The Manual

“I wish-“

“Before you finish that, it better not be no dumb crap, Jackson.”

Jackson turned from laying on his back on the grass to looking at him friend in wow as he had sat completely up with his words.

Jackson sighed, “If you wish to know, you would let me finish.”

“Whatever, I bet it’s dumb anyway.”

“It’s not,” he said feeling hurt by the words a little bit. He laid down again looking back at the sky like before, “I wish for the perfect person to come into my life and show me what love is.”

“You and me both but, Jackson, you can wish for it but, that doesn’t mean it’s going to come true.”

“It never will if you think like that. Jae Bum, just cause it didn’t work out with Young Jae doesn’t mean-“

“I don’t want to talk about it, Jackson. Let’s drop it.”

Jackson sighed, said okay to him and closed his eyes. He knew that whatever he wished for would come true. All the people in his past weren’t good for him. They wanted either or to be in his life for a season; nothing serious at all. He fell in love too quick. He just wanted to find a person that was going to come into his life to heal the pain of the others that had put the pain there in the first place. Someone that he would fall head over heels with and not feel disappointed about it later on when the person didn’t return his feelings because the person would love him back.

“Jackson, do you see the shooting star?”

Jackson opened his eyes as JB explain to him what it was, he saw the star move across the sky. He closed his eyes and wished on what he wanted to the most.

                                                                          To be loved;

but first he had to learn what love was.

                                                                       2 Months Later

“Jackson, meet Jinyoung.”

Jackson looked up from his book and saw the black haired boy standing next to JB holding his hand. Jackson smiled, it wasn’t a bitter one since he knew that JB getting with someone other than Young Jae was sign that this person must be someone special in his life.

“Well Hello. I’m Jackson but, JB told you that already.”

Jinyoung smiled back at him and stuck out his hand, “Yeah, he did, I’m Jinyoung but, you can call me Jr. I like that better than my name. It’s too long. “

Jackson grabbed ahold of his hand and shook it. He didn’t know what to think of him. All he had to go on was a name and a smile that could brighten up anyone’s day.

Jb was happy with the little communication that he saw between Jackson and Jr. He wanted to get Jackson opinion before he went any further in this relationship with Jr.

“Jr, can you excuse me and Jackson for a moment.”

“Sure.” Letting go of Jackson’s hand and walking over to the other side of the building.

Jb watched him, making sure he was out of hearing their conversation. Once he was in the isles, Jb, turned to Jackson with a light smile on his face, “So what do you think?”

“Well, I can’t really say anything since he was only here for 3 minutes before you told him to leave. As far as I saw, he cool.”

“You know what I mean, Jackson. What do you think about him?”

Jackson pushed his glasses up on his face and gave Jb a look, he must really like this boy because he was so hyper but, a calm hyper. Don’t ask how that can happen but, Jb is a strange one in Jackson’s eyes.

“His smile is beautiful. He made me happy inside and I wasn’t even in the mood for no one.”

“I think he is the one-“

“Jb, let’s not rush this, you don’t kno-“

“I think he is. You don’t understand how he make me feel, Jackson. He changes everything that I use to think about love and-“

“Jb, love? You barely know him-“

“So, it doesn’t feel like we’ve only known each other for 2 months. It’s feels like it been longer-“

“I don’t think you should rush into this. You know what happened with Young Jae.”

Jb stopped smiling and looked at him with anger trapped in his eyes.

“I thought you of all people would understand or at least support it.”

“I’m just looking after you.”

Jb gave a confused look.

“When did you turn into me and I turn into you?”

“I’m still the same-“

“Hell no. No you’re not. You are acting like me after the situation that happened earlier this year with Young Jae. I stopped thinking like that after I started listening to you go on about not giving up and we can find that right person. I don’t see that same person right now.”

Jackson got up,”Jae Bum, are you listening to yourself?  I? Stopped caring? I know that that fairy tale crap isn’t going to happen because I got tired. I gave up. I didn’t change, I stopped being so ing naïve.”

“You told me not to give up and I didn’t and look. I found someone who I care for a lot that doesn’t even show signs of being like Young Jae at all. I feel like I can love him better than I did Young Jae because he might not use me like he did.”

“Key word: might not. You don’t know that. See what listening to Naïve Jackson gets you? It will get you hurt.”

Jb rolled his eyes and grabbed his jacket from the chair behind him.

“Screw you, Jackson,” he said walking away feeling hurt. He wanted to just find Jr and get out of there before cried which he usually never did.

Jackson sat there feeling guilty. He was jealous that a person that didn’t want love got it and he couldn’t; he felt like he deserved it more. He felt bad for going off on Jb but, he was hiding his emotion which were going crazy in his head. He got up after grabbing his pen and book.

He turned to walk away from the table when was pushed into the chair, hitting his back into the chair he was just sitting in. He cringed from the pain that shoot through his back as slide down that chair onto the floor.

“I’m sorry.”

“You better be.”

He looked up to see the person that push him into the chair, a curly haired boy stood in front of him looking guilty for pushing him.

“I wasn’t looking at where I was going. I am so sorry. You’re not hurt are you?”

“It’s just a pain in my back.”

“Let me help you up.”

He tried to help him up even though Jackson really didn’t want him to do anything for him. He felt the pain still in his back even when he got up from the floor with the boys helps. He got a good look at his face and stare at it. He hadn’t seen him before; it was a small town; he would know if he lived here and he didn’t.

“You new here?”

“Y-yeah.”

“Well thanks for helping me up. I need to go,” Jackson said to him, trying to get past the boy but, he grabbed a hold of Jackson’s hand softly, stopping Jackson from walking further away from him.

“You didn’t tell me your name.”

“I didn’t think you would need it to be honest with you.”

The boy looked Jackson in the eyes and lightly smile at him.

“It’s Jackson.”

With that he took off out of the place. Before he could get all the way out he heard the boy scream to him, “It was nice meeting you. My names Mark.”

Jackson stopped for a second and turned to him and smile when he saw the people around upset with him for the outburst but, he looked like he didn’t care from how he was looking.

Jackson shook his head with a smirk and turned back around to walk out.

-

                                                               1 Months Later…

“When are you going to talk to him again,” Mark asked while lying on Jackson’s bed.

Jackson walked out of the bathroom with his toothbrush him his mouth, “I don’t know, Mark.”

Mark and him had gotten closer since everywhere Jackson looked, Mark was there. Weather it was the Dance class or the basketball court, he was there at the same time Jackson was. They had a lot in common once Jackson stopped ignoring Mark.

Mark had asked him about what he was doing that day they had first met and Jackson told him about it, telling him even about the fight that he and his best friend had minutes before they had met. Mark had asked him had he talked to him since the whole thing had happened which made Jackson think about it; no, no he hadn’t talked to Jb since it happened a month ago. Which lead the question that was asked about when he was going to talk to him again; he asks it every day.

“You need to talk to him, Jackson. He’s your best friend.”

“I know. I know he’s upset with me still, even though I would be too cause I was a complete to him that day. I’m scared to talk to him.”

Mark sat from the bed and walked over to Jackson which was just standing there with a sad expression on his face. Mark looked him in the eyes searching for something inside his eyes.

“Jackson, he is your best friend. You need to apologize to him and talk to him. I know you miss him.”

“I just don’t want him to hate me.”

“I doubt he does.”

Mark pulled Jackson into a hug; Jackson latched onto him tightly. It felt warm; safe in his arms. He let go and stepped back from Mark trying not to get attached to him.

“I’ll text him later so we can meet up.”

Mark smiled at him, “Okay. I’m going to make sure you do it. Now finish brushing your teeth because your breath stinks.”

“Oh shut up, Mark.” Jackson walked back into the bathroom to finish brushing his teeth.

-

“What do you Jackson?”

“I want to talk to you.”

“Oh, so now all of a sudden you want to talk?”

Jackson put his head down. They met at the coffee shop down the street from Jb’s house so they could talk. He felt nervous talking to Jb and him being angry wasn’t helping him either.

“I know I should have talked to you after it happened but, I knew you were angry so I didn’t and so much stuff has happened that I just didn’t- It’s no excuse for it.”

“What do you want to say Jackson, I have to pick up Jr from work.”

“Jr? You’re still with him? I’m-I’m happy for you.”

“Yes, we’re still together.”

“Oh, I’m happy for you Jb.”

Jb looked at him, “Jackson cut the crap. Why did you call me here?”

“I wanted to say sorry.”

“Don’t say you’re a sorry, you apologize. You’re not a sorry person.”

“I apologize for how I acted a month ago. I was rude and disrespectful to you and Jr. I apologize to him as well. Jb, you’re my best friend. I love you like a brother and I only want what’s best for you. I knew you were happy with him on how you kept on going on about someone you were talking to and I was happy for you but, deep inside I was jealous.

Jb drank his coffee while listening to Jackson talk, “I knew that you probably had found someone but, I wanted to have someone too. You knew how long it been since I had a relationship that wasn’t bs? Never because they didn’t care for me but, me, I care for them just to get my heart ripped out in the ending. I put guards up and take them down when I think people want me just the same but, dumb me, I was wrong every time. So after that night with the shooting star, I gave up because I started to believe you and what you said. But then you found someone, you found love and I was jealous because for the longest time you didn’t want anyone and all of a sudden, things are good for you and I’m still here, waiting. Waiting on nothing. So I lashed out on you and I should have.”

Tears made their way down his face, “I didn’t mean to, I was upset that I can’t get what I want and everyone else around me can. I put my guard up again even though now I want to let it down, I can’t. I apologize Jb, I really do because I love you so much. I didn’t mean to at all.”

Jb got up and walked over to the other side of the table to hug his best friend. Jackson kept saying sorry over and over into Jb’s ear while Jb said its okay to him.

“Jackson shh…shh.. I got you. I didn’t hate you. I love you. I forgive you.”

“I-“

“Shh… You will find that person that will love you.”

“I-I don’t even know what that is.”

“What is what?”

“Love.”

-

“So how did it go?” Mark said when he heard the door open. He eyes still glued to the screen.

When he didn’t hear Jackson say anything, he looked up to see the red eyed of the boy making him throw his phone against the sofa and get up to comfort him.

“What happened Jackson?”

Jackson looked up at Mark while Mark wrapped his arms around his waist.

“He forgave me.”

“That’s good, Jackson. What’s the problem?”

“It’s just something that he told me afterwards that kind of hurt. We’re good though.”

Mark pulled back, arms still around his waist, “You don’t have to tell me. I going to be there for you as your friend.”

“Okay. I’m just going to lay down.” He pulled away from Mark and walked into his room.

“You can stay over,” He started but after realizing what he had said, “t-that’s if you w-want.”

“Yeah, um. I’ll stay over.”

“Good, um, you can sleep on the love seat.”

Mark smiled at him and sat down on the love seat while Jackson watched from inside the room.

“I’ll bring fresh blankets for you. “He walked all the way into the room and close the door, letting out a breath of air that he didn’t know he had in him while against the door. He slide down the door.

“I don’t like him. He is just my friend. Just friends.”

-

Mark got up that next morning earlier than ever. The sun from the window hit his face making him get up in the first place. He got up and went over to his bag to get his clothes out of it. He took a shower like he had done many times before, his bathroom was just like Jackson’s so he didn’t have to wake him up.

Once he got out of the shower, he walked in the kitchen to see the phone adaptor. He put his phone on it and played the songs that he listened to the most and walked into the room with a drink in his hand. He walked into Jackson’s room and saw him still sleep. He walked to his side of the bed, and leaned over to give him a kiss on his cheek that lasted till he felt him stir in sleep.

He walked out the door, back into the kitchen to start making breakfast. Well at least a little.

-

Jackson got up and walked into the living room to not see Mark laying on the love seat. He started to think he had left till he walked into the kitchen to see Mark making breakfast. He leaned on the bookshelf that was right in front of the kitchen.

Mark was humming to himself listening to It Won’t Stop while waiting for the toast to be done. Jackson just watched in awe as the boy worked his kitchen like he had been doing it his whole life. He liked it; he like how he fit right there, in his kitchen; in his life.

Jackson coughed to get Mark’s attention making him drop the knife he had for the butter onto the floor. Mark turned to him and gave a guilty smile while scratching the back of his neck.

“I…was-“

“Making breakfast without me.” Jackson said with a smirk on his face still leaning on the bookcase.

“Sort of. I was going to make it for you and bring it to you but,…I guess I don’t have to do that since you’re already up and all…”

“You can still do it. I just didn’t see you in the living room so I thought you left. Glad you didn’t.”

“I apologize for using your kitchen, I should have asked first.”

Jackson walked over to the stove where Mark stood still waiting on the toast to be done.

“You’re good. I was just going to go out to eat. I get tired of making breakfast. It’s nice. Thank you.”

Mark smiled and leaned on the stove, “Glad because I used your shower too.”

“You had no problems working it?”

“No, it was easy; just like mine at home.”

Jackson picked the knife from off the floor and took it to the sink, “You never told me where you live?”

“I-I live close by.”

“Maybe we can start going over to your house instead of coming over to my dump. I know you get tired of seeing my stuff everywhere,” Jackson as he started to wash the dishes that Mark from the breakfast which wasn’t a lot.

“Mine is no better. I like your house better than mine. You wouldn’t like mines at all.”

Jackson turned to him point a spoon at him, “I would like anything yours, stop downing yourself. You’re pushing it on me.”

Mark was about to say something when the toast popped up from the toasted landing on the stove and the other almost in the sink where Jackson was washing dishes. Jackson turned to see Mark covering his face from getting hit with toast making the black haired boy laugh.

“It’s just toast Mark.”

Mark pulled his hands down to see where the toast landed and then to see the smile on Jackson face. His cheeks turned pink of embarrassment, “I thought I was going to get hit.”

Jackson dried his hands off and walked over to Mark with the toast that landed near the sink in his hand, “This toast is no match to you Mark. Look at it.”

Mark looked at the toast and then back at Jackson looking at the toast, “This toast ran away from you because he knew he wasn’t going to win.”

“You’re just trying to cheer me up after you made fun of me.”

“No I’m not. I am saying, he didn’t want none, neither did his friend over there,” he said point to the toast that was laying on the stove untouched. “We aren’t going to eat the toast. One is soapy anyways and I don’t know about you but, I don’t want to be coughing up bubbles during the day.”

Mark nodded and walked to the plates that laid on the counter, “Our food is right here.”

Jackson picked both of the pieces of bread and threw them in the trashcan and walked over to the counter staring at the food.

“I don’t know about you, but I’m hungry so you can stand there but, I’m going to get sit down and eat it. If you like, you can join me but, if not, you can just stand there. I don’t have a standing fee.”

With that, he made his way to the dining room and sat down, ready to eat his food not seeing Mark watching him from the other side smiling at the boy with fascination.

-

“I was invited to hang out with Jb and Jr later on today. You can come if you want so I won’t be alone.

Mark turned to him. They were in the living room watching TV. That was all they had been doing since breakfast and after Jackson took a shower.

“I was going to ask you if you want to hang out.”

“We are hanging out.”

“No,” Mark paused the game making Jackson make a noise, “I don’t mean like this. I mean going outside of the house and hanging out.”

Jackson got off his stomach and turned to his side so he can look at the boy while he was talking; he was confused.

“And what would we be doing?”

“That’s the thing, we can honestly do anything.”

Jackson eyebrow raised to him, “We can’t do anything. We can’t go skinny dipping.”

“Jackson, who brought up skinny dipping?”

“I’m just saying, we can’t do whatever we want. Maybe one of us want to do something really stupid-“

“Like you?”

“Yes, like m- no, shut up Mark-“

“I was just saying…”

“No one asked you.-Like I was saying. We would get in trouble if we did anything that we wanted.”

“You mean you would.”

“Mark… I going to kick you out.”

Mark started to laugh at how Jackson’s face was, “Jackson, just forget I asked.”

“But you wanted to hang out. I just want to know what we’ll be doing.”

“We’re going to do what I think up when we start to hang out.”

Jackson stared at him for a long time till he found words to fit, “You have no clue what to do, do you?”

Mark got up and walked to the door making Jackson quickly get to his feet to meet up with his friend. Mark had grabbed his coat putting it and getting ready to open the door when Jackson stopped him by grabbing his hand.

“I’ll go with you, I was just being stupid.”

Mark stopped putting the coat on making part of it fall to the floor, “No, you not stupid, you’re just curious. You know curiosity killed the cat.”

“Then I’m gone then. So are we going or what?”

Mark turned to face him; Jackson was trying not to laugh, “Jackson, do you want to hang out with me even though you don’t know where we’re going?”

“Well when you say it like that, no because you might kill me.”

“Jackson-“

“Look at how you said it Mark!-“

“Forget it Jackson-“

“No-okay Yes. I mean yes to the hang out part.”

“I don’t know if I want to take you.”

“Why!? I just said yes Mark. Come on!”

Mark started laughing making Jackson happy inside, he never really paid attention to it till he was staring at him right now. He liked it, he could listen to it every day.

“Okay, get your coat and we can go.”

Jackson ran to the back and grabbed his jacket that had his name on it. He walked back into the room to see Mark’s coat already on while he was looking at him phone.

“I’m ready to go.”

“Let’s go. I know you don’t have you name on your jacket?”

“I do and you do too. Ow, give me yours and you can where mine.”

“But, my names not Jackson.”

“So.” Jackson took his off and look at Mark waiting for him to do his the same. Mark took it off and handed it Jackson who snatched it from his grip and threw his at Mark, hitting him in the face with it. Mark took it from his face to see Jackson with it on already, he turned around and put the jacket he had in his hand on.

“Don’t you look good in my jacket?”

“I thought I looked good without it.”

“Nope. We do have to stop by Jb’s so I can get my stuff. He wanted me to get it today or he was going to throw it out.”

“Okay, now can we go?”

Jackson nodded making Mark open the door and walk out with Jackson right behind him.

-

Jackson knocked on the door of Jb’s house with Mark right beside him with his phone in his hands. The door opened to for Jackson to see Jr standing there smiling.

“Jackson, nice to see you again, come in come in,” Jr said waving them inside the house through the open the door.

“Nice to see you too Jr. Where’s my best friend at?”

“He’s should be coming from the back right n-“

“Jackson, you was supposed to be here an hour ago. Where the were you?”

Jackson gasped at his friend, “Excuse me, no ‘hello Jackson. How was your day, Jackson? I haven’t seen you such a long time, JACKSON’.”

Jb walked over to Jackson pulling him to a hug, “You know I missed you but, you are late.”

“When am I not?”

“You’re right-well I’m glad you’re here,” He turned to the see Jr standing next to a unknown person which he gave a confused look to, “Who is this?”

Jackson turned to see Mark and smile to him, “That’s my friend Mark. MARK! Come here and meet my best friend.”

Mark stopped the conversation with Jr and walked over to Jackson and smile at Jb, “Nice to finally meet you. Jackson practically talks about you a day if I let him.”

“I don’t talk about him, I hate him,” he said earning a smack to the back of his head from Jb.

He winced at it and looked up at Jb to see him staring at Mark with curious eyes.

“So you’re his friend? For how long?”

“For almost 2 months.”

“Hm,…how old are you Mark?”

“21, and you?”

“21 too-“

Jackson jumped in, “I’m 20. How about you Jr?”

Jr eyes widen at being put on the spot, “I-I’m 20.”

“We both got older men, Jr.” Jackson said happily till he realized what he said and covered his mouth.

“You’re dating Jackson, Mark-“

“No sir-“

“Did you just call me sir-“

“No sir- I mean Jb-“

“It’s Jae Bum to you-“

“Sorry Jae Bum-“

“I don’t like how you say it-“

“Oh come off it Jb-“Jackson said sitting down next to Jr,” Yeah Jb, leave the poor boy alone. He looks nervous.”

Jb looked at them then back at Mark who was standing there waiting on the next blow to him.

“I was just kidding with you, “Jb started to laugh along with the others making Mark confused, “I was just messing with you. I had to see if you could fit it in with us. You passed well, but, your faces are funny. Jackson where did you find him?”

“He bumped into me the day we got into that argument.”

“So you the reason he forgot to apologize to me for a whole month?” Jb said staring him, a hint a playfulness in his eyes.

Mark relaxed at that, “I didn’t mean to. I kept telling him to talk to you but, he was scared. I was the one who made him talk to you when he did because he really didn’t want to.”

“Well, I thank you for that. Jackson, he’s nice. I don’t see why he’s friends with you.”

Jr laughed at it while Jackson made a face to Jb, “I still got you so what does that say about you?”

“I take pity on people like you. It’s good to help to little people sometimes.”

Jackson saw Mark cover up a laugh while Jr wasn’t hold back his, “You’re not funny Jae-.”

“Oh you got jokes. Stop acting like a child Jackson.”

“I’m not! Let’s go Mark. Jr and his mutt have things to do.”

“I’m not a dog Jackson. Remember when you were the one that-“

Jackson looked at him after getting up, “Shut it .”

Jb laughed and walked over to the angry Jackson, holding his arms out for Jackson to walk into them; which he did.

“You don’t have to leave. You know it’s all humor.”

“I know but, I still have to go. Mark and I are going somewhere.”

Jb looked at Mark from Jackson’s shoulder, “Where are y’all going?”

Jackson rolled his eyes, especially when he heard Jr’s cat calls from the other side of the room, “We are going to hang out.”

“But you have been hanging out with him for a whole month. It’s my turn,” he looked at Mark, “My Jackson.”

“Shut it, boy. I’ll hang out with you tomorrow. Promise.”

“Promise?”

“Yeah now, I’m about to go.”

Jb walked them both to the door, “Have a nice night,” from the back, you can hear Jr saying ‘don’t do nothing I wouldn’t ‘.

“We will and Jr, don’t think I won’t fight you.”

“Yeah whatever. Leave Jackson.”

Jackson looked at Jb, “What have you done to him? Why he treat me like you do? He wasn’t like that before.”

“Oh shut it Jackson, I did nothing. Now go.”

-

2 Months Later…

Jackson was in the room staring at the book on the dresser. It was his book that he had had since he was in high school. He hadn’t wrote in it since Mark came into his life. He walked to the dresser and grabbed the book. He sat down on the bed and opened the book to the last page that he wrote in.

I wonder why I still haven’t found someone to complete me, like am I ugly. I don’t think I am but, that’s just my opinion to be honest. Jb told me that I was a good looking guy but, I just think he was just being nice to me since I was his best friend. Don’t best friends tell you crap like that to cheer you up even though they don’t mean it? I don’t know. He can find anyone he wanted, he was beautiful, and everyone loved him. He can find someone like that but someone like me couldn’t even if I tired, you know how many people I have had relations with? It will show that I’m not worth it. Even my ex-boyfriend said that to me. I think I should just get with Jb and if that doesn’t work out then start adopting hell of dogs. I don’t s with cats like that, they sneaky. I think it might work out between me and Jb, I mean we’ve been friends for the longest time, if I want to end up with anyone, it’s my best friend because I know he won’t leave me. I don’t know, I’m confused.

Jackson close it and put the book back on the table. He didn’t really think like that anymore, he couldn’t be with Jb no way; especially how he and Jr are with each other. He didn’t see them breaking up anytime soon. In those months since he had first meet Mark, he opinion on love has changed again. He had fallen in love with Mark. It was crazy to him that he did because he couldn’t love him. They knew each other well but, he didn’t want Mark to break his heart like the rest. The love he had grown for the boy was different than the rest, if he had broken him with a no, he wouldn’t come back off of it.

He found a sheet of paper on the side of the bed once he laid back on the bed.

He looked at it for a second before picking it up.

Jackson’s Wish

To Be Loved

To find out what love feels like

Jackson looked at the paper for another minute; he didn’t think he was reading it right. The writing was Mark’s but, how could Mark know what his wish was? It was strange.

He got up from the bed and walked to the door. He opened it up to see Mark stand there about to knock on it.

“Jackson I-“

“Mark, we need to talk.”

Mark nodded and walked to the living room and sat down on the love seat.

Jackson stood in one spot, he didn’t feel like being near Mark; he needed answers.

“So what’s up?”

Jackson put the paper with his wish on it up and looked at Mark, “Care to explain this to me?”

Mark got up and walked to Jackson to see the paper. Jackson slammed the paper in Mark’s chest; Mark grabbed it and put it to his face so he could read it. Mark’s eyes grew big and looked up from the paper to see Jackson’s blank face.

“What is this Mark?”

“Jackson, where did you get this?”

“It wasn’t that hard to find, it was just lying on the bed.”

“I don’t know how to explain this-“

“Well I can do it for you. Answer me this: how did you know my wish in the first place?”

“I- You’re not going to believe me anyway.”

“Right now, you need to tell me something because I’m a second from going off.”

Mark looked at Jackson, “Sit down and I’ll tell you.”

Jackson just kept staring at Mark, not moving from the spot.

“Please Jackson.”

Jackson sighed and walked over to the love seat. Mark watched him do so and once he was seated, he sat down on the other end of the sofa.

“This is was not the way this was supposed to go…,” Mark said under his breath but, Jackson heard him and cocked his eyebrow up to Mark.

“How was supposed to go? I just want to know, I’m not mad.”

“Every time you say you’re not mad, times out of ten, you are.”

“Mark, shut up. Tell me what happened.”

“Okay, if I start to tell you. You can’t say nothing while I’m talking.”

Jackson nodded, he just wanted to know why and how he knew.”

“Jackson…oh god…um… I’m not from here-“

“I thought we cleared that up when we first met-“

“Jackson,” he said annoyed at the boy for interrupting him right after he said he wouldn’t talk.
