Part 1

Let's Dance

Daesung couldn’t help but smile at his hyung, his sweet hyung, this romantic hyung and he really couldn’t believe that this was the same person he knew at debut. He supposed he always knew that this hyung would be so starry-eyed and full of cheesiness and couple ideas but he couldn’t be more happier to see it displayed right in front of him. And because of that, he couldn’t help but glare at the oldest hyung that sat next to him on the phone whilst simultaneously wearing a ‘sorry about this but you know he isn’t getting off that phone’ smile at Youngbae who also seems entirely put out by the oldest manners as well.

It wasn’t meant to be a double date per se, it was purely an accident that they managed to meet Youngbae and Hyorin at the remote beach - although considering how much Seunghyun pulled and tugged and bullied him into going here - he was beginning to suspect that it was the oldest intentions all along. And Daesung didn’t even need to pretend how annoyed that made him feel. He wanted to stamp on his hyungs foot and slap him right across both cheeks but he wasn’t petty -  but that didn’t mean he couldn’t enjoy a long sip of vanilla ice cream drizzled with strawberry sauce and chocolate sprinkles whilst conveniently forgetting to ask - never mind buy - this ice cream loving hyung one.

And so here they are, on a beach and on a wooden bench where Seunghyun was making it a point to sulk by ignoring everything that was not his phone, where Daesung tried to keep the conversation flowing whilst feeling sorry, where Youngbae was getting more and more put out by the oldest immaturity and Hyorin - sweet Hyorin was just trying to make the best of it without insulting all three. It was obvious that they all wanted to leave - but they were unfortunately too nice to say anything of the sort. So when Youngbae - in a futile attempt to carry on their date alone - told them they were leaving for the Zoo, Seunghyun of course invited himself along with a very reluctant Daesung in tow.

When they all arrived, both Youngbae and Hyorin led Daesung and Seunghyun into the main entrance - trying to keep the impatient sighs from being let out as it seemed that they will be having two tag-alongs for the day. And Daesung felt bad for them - he really did but the overgrown kid that was his hyung wasn’t having anything to do with the world that was going at a fast pace speed. No - instead, his shoes trailed somewhat aggressively on the cobbled ground - almost as if he knew how much the sound aggravated Daesung. No not knew - he knows. That damn smirk is back on and Daesung wanted to punch it away.

However, seeing the cute energetic animals managed to turn Youngbae’s annoyance at having two people ruin their date into a smile - his hyung loved animals and that coupled with the beautiful smile on Hyorin’s face made him forget his two band members.

Literally.

As soon as Daesung turned around from the information board he was reading, he realized that Youngbae had managed to ‘ditch’ them and leave with his date without any of them the wiser. Youngbae had left him at the zoo. With Seunghyun hyung. Who was still sulking.

He might as well have asked the weather to rain since it looked like it would be just one of those days.

Daesung made it a point to show how put out he was to the oldest hyung by stomping. He supposed it was comical - here they both were, at the zoo with millions of funny faces being presented at them and all they did was stomp and drag their feet along. And it was utter silence between them except for the huffs and sighs that they ‘purposely’ let out. It was ridiculous and it was childish and yet it was so very Seunghyun.

And for some reason - okay maybe he knew exactly why - Daesung was just completely fed up with the oldest hyung. Seeing Youngbae and Hyorin together made him realize what he was missing out on - seeing their faces light up with such joy was something that hasn’t happened between Daesung and Seunghyun in weeks, and then seeing the couple all romantic with each other made Daesung crave for it. But it was Seunghyun - and what the oldest wants he gets or in this case - if he doesn’t want to do it, no force on earth will ever make him do it.

And Daesung missed their moments - they may not have time now but before they dated and before they kissed, there were these moments where Seunghyun craved his attention with the most ridiculous things, where he would pull out a flower from a nearby vase and blow so many kisses on it the petals became lopsided before handing it to him.  And now they were at a zoo - and Seunghyun was still on his phone and Daesung was trying not to outrun the elder by walking at a normal speed befitting of humans. This could have been a date - except he was sure that the thought hadn’t even crossed the oldest mind. He really should just go back to the dorms and leave his hyung here - forever lost between the cages that kept the monkeys and the chimpanzees. But he was too nice and Seunghyun knows it. And so he stayed with Seunghyun at the zoo.

And as predicted, it really was quite a pitiful outing.

Youngbae wasn’t there when he reached the dorms and neither was Jiyong. Seungri was of course somewhere but Daesung could hardly pull the energy to search for the maknae. Instead he flopped down to the couch and groaned out loud - not caring how it sounded more like a whine than a grunt. After the unexciting and unplanned visit to the zoo, Seunghyun had managed to persuade him into going to different stores that was right near the exit. And of course he paid for whatever childish thing his hyung wanted this time even though he knew that the same things were sold at a much cheaper price near their local convenience store. But what really tickled Daesung’s nerves was the way the cashier kept eyeing his hyung - he should be used to it by now but it still angers him a little on the inside. He was used to the affections the opposite bestowed upon his hyung - what hurts more however was when they side glance him, he doesn’t even get a second glance or a once over - he wasn’t even worthy to even say hi to. It was always Seunghyun hyung and he always responds back. And yet Daesung could hardly do the same without getting another bout of a sulky hyung and Jiyong hyung on his tail to ‘fix him’ before the next show.

It was exhausting, it was frustrating and he was plain fed up. Which may explain why he exploded like he did at the car park. And why he left before Seunghyun could even begin to try to calm him down.

And at some point in between trying to forget his day and being angry at Seunghyun he fell asleep on the couch. When he woke, it was too the agonising sounds of some poor mouse running way from the evil traps set by the large grey cat. And sure enough, sat next to him huddled in a soft blanket and large cushion was Seungri and Daesung wanted to kick him, the least the maknae could do was cover him with an over throw - it was common courtesy at best but as usual, Seungri ignored them in favour of his own existence. Not that Daesung minded, he always found it amusing in some way - almost refreshing.

“Seunghyun called.” Seungri said, his eyes not leaving the TV,

Daesung just hummed, acknowledging but at the same time, not at all bothered,

“He wanted to know where you were.”

Silence,

“And whether you were safe or not.”

Still silence,

“He said he was sorry.”

Now that got Daesungs attention, his eyes widened a little before realizing that Seungri was watching him, “He said sorry?”

“Yep”

“Why?”

“How am I supposed to know!” Seungri said exasperated, though Daesung guessed it was more to do with how out of loop he was at the potential gossip rather than his own idiocy.

“Where is he?”

“I don’t know.” Seungri grumbled out

“Then what the hell did you talk about on the phone then!?”

“To be honest hyung I really didn’t give a ”

“Seunghyun!”

“What! Just a minute ago hyung, you didn’t either!” Seungri accused,

Daesung had nothing to say to that but that didn’t mean he couldn’t pout. But it was futile when he realized Seungri was doing the exact same thing and he really couldn’t control the giggle that came out of him - sadly neither did Seungri and the hyena like laugh that came out of the maknae sparkled both of them to descend into hysterics.

And that was the scene that Seunghyun walked into, with Daesung and Seungri hi-fiving each other whilst laughing uncontrollably on the sofa. He could feel his heart aching a little on the inside. It had been a long time since Daesung had even smiled in his presence, never mind laugh and he misses it. He didn’t realise how out of touch he had been to the world until it took the younger to shout some sense into him and to leave him alone in the car park. And although he had managed to get Youngbae to drop him off at home safely, his mind was still on Daesungs words. He wasn’t used to his dongsaeng shouting - he hardly did it and it was rare to get him to be so worked up - but he had caused it and he was so utterly sorry. And although he still needed Youngbae’s help into deciphering what in the world Daesung was shouting about (he accidently recorded it), he knew it was time to start showing how much this dongsaeng is loved by him.

“Hyung what are you doing here?” Daesung surprised voice startled Seunghyun a little but nevertheless, he made his way to the sofa whilst reaching towards his pocket. He figured if he wanted to be romantic - it was better to do the things he used to do, starting with a flower. And Seunghyun didn’t even need to hide how proud he was when he pulled the stem from his pocket and handed it to Daesung - he expected Daesung to gush over it, to smile and wrap his arms around him and say thank you, what he didn’t expect was a sudden ‘heol’ from the maknae and another round of hyena laughs from him. And when Seunghyun looked down, it was to a very crumpled looking flower.

“And what exactly is this supposed to mean hyung” He didn’t even need to look at Daesung to know how annoyed he was, his voice conveyed it all,

“It was supposed to be romantic” Seunghyun said, ignoring the snort that Seungri let out, “that’s what you wanted right?”

“Seunghyun…” Daesung trailed off, not knowing what to say or how to even explain what he wanted, but as always, Seungri beat him to the punch still chuckling,

“Hyung you think a broken flower is romantic! Hyung you might as well say you want to break up!”

“What no! No Daesungie no” Seunghyun panicked, trying to wipe the alarmed expression on Daesungs face, that’s not what he wanted to express at all, “I didn’t realize it would be broken so much!”

“Hyung, romantic doesn’t equal flowers, I just wanted you to pay attention to me, like how you used to do” he said softly, his eyes downcast.

“Oh Daesungie…” Seunghyun wanted to take his hand and cradle him in his arms and plaster his face with kisses, he never thought he was becoming so distant, ‘My Daesungie, I didn’t know…”

“Hey hyung” Seungri interrupted, “Youngbae hyung just texted, he said if the flowers worked?”

“If the flowers worked?” Daesung repeated incredulous before turning to look at Seunghyun who sat fiddling with his fingers, “You had to be told to bring me flowers!”

“Daesung, I-”

“-Seriously hyung! You couldn’t even bring me a flower without someone telling you to do it”

“I didn’t know what you wanted!”

“Maybe because you weren’t listening!”

“Because you kept shouting”

“I wouldn’t have to shout if you weren’t on that stupid phone all day!”

“I wouldn’t have to be on my phone if you wasn’t so boring all day today”

“I was boring!? I was boring! Hyung you didn’t even try! You didn’t even look at me once today!”

“That’s because-

“-You know what Seunghyun, you can leave now!”

“What?”

“Get Out!” And before Daesung could even change his mind, he threw Seungri’s pillow right onto Seunghyuns face, not caring in the slightest if it hurt him, repeatedly whacking him on the head until he moved from the sofa and to the front door.

“And take your stupid flower with you!” he added, throwing the poor crumpled plant right at him before closing the door.  He didn’t care he was being dramatic, although he did feel a little silly for becoming so emotional over something so little as a flower. And his hyungs expression when he closed that door didn’t really helped much in feeling utterly miserable at himself. But still, this hyung needs to learn that he has to put some effort into this.

“Damnit hyung, now Jiyong  will be calling in a bit!”

“I don’t care.” Daesung snarled out,

“Okaaaay” Seungri drawled out, looking amused at the sudden change in mood, “But just so you know, I filmed this all on my phone” His grin became more maniacal at the thought “there’s no way leader will blame this all me now.”

“Was I being stupid?”

“Probably”

“Seunghyun!”

Seungri heaved a sigh before grumbling, “I don’t know, no one ever tells me what happens.”

Daesung sighed as well before taking his seat back on the sofa, “Seunghyun hyung and me, well - we haven’t really been doing anything what with all the schedules but now with all this free time-”

“-Hyung,”

“-I just, he just seems so distant now, it’s like he’s tired of me. He even called me boring, Seunghyun. He called me boring and that hyung is as boring as his bearbricks-”

“-Yeah I know hyung”

“-and I feel like- like he’s being like this because he wants to break up right? Right!? Seunghyun, you even said it! He was just too nice to say it before-”

“-Hyung if you are going to cry do it somewhere else!”

He looked up just in time to dodge the pillow being flung to his face,

‘I’m telling you my feelings Seunghyun, something that I apparently don’t do enough according to all your interviews!”

“It’s not like I don’t care hyung, I do, but you are overreacting and I really don’t want to hear it!” He got a dark look for that and Seungri rolled his eyes. He really should have stayed upstairs away from all this drama - as if filming one wasn’t hard enough.

“Look hyung, you are too nice to him-”

“-Did you not just see me shout at him!”

“Oh yes hyung, that was sooo manly” Seungri drawled out,

“What’s that supposed to mean?”

“Nothing, nothing at all” And with that, Seungri went back to watching his cartoon, yanking the blanket right back up to his chin whilst the other watched, before Daesung decided that he too needed to calm down a little and made himself cosy on the three seated couch. He waited until the credits rolled before saying,

“I think I should call him, say I’m sorry…”

The look on Seungris face at his suggestion said more than enough

“Fine, what should I do - and don’t-”he hastily added when he saw the grin on Seungris face, “you dare mention your song!”

He received another pout for that but he didn’t care, instead he raised his eyebrows, waiting for the master plan that was Seungri’s. He knew by experience that they were usually good, he also knew that the first few ‘plans’ always involved something ual which he has to shoot down completely so that the younger won’t get carried away.

“Well…” Seungri drawled out, his smirk becoming more pronounced, “ I have a few..”
