Luhan adds marshmallows to the mug of hot chocolate and takes it out to Minseok.

"No coffee?" Minseok raises his head.

"No. Not today."

"I saved you the last slice," Yifan says, opening the pizza box. "Mushroom."

Minseok's hand finds Yifan's foot and tickles him on his sock.

"That's your grandfather?" Minseok stares at the photo.

"They say he had kind eyes," Junmyeon says.

"Yours are kinder," Minseok tells him.

"Be quiet. You'll wake everybody up."

"They'll wake up anyway once I play the guitar," says Yixing.

"Oops. I sure am drunk," says Minseok.

"For the last time, stop tickling me."

"Or what?"

"Or I'll do this."

Baekhyun chases Minseok, grabs his waist and tickles his stomach.

"One day," Jongdae gestures at the city view, "none of this will be ours."

"As longs as it's still 'ours'. As in 'us'," says Minseok.

"Don't even think it."

"Why?" says Chanyeol. "Aren't motorcycles y?"

"I'd be too worried about you," says Minseok, taking his hand.

Kyungsoo hugs Minseok's back.

"What are you thinking?"

"Just about the food you made yesterday. I loved it."

Kyungsoo smiles into his neck.

"Paint something cute on this card for my niece," says Tao.

"I'm bad at this. Ask someone else," says Minseok.

"No! It has to be you."

"It's an orchid," says Minseok.

"Why did you bring me an orchid?" says Jongin.

"Because I want you to have an orchid," says Minseok.

"I won," says Sehun.

"You didn't win. You cheated," says Minseok.

"But you forgive me," says Sehun.

"That remains to be seen," says Minseok.

"I'm so sore," says Luhan.

"Let me give you a massage."

"No. You'll make it worse," says Luhan.

"You're in for a surprise," says Yifan.

"What is this place?" says Junmyeon.

"It's where I used to hide as a kid," says Luhan.

"Thanks for bringing me here," Junmyeon says quietly.

"I dare you to jump into the water from up here," says Luhan.

Yixing studies him.

"Only if you hold my hand and we jump together."

"Fine."

"These trees make me sneeze," says Baekhyun.

"You just caught a cold," Luhan says with a smile. "Come inside the house, I'll make some tea."

"How do you always make strangers hit you?"

"Two times isn't always."

Jongdae hugs Luhan.

"Please be more careful," he mumbles in his ear.

"Truth or dare?"

"Dare," says Chanyeol.

"I dare you to wear the gorilla costume and kiss me," says Luhan.

"I'd do it anyway," says Chanyeol.

"My new year's resolution is to stop trying to teach you how to play basketball," says Luhan.

"I'm loving this year already," says Kyungsoo.

"We can watch another movie," says Luhan. "If it scares you too much."

"It's ok. Just hold my hand," says Tao.

Jongin snuggles up into Luhan's stomach like a cat.

"You ok?" Luhan says, his hair.

"I will be," Jongin says quietly.

"I never promised you a kiss," says Luhan.

"I'm aware of that," says Sehun.

Luhan contemplates for a moment.

"You did come all this way."

"You know a 'heart shape' is nothing like a heart," says Yifan.

"Sorry, I don't have a pillow shaped like a human heart," Junmyeon says.

"Thanks for saving me a seat," Yixing whispers in the dark.

"Are you cold? Here, have my jacket," Yifan drapes his coat over Yixing.

"I told you not to get me a gift!" Baekhyun says with frustration.

Yifan shrugs.

"I don't always do what you tell me, you know," he says.

"Going to karaoke with you is agony," says Yifan. "I feel insecure."

Jongdae kisses him on his nose.

"You have a gorgeous voice," he says.

"I used to walk this road every day for years," says Yifan.

Chanyeol looks at him.

"Is it weird coming back?"

He takes Yifan's hand in his.

 

*

 

Kyungsoo puts his hand on Yifan's.

"Just tell me what really happened."

"I can't," says Yifan. "Not to you."

"Please," says Kyungsoo.

 

*

 

"What are you doing?" Yifan holds onto Tao's arm.

"Recording the seagulls."

"Why?"

"I wanna remember this day."

"I will never forget it."

 

*

 

"Too hot!" Yifan reaches desperately for his water. "Would you stop laughing already?"

"Sorry!" Jongin hands him the glass, still laughing.

 

*

 

They fall on their backs on the carpet.

"I'm never moving again," Yifan announces.

"Good," says Sehun, resting his head on Yifan's stomach.

 

*

 

"I bought you vitamins," says Junmyeon.

"I'm not sick anymore," Yixing says awkwardly.

"Either way. I'd feel better knowing you have them."

"Come to the living room," says Junmyeon. "Let's watch movies."

"But I wanna keep hugging you," says Baekhyun.

"You can hug me on the sofa."

Junmyeon inhales the salty ocean air.

"Promise me," Jongdae touches his arm.

Junmyeon looks up at him.

"Yes. I'll be here when you return."

 

*

 

"I don't do yoyo tricks anymore," says Chanyeol.

"But I'm bored. Do one for me," Junmyeon urges him.

"Ok. Just for you," Chanyeol says.

 

*

 

"Jesus, Kyungsoo. You're still sick," Junmyeon says. "Go back to bed. Let me in."

"Why," Kyungsoo mumbles.

"So I can take care of you."

"I bought you a box with 20 chocolates, but I ate 6 on the way," says Tao.

Junmyeon laughs.

"Thank you for bringing me 14 chocolates, Tao."

Junmyeon turns to leave.

Jongin grabs his wrist.

"Don't go."

Junmyeon turns back.

"Why?"

"Just... don't go."

"Fine," Junmyeon finally says.

"I can peel my own oranges, you know."

Junmyeon looks up at Sehun's indignant face, holding back his laughter.

"I know," he says softly.

 

*

 

Yixing pulls away from Baekhyun.

"You kissed me," Baekhyun says.

Yixing nods.

"What did it taste like?"

"Morning breath," Yixing smiles.

 

*

 

"Do I wanna know where you got it?"

"I did not bring you a stolen banjo."

Yixing strums it.

He looks up at Jongdae.

"This is so awesome."

 

*

 

"Stop trying to steal my sock."

"I didn't try," Yixing waves a sock in front of Chanyeol.

"I'm cold," Chanyeol says.

"I'll keep you warm."

 

*

 

"I didn't know you write songs," Yixing says.

"Me neither," says Kyungsoo.

"Where did you find the inspiration?"

Kyungsoo glances at him.

"So what's the surprise?" Yixing whispers, holding onto Tao's hand as they sneak up the stairs.

Tao turns back to look at him.

"You'll see."

 

*

 

"We should at least talk about it," Yixing says.

Jongin raises his head slowly.

"I love you," he says. "Are these enough words for you?"

 

*

 

"At least let me cover you with a blanket," Yixing smiles at Sehun.

"Fine," Sehun says. "But you have to be under the blanket with me."

 

*

 

"I have sand in my shoes," Baekhyun says.

"And rust in your heart," Jongdae says, wrapping an arm around his waist.

"I'm happy you came."

Chanyeol clings to Baekhyun's back.

"What are you really doing here?" he says, voice low.

"That depends," Baekhyun says.

He turns around.

"Why don't you, you know... like anything?" Baekhyun says.

"I like you."

"Why?"

Kyungsoo stuffs marshmallows in Baekhyun's open mouth.

"Did you buy me this eyeliner because you want it for yourself?"

"No."

"Don't worry," Baekhyun hugs Tao's waist. "I have enough of my own."

"Don't wait up for me," Jongin says.

"I can't promise anything," says Baekhyun.

"I'll worry," Jongin tells him.

"Me too," says Baekhyun.

Sehun burrows into Baekhyun's nape.

"You smell like flowers."

Baekhyun chuckles.

"Stop moving."

"Stop making me laugh then."

"Whatever."

"You went swimming," Jongdae says, sniffing Chanyeol's hair.

"Yes," says Chanyeol.

"Call me next time."

"Really? You'd come with me?"

"Duh."

"I hate that you feel alone."

Jongdae grabs Kyungsoo's hand.

Kyungsoo wriggles away, but Jongdae holds tighter.

"You're not alone," he says.

"Don't go! You have to taste the desserts I bought and tell me which is best," Jongdae says.

"I do?" Tao's eyes widen.

Jongdae tickles him.

"Remember when you taught me how to skate?"

"You were hopeless," says Jongin.

Suddenly, Jongdae looks him dead in the eyes.

"I am hopeless."

 

*

 

"Take me with you," says Jongdae.

"No," says Sehun.

"Please! I'll be good."

Sehun glances at him.

"Don't you dare be good," he says. "Ever."

 

*

 

"Remember what you said last year?"

"That this year will be better," says Kyungsoo. "It wasn't?"

"Well, I did love you more," says Chanyeol.

"And if I win?" says Chanyeol.

"In basketball?" Tao laughs. "I'll give you anything."

"And what if I take it now?" Chanyeol whispers to him.

"Will you let me play you my song already?"

"What's so special about this one?" Jongin says.

"That I wrote it for you," says Chanyeol.

"I can't say it."

"Then whisper it," says Chanyeol. "I'm closing my eyes."

Sehun leans in.

"I like you," he ghosts against Chanyeol's ear.

"That soda will ruin your teeth," Tao says.

Kyungsoo leans against his chest.

"I only need my ears," he says. "So I can hear your heart."

"I haven't changed my sheets yet."

"Really?" Jongin says. "But you love to clean."

"Couldn't do it," says Kyungsoo. "They smelled like you."

 

*

 

"You made too much tea."

"You obviously can't be trusted to stay warm," says Kyungsoo.

"Then just hug me," says Sehun, clinging to him.

 

*

 

"You have to help me wrap the presents," Jongin says.

"No," Tao pouts. "Let's take a nap."

"30 minutes."

"60."

"45."

"Ok, fine. 45 minutes."

"Stop crying."

"But I missed you too much."

Sehun wipes Tao's tears.

"Stop. You'll make me cry too. We'll be stuck here forever, crying."

"Does your leg still hurt?"

"Yes," Jongin says.

"I'll massage it when we get home," Sehun says.

 

Silence.

 

"Sehun."

"What?"

"Thank you."
