I couldn’t sleep last night, worried sick about Kibum. How can he be on enemy territory? Is he really in a combat unit? How? He has only been in the army for seven month.

We do not get much information about the units that have advanced to North Korean territory. I’m not even sure what the purpose of sending them there is, since we’re officially only in defensive position. Advancing beyond the border seems like an act of aggression.

I really wish I knew what kind of unit Kibum has joined to be so far out in the line of fire.

We’re still in Cheorwon so I took my chances and tried to contact Minho. He didn’t answer his phone. But I reached Changmin-Hyung.

After hastily confirming to each other that nothing serious had happened to our knowledge he told me that he and Minho are well and still in the same unit. They have been sent to Hwachon which is not much more than an hour away from Cheorwon.

I will need to check if I may go there to see them. Even if it’s just for an hour I really want to.

I’ve asked my superior for permission to go to Hwachon. He’s a sturdy middle-aged man. For some reason he only made it to Captain, but he’s a likable person and I’m glad to be in his unit.

He gave me a scrutinizing look then smiled and handed me a passport for tomorrow morning!
