Foreword

*Flashback*

There is a Princess named Alexandria. She is currently fifteen years old. Her Mother and Father had tried in the past to grant her wishes of not having to "pin a babysitter or guard to her hip". After much decision-making, her Mother came up with the idea to not only still give her a bodyguard but to give her one that would never "fight her back".

The Princess stood behind her Father, currently shying herself from where her Mother stood accompanied by a grey wolf that was average size and had weird neon green eyes -in the Princess's opinion, that is-. "A wolf, Mother? That's your grand plan on keeping me prisioner? What if it eats me one day?!"

Her Mother gestured her hand out towards her Daughter, letting the wolf see that it was alright to walk towards her Husband and Daughter. "He is harmless, Alexandria. He is for your protection. Anyone who ever tries to hurt you or any member of this family is to be protected by him. You have nothing to worry about."

Alexandria stared down at her Father who was currently petting the wolf's head. "You talk about it as if it was a human being, Mother. But if you insist on keeping someone --I mean, something-- around me at all times, I guess this will do. As long as he never tries to eat me, I will accept him."

Her Father and Mother shared a knowing smile before leaving their Daughter to further get to know her new "bodyguard" better. Alexandria kneeled down to the wolf's level and carefully stuck her hand out, palm facing the ground, as to not scare the animal. She tried speaking to it, to let it know fully what her name was and why the wolf was now going to be living there. Before she left the wolf to find a spot to settle down in the castle, she had decided not to name the wolf yet for she did not know if he would last very long.

*FLASHBACK END*

Now the Princess is awaiting her 18th birthday in a few months. Five of them, to be exact. Her wolf actually did stick around but unbeknownst to the Princess, when her Mother continued to refer to her wolf as a male, she finally was about to see why.
