Chanwoo smiled and blew out the candles

Ikon celebrated his birthday, twice.
First, it was in the morning, they blew candles, played games, gave Chanwoo gifts, ate the cake.
Second, it was in the evening, they did a V-Live

"Appear in the camera! It's your birthday!" Hanbin exclaimed, giving him the phone

Chanwoo rolls his eyes, swallowing his food first then taking the camera

Chanwoo stares at the camera, while trying to take another bite of his food

He's still a little awkward alone with the camera, he doesn't know what to say

Junhoe leaned in to him, and stared at the camera too. Junhoe said something and Chanwoo just nodded along with it.

Soon, the V-Live ended and Ikon talked some more before Hanbin declared it was time to go to bed

Yunhyeong gave him one last happy birthday before falling fast asleep

Chanwoo laid on his bed, staring at the ceiling, doing nothing, thinking about random stuff.

It was a few hours before his birthday ended.
Even if he didn't care about birthdays too much, he couldn't help but feel empty inside.

After like half an hour, he decides to go to sleep, but then his phone buzzed

He took his phone, wondering who would call him at this time of night.

He sees it was an unknown number, he was arguing wether to answer it or not, it could be a stalker/sasaeng fan for all he knows.
After a few seconds, he decides to answer

"Hello?" Chanwoo says

It was silent before a familiar voice was heard "Happy birthday"

Chanwoo's heart melted and he almost lost his grip on his phone

"Moonbin..."

"It's a new phone" Moonbin chuckled "I was actually worried you wouldn't answer"

"I almost didn't" Chanwoo confessed

"Good thing you did"

Chanwoo could picture Moonbin smiling on the phone

"That's why you didn't answer my calls or messages" Chanwoo says, trying to keep up the conversation, he missed Moonbin.

"Yeah, sorry about that" Moonbin says "sorry for not telling you. Fortunately I still remember your number"

"How long did you change phone?"

"About, 2-3 years... Maybe?" Moonbin answers

"You remembered my number, why didn't you contact me sooner?" Chanwoo was pouting

"It was around the time you joined mix and match" Moonbin said "I thought you were too busy"

"How about after?"

"You were preparing for debut" Moonbin chuckles "then after debut, I'm sure you were even more busy. I didn't want to disturb you by suddenly calling you for nothing important"

"There's never anything unimportant when it comes to you"

"Thanks, that means a lot"

There was a comfortable silence, both just enjoying this phone call, since it's the first time they've spoken in years

"I miss you" Chanwoo says suddenly

"I miss you too" Moonbin says "you should go to sleep, you're probably tired"

"You too" Chanwoo says "and Moonbin?"

"Yeah?"

"Happy birthday to you too" Chanwoo smiles by himself "good luck for your debut"

There was a light chuckle from the other "thanks. I'll meet you again, on stage, hopefully" 

Chanwoo nodded a little and whispered "yeah"
 
With that, Moonbin hung up.

Chanwoo saved the number immediately and fell asleep with a smile that night.
