”

Jessica started playing with Yuri’s fingers and Yuri’s gaze flickered down to their hands. “It wasn’t like everyone hated me, but it felt like everyone did at the time. I was always just stuck around the same people. The only real friend I had was Yoona, but she was always busy and it felt like she abandoned me. I know…it was a stupid thought, but what else was I supposed to think? I was hurt and had no one else to rely on. I was lost, I was confused, I was…I was…”

Jessica stopped playing with Yuri’s fingers, but Yuri’s gaze stayed in the same spot. Jessica lightly traced Yuri’s jaw with a finger and when she reached the underside of her chin, she gently tilted her head up to look in her in the eyes.

“I was scared.”

Jessica smiled at her and cupped her cheek again, wiping the tears that Yuri hadn’t even realized she had with her thumb.

“And being scared meant I was an easy target.” Yuri was surprised she managed to keep her voice steady. When had she started crying? “It was like I was the deer with the broken leg and they were the lions that took advantage of that. To this day, I’m still not entirely sure why they did what they did…I thought bullies only existed in school, but it turns out they’re everywhere. “

“Bullies are bullies…they just like to hurt other so they can feel better about themselves. It’s messed up, and I will never be able to understand it…people can hurt you in the most unconventional ways and there’s nothing we can do to stop it.”

Yuri had a feeling her statement extended beyond her own situation.

“Have you forgiven them?” Jessica asked.

There was no hesitation in Yuri’s answer. “No.”

Jessica’s eyes widened. “Really?”

Yuri laughed at her reaction. “Am I supposed to forgive them?”

Jessica fervently shook her head. “No! I’m glad you don’t. In fact, I think you should hunt them down and –”

“Sica.”

“Whatever. It’s just a little surprising. I mean, you’re kind of the type that forgives too easily…”

“They knocked me so far down that I had trouble getting back up on my own two feet, Sica. And I almost didn’t…They pushed me over the edge when I had already fallen. That isn’t something I can forgive so easily.”

Jessica moved her hand and gripped Yuri’s tightly again.

“What about you?”

“What do you mean?”

“Your ex. And I don’t mean Donghae.”

Jessica looked down at their hands that were playing with each other. “You want to know?”

Yuri smiled even though Jessica couldn’t see it. “I want to know everything about you.”

“There’s not much to say…I was young and naïve and he was this smooth talking, charming, suave guy. He knew all the right words, and I fell for every one of them. Tiffany didn’t like him much though, but she tolerated him for my sake. I wish she hadn’t. We reached our hundred day mark and he bought me flowers and chocolate and all those other typical things that a guy buys for his girlfriend. He took me out to this really nice restaurant and ordered exactly what I liked. It was what every girl dreamed of…someone tall, funny, and handsome who showered you with all their attention. And then…he took me for a walk in the park…”

Yuri gripped her hand even tighter. Jessica hadn’t looked her in the eyes once.

“It started out so innocent; a kiss. Then, he started getting rough with me and…and…”

Yuri pulled her into an embrace and Jessica immediately wrapped her arms around Yuri’s waist and buried her head into Yuri’s chest. Yuri kissed the top of her head.

“…I didn’t think I’d be able to like someone again…but then…”

“Then?” Yuri gently her hair and she felt Jessica relax at the calming movement.

“Then I found you…”

Yuri chuckled. “Would you ever forgive him?”

She felt Jessica shake her head. “I don’t think I can. He messed me up in ways that I don’t understand.”

Yuri pulled away to look at her face and cupped her face. She wiped away the tears with her thumbs and leaned down to kiss her. It only lasted a couple seconds, but Yuri was satisfied. She quickly pecked Jessica’s forehead and gently guided her head back to lie on her chest.

“Go to sleep Sica.”

“I have another question.”

Yuri couldn’t help but laugh. “I thought you were tired…”

“I am…” Jessica didn’t want to admit it, but she didn’t want the other girl to leave.

“Then sleep!”

“Just answer the next question and I’ll go to sleep!”

“Alright, what is it?”

“How’d you meet Yoona?”

Yuri sighed deeply. “Well…”

Neither of them got any sleep that night.

We could stay up all night talking to each other.

“Do you regret getting together with me?!”

“No! How could you even say that?”

The couple stared each other down, both of them fuming mad. One small thing had escalated into a big fight.

“Why are you so different lately then? Why do you act so different around me?”

“I thought we’ve been doing fine!”

“We have! But…”

“But what, Yuri?”

“This isn’t you!”

“What are you talking about?”

“You aren’t acting like yourself! You’re all shy and bashful and…weird…”

“What?”

“You don’t hit me and argue with me like you used to!”

“We’re arguing now. You want me to hit you too?”

“That’s not what I meant!”

“Then what do you mean?”

“I mean, you’re acting weird around me now!”

“What does that even mean?

“It means exactly what it says!”

Jessica couldn’t take it anymore, they were just arguing in circles, so she stormed out of Yuri’s apartment. “Talk to me when you decide to start making sense!” The sound of the door slamming shook the entire room. Yuri huffed and angrily sat down on her couch.

It had barely been a month and Yuri feared they were already going to break up. She fought the tears from her eyes and stomped out of her apartment, deciding to go for a jog.

They didn’t talk for three days and Yuri felt like she was going insane. The both of them were too stubborn to approach the other first.

She didn’t realize how much she loved hearing her voice every day, even if it was just a simple ‘hello’. She rolled around in bed, trying to find a comfortable position. She let out a loud groan and frustratingly sat up.

“Why can’t I sleep!” she yelled out loud to herself. She grabbed a pillow and buried her face into it before falling back down onto the bed. She let out a loud scream into the pillow, kicking her legs up into the air like how a child would when they threw a tantrum. She kicked and thrashed in her bed. After realizing it wasn’t helping her sleep, she sat up in bed. She knew what she had to do. She threw the covers off of her and quickly got ready before rushing out of her apartment and walking to the only place she knew would clear her head.

She got there quicker than she had expected. Her legs had memorized the way and she hadn’t even realized it.

Once she stood in front of the door all of her confidence seemed to fly out of her body and she was left staring blankly at the door.

“Just knock, Yuri, just knock…just knock…just knock…just knock…” Yuri muttered to herself. She took a deep breath and lifted a hand to knock on the door. “Almost there…” Her hand hovered in front of the door, slowly inching closer.

The door swiftly opened just before her hand reached the door.

Yuri gaped at the girl in front of her, her hand hovering awkwardly in the air. “H – hey.”

“Hey.”

It felt like forever since she had heard the sweet voice.

The two girls stared at each other for what felt like hours before one of them finally decided to break the silence. “Do you want to come in?”

“Y – yeah. Sure.”

Jessica opened the door and Yuri walked in. She took off her shoes and turned around to face Jessica.

They continued their staring contest from before as Jessica leaned against the closed door.

“Sorry, I woke you, didn’t I?”

“You didn’t even knock, Yuri. I heard someone mumbling outside the door so I decided to see what it was. I couldn’t sleep anyway…”

“I couldn’t either.”

Another awkward silence.

“What are you doing here, Yuri?”

“I missed you.”

Yuri had blurted it out without thinking.

Jessica’s eyes softened. “I missed you too…”

“I’m sorry, but you have to understand Sica…there’s something that’s just been a little off about you ever since we got together. It’s like you’re hesitant about everything we do. You’re so cautious every time I come close to you. Are you scared? If you are, just tell me. We’ll take things slow. I promise, I’m not going to do anything to you. You just have to tell me, Sica. Tell me, and I’ll do it. I won’t hurt you. I won’t mess you up like he did…”

Jessica smiled. “I’m sorry too.”

“And I’ll start making sense, or I’ll try to at least. You know me, I never make sense. But I’ll try for you,” Yuri started rambling, “I’ll even try to stop embarrassing you like you always say I do. And I –”

A giggle cut her off. “Yuri,” Jessica said sternly.

“W – what?” Yuri stared worriedly at her. “What is it? Tell me, it’s okay! You can tell me anything, you know that? You –”

Jessica cut her off with a kiss. “You talk too much…”

Yuri grinned. “I can talk less if you want me to.”

Jessica giggled again and hugged her tightly. “Don’t. I like you this. And don’t stop making sense and don’t stop embarrassing me. I like you the way you are,” she mumbled against her shoulder. “But maybe you could do the embarrassing thing a little less…”

Yuri chuckled and felt a wave of relief wash over her. “Whatever you say, Sica.” She kissed the top of her head and returned the hug.

“And…I’m sorry for the way I’ve been acting. It’s not because I’m scared. I trust you. I know you won’t hurt me.”

Yuri tried to pull away but Jessica tightened her hold. “Then what is it?” she asked.

Jessica buried her face into the crook of her neck. “I like you a lot…” She could feel her face heating up. “And I don’t know how to act around you anymore…”

Yuri was confused. “What do you mean?”

“I…I want to be someone you could…someone you could fall in love with…” she mumbled against her neck.

Yuri couldn’t remember a time when she had a wider grin than the one she had on now. She let out a laugh. Jessica pulled away and glared at her. “Yah! What’s so funny?” She hit Yuri’s arm and Yuri sheepishly grinned at her.

“Just be yourself, Sica.” She leaned her forehead against hers. “I like you the way you are too.”

We could argue over stupid things and then make up a couple days later.

“What were you doing with him?”

“We were just having lunch, Yuri!”

Yuri huffed angrily and plopped down onto the couch. Jessica rolled at eyes at the girl before sitting down next to her. Yuri pouted and Jessica found it adorable.

“We’re just friends,” Jessica said kissing her on the cheek. Yuri turned her face away from her.

“You almost married the guy!”

“But I didn’t. Besides, the entire engagement was fake anyway! Blame Taeyeon and Tiffany for coming up with such an outrageous idea…”

Yuri turned back to look at her, but the pout was still on her face. “Aww, is someone jealous?”

“No!” Yuri shouted stubbornly. Jessica giggled at the child next to her. “Stop laughing!”

“Sorry…but it’s really nothing,” Jessica said as she gave Yuri a quick peck on the lips before resting her head on her shoulder. “And if you don’t remember, he helped us get together…”

“He also admitted to having feelings for you…”

Jessica rolled her eyes again, but she couldn’t help but find a jealous Yuri a little endearing. “He’s a good guy, Yuri…” She started planting kisses on Yuri’s neck and she grinned when she felt the taller girl start to relax.

“I can be a good guy too,” she mumbled.

Yuri turned to face her and Jessica stopped what she was doing and raised her eyebrows at the jealous girl. “Really now?” Jessica continued her previous activity.

“Yes really. I can be a better guy than he ever was,” Yuri said. Jessica let out a short yelp when she felt Yuri roughly push her down onto the couch. Yuri grinned down at the girl trapped below her before leaning down and on . Jessica let out a loud gasp.

“You know…” she breathed out, “he was a really good kisser too…”

Yuri lifted her head up. “Now you’re just doing this on purpose…” she mumbled before capturing her lips.

Jessica decided to note that a jealous Yuri was a Yuri she’d like to see more often.

We could get jealous when one of us is out with someone else.

Jessica held the stuffed toy in front of her and frowned. “Why does she like stuff like this…” She shrugged it off and hugged it close to her, not knowing another way to hold the big stuffed toy.

She made her way to the other girl’s apartment ignoring the stares she was getting along the way. It wasn’t her fault her girlfriend was into childish stuff like this.

She reached Yuri’s apartment and it didn’t take long for the door to open. Yuri stared at the girl standing outside her door for the longest time.

“Yah! Hurry and take this thing from me!”

Yuri laughed and took the huge stuffed toy from her arms. Jessica brushed past the girl admiring what she was holding and made herself comfortable inside her apartment. “So I’m guessing you like it?”

“Like it? I love it!” Yuri shut the door with her foot and hugged the huge Mickey Mouse in her arms. It was a little more than half her size. “What is this for?”

“It’s for you,” Jessica stated plainly, lazily leafing through a magazine.

Yuri looked up at her with a hopeful look in her eyes. “Really?”

“Of course it’s for you. Why else would I buy such a ridiculous thing?”

“Yah! It’s not ridiculous! It’s so cute!” Yuri hugged it even tighter. Jessica couldn’t help but smile at the childish glee that Yuri had.

“Well I’m glad you like it. I feel like you’re always the one doing things for me and I remember that time you were rambling on about how cute this was a couple months ago and complaining that you don’t have enough Mickey Mouse related things.”

Jessica didn’t notice that Yuri was no longer admiring the stuffed toy. Yuri made her way over to Jessica and placed the toy next to her on the couch. Jessica looked up at the girl gazing at her with a look that Jessica didn’t recognize. Jessica stared back at her blankly.

“What?”

“A couple months ago? That was before we even got together, Sica.”

“Yeah, so?”

Yuri didn’t say anything else and swiftly leaned down and captured her lips.

We could buy each other gifts for no reason.

“Sica? What’s wrong?” Yuri quickly ran to the girl crying in one of the seats and pulled her into a hug.

“Yuri…what are you doing here?”

“Tiffany called me. What happened, Sica? Come on, let’s go home.”

“No, it’s nothing. Just…stay here with me.”

Yuri complied and pulled away to wipe away the tears. She cupped Jessica’s face and smiled. “You know…how is it that even when you’re crying you still manage to look so beautiful?” Yuri asked softly wiping away each tear as it fell. “It’s not fair, Sica…You’re too pretty…”

Jessica giggled.

“You really are, you know that? I’ve always thought that, even when I first met you. You were like an angel greeting me on my deathbed. No, you are and angel because there’s no way a human could ever be so gorgeous.” Yuri grinned when the tears stopped and decided to keep going. “I’ve said it already, but you’re beautiful when you cry. And you know what? You’re beautiful when you’re not crying. You’re beautiful when you’re doing anything, but you’re the most beautiful when you smile at me, Sica. Not at anyone else. Just me.”

Jessica smiled at her. “You’re so cheesy.”

“You love it.” Yuri rested her forehead against hers. “I like you.”

“I like you more.”

“I don’t think that’s possible.”

We could say cheesy things to each other.

“Surprise!”

Jessica’s mouth dropped.

“You got a car?!”

Yuri grinned at her and nodded. “Yup. Years of saving up finally paid off!” she yelled. She looked at Jessica from the open window.

“But Yuri, everywhere we go is usually within a walking distance…”

“Don’t spoil my fun and just get in!”

Jessica laughed and walked around the front of the car to reach the passenger side and got in. Yuri eagerly started the engine and drove off.

After a couple minutes of silence Jessica finally spoke up. “Yuri, where are we even going?”

Yuri grinned, eyes focused on the road. “You’ll see.”

Jessica did a quick scan of the car. “It’s a pretty nice car though…”

“Glad you think that. It’s yours too.”

Jessica snapped her head to face Yuri. “What?!”

“What’s mine is yours, Sica.” Yuri quickly glanced at Jessica before chuckling at the dumbfounded expression.

Yuri pulled into a drive-in movie theater. “We’re here!”

“Yuri…”

“You said you always wanted to go to one of these, right? Wasn’t it like, your dream date or whatever?” Yuri said reaching into the backseat and pulling out food and drinks for them.

“Yeah…it is…”

Yuri looked up at her. “What’s wrong?”

Jessica smiled and grabbed Yuri’s hand. “Nothing. Let’s just watch the movie.”

Yuri grinned back at her and gripped her hand tighter.

Jessica realized that it didn’t matter where they went for a date. Wherever they were, Yuri still triggered the same feelings inside of her.

We could go out on dates with each other.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Jessica let out a loud yawn.

“Yah! Go shower first!”

“What about you?”

“I’ll go home when you fall asleep. It shouldn’t take too long anyway,” Yuri said lightly chuckling at the sleepy girl. Jessica didn’t object and groggily walked inside the bathroom.

Yuri sighed and fell down onto her bed. They had both gotten so busy the past two months that they had barely seen each other. Today was the first time they had gone out in a while and their waiter had ended spilling their food all over Jessica, who had blown up at the poor guy and stormed out of the restaurant. They ended up buying street food and headed straight home. They were both tired and all Yuri wanted to do was go home, but she had gone too long without seeing the other girl. She wanted to spend as much time with her as possible.

She sat up on her bed leaning against the headboard and let out a loud yawn, not being able to hold it in.

Jessica came out of the bathroom and climbed into bed next to Yuri. “You should just spend the night. I don’t feel comfortable with you driving when you’re so tired.”

“I’m not tired!” Yuri couldn’t hold in another yawn.

“Of course you aren’t,” Jessica said pushing Yuri onto the bed and giving her a quick peck on the lips before snuggling up next to her. Yuri automatically wrapped her arms around the figure clinging onto her and smiled, liking the way they managed to fit so perfectly together. It always baffled her, how nice Jessica’s body felt against her own. She was so sure that this girl was her other half, and she wouldn’t have it any other way.

Yuri closed her eyes and the both of them drifted off to sleep.

It was without a doubt the best sleep that either of them ever had.

Jessica opened her eyes the next morning only to be greeted with the sight of Yuri sleeping. She had to stifle a laugh after seeing her girlfriend. Yuri had the tendency to stick out her tongue while she was sleeping and this little sleeping of hers never failed to amuse Jessica. It was rare she ever woke up before Yuri, so she treasured the times she did. It wasn’t long before Yuri opened her eyes and caught Jessica staring at her. She shot an accusing look her way and Jessica only grinned and kissed her.

“I wouldn’t mind waking up to this every day…” Yuri mumbled in between kisses.

Jessica pulled away, an excited glint in her eyes. “Why don’t you?”

“W – what?”

“Move in with me,” Jessica said shyly.

Yuri’s eyes widened. “A – are you serious?”

Jessica nodded. “We’d get to see each other more…and I like this.”

“Like what?”

“Waking up next to you. It’s the best way to wake up, really.”

Yuri laughed. “I think my cheesiness is spreading to you.”

“Yeah, I hate it.”

“You love it.”

Jessica rolled her eyes. “So is that a yes?”

Yuri grinned. “I can’t think of a reason to say no.”

Jessica giggled and hit her on the shoulder.

“Ow! What was that for?”

“Go take a shower, you stink.”

We could fall asleep next to each other and wake up next to each other the next morning.

Seven girls shot an amused look to a certain couple in their world.

“I don’t get it,” Sooyoung said cluelessly, furrowing her eyebrows in confusion.

Yuri and Jessica were still laughing and no one understood why. “You had to be there,” Yuri managed to say before bursting out into laughter again.

“But all we said was mayonnaise. What’s so funny about that?” Yoona asked raising an eyebrow at the two. They broke out into another fit of laughter as soon as Yoona had said the word again.

“Because…” It was all Jessica could get out before bursting out laughing again.

“Um, right…why don’t we all just go back to work?” Taeyeon said slowly getting up and leaving. Tiffany just laughed and shook her head before following Taeyeon. The rest of them eventually decided to get up and leave the couple in their own world, shaking their head at the ridiculous pair.

Yuri and Jessica shared a knowing look.

There were some things that only they would understand.

We could laugh at inside jokes that only we would understand.

“Yah! That’s mine!”

“What’s yours is mine!”

“Get your own ice cream!”

Yuri took her bowl of ice cream she had prepared for herself and guarded it with her hands, glaring at the ice princess. Though, glaring at the girl who was the queen of icy glares probably wasn’t a very good idea.

“Yah! Kwon Yuri!”

Yuri honestly didn’t mind sharing some of the tasty treat with the girl. It started out as a joke, but an angry Sica was just too y for her to pass up.

Oh god, she’s turned me into a masochist…

“Alright, alright! Here!” Yuri shouted before grabbed a handful of ice cream and smeared it all over Jessica’s face. Yuri smirked and the ice cream off of her hands. “Happy?” Jessica didn’t make eye contact and slowly stood up. Yuri helplessly grinned at the glaring girl hovering over her. Jessica lunged towards her and Yuri had unconsciously grabbed a bottle of chocolate and squirted its contents onto her. Jessica squealed and dropped open in shock. Even Yuri was surprised with what she had done.

“It’s on!” Jessica screamed before grabbing the can of whipped cream and squirted it on me. Yuri’s mouth dropped in shock and she stayed in that position for a couple seconds before she heard Jessica giggle and her attention turned to the other girl the chocolate off of her fingers. Yuri knew she wasn’t angry anymore and they shared a grin before they both started throwing whatever food they could at each other, their main weapons being chocolate and whipped cream.

They were laughing so hard that they ran out of breath by the time they had used up all the chocolate in the bottle and the whipped cream in the can. They stared at each other before they both crashed their lips on each other. Yuri pushed Jessica up against the counter, skipping over any build up and forcefully sticking her tongue in Jessica’s mouth. She pulled away and began off the chocolate and whipped cream on Jessica’s face and neck.

“Hmm…you need to clean up this mess…Yuri…” Jessica half moaned out. She let out a gasp when Yuri started on .

“Mhmm, later…” Yuri mumbled against her neck. Yuri pulled away and smirked at the flushed face. “Still want that ice cream?”

Jessica pulled Yuri to the couch and pushed her down, straddling her.

“Later.”

We could eat off of each other plates.

Jessica sobbed into Yuri’s shoulder. Yuri held in a sigh and rubbed her back comfortingly, trying her best not to roll her eyes at the bawling girl.

“Isn’t it so sad?”

“Yup.

Jessica hit her on the shoulder. “Yah!”

Yuri innocently looked at her girlfriend. “What?”

“Were you even paying attention?”

“Of course I was!”

“…”

“Alright, so I fell asleep halfway through…”

“…”

“I’m sorry, Sica! But couldn’t they at least try to make the main character not so creepy? I mean, the guy was practically stalking her at one point! What's so romantic about that?”

“…”

“Sica?”

Jessica sighed and threw her hands up in the air. “Why do I even bother…I should just go watch these movies with Tiffany!”

“Hey, I tried! I just don’t understand these movies…why watch two people fall in love when you can go and do it yourself, with about a thousand times less drama?” Yuri turned to Jessica and grinned. “Why watch two people fall in love when you could be falling in love with me?”

Jessica rolled her eyes, but she couldn’t hide the blush that rose to her cheeks.

We could watch those stupid romance movies you like so much.

“I love you.”

“I love you too.”

We could fall in love.

Chapter 42: Very touching! It got me thinking a lot of things about deserving to be happy, understanding and acceptance. One can't really have it all. But one thing's for sure, everyone deserves to be understood and accepted for what or who they are. I had a good time reading all of these. Thank u. :)
