white day : a myungsoo-centric fic exchange  

slightly modeled after various secret santas/fic exchanges on various sites, this exchange focuses on myungsoo-centric stories where myungsoo is the main character, along with other members of infinite if you choose to do so. so this means, otp fics like myungyeol, gyusoo, dongsoo, etc... are all accepted... yay! however, i'm sure some may wonder why this thing is a myungsoo-centric event that will feature myungsoo-centric pairings - well, why not? but it's more or less due to myungsoo being the most romantic member of infinite and i'm sure quite a few people would love to see some more myungsoo-centric pairings fics for a fic exchange, so it was fitting to have it centered around one of the most romantic members for one of the more romantic days of the year (even if it's mostly celebrated in asia). and while some may be wondering why white day was chosen instead of valentine's day, especially since valentine's day come comes first - well, that's due to the fact that having this on white day gives you all a bit more time to write your fics. plus, white day is the day that men usually return the favor to those that have gifted them gifts/chocolates on valentine's day, so this seemed a bit more fitting since this will focus on boyxboy pairings or at least friendship based fics. so hence, the title. 

however, before we get started, there are a few ground rules to address:

   one.     subscribe to the thread if you want to participate since this thread will feature important updates and will have the final masterlist of fics when the exchange is created. 
  two.    once you have decided to participate, please fill out the form below and pm it to me. however, if you are participating, please only sign up if you think that you can finish a fic because i do not want to have pinch hitters doing 3+ fics because you guys found that you couldn't complete things. it's not fair to them, so please don't join if you know that you cannot finish. if you sign up and receive your prompts, you have a max of a week to step down if you find that you have second thoughts about joining. and if you join and find that you cannot finish your fic, then please do not step down a week before the final date telling me that you cannot complete things, especially since that limits the amount of time pinch hitters will be able to write those extra fics. so please stay on top of things and do not leave things to the last minute. i know many of you have school/jobs and i understand that some of your plans may fall through during the year, but as much as i am understanding of that, i also want this fic exchange to go smoothly as well.
   three.     follow the thread/dates for things and keep me updated so that i can make sure everyone that participates will get a fic. but you all have about 6-7 weeks to write and when the time comes, you will post your fics to your account between march 10-16 and then give me a link (via comments/pm) to said fic so i can make a masterlist on this thread to keep everyone updated so i can check your fic out. i decided to go with having you guys post to your main accounts because this way it gives you all some more access to readers, as well as the possibility of getting more comments, especially since comments is one of the best things that you guys can ever receive. however, despite letting you guys post your fics to you main account, please do not post before march 10 since the kind of defeats the purpose of the whole white day aspect of this fic exchange.
   four.     for prompts, you will be giving your white day match 3 prompts to work with - if you do not have 3 prompts, i will hound you until you give me 3 of them. you can give more, but no less than 3. i just want to make sure that those that receive your prompts have something to work with since 1-2 prompts may not be enough to inspire someone to write you a fic and actually have them finish it. because more often than not, if you don't like a prompt, then you will definitely have trouble writing for it. so having at least 3 prompts will give writers more variety. however, when it comes to prompts, do not make them so detailed that it is hard for your match to write one of your prompts, but don't give me 1-2 worded prompts either. a sentence or two should be more than enough. however, you can use pictures, quotes, and even mvs as prompts as well. prompts do not have to be romance/fluff related either, so if you want something dark and angsty, go right ahead with making prompts that represent that.
   five.     when filling out the form, please fill out everything. i do not want to give people prompts that are things that they cannot write. so please be honest when you fill it out, so if you don't like something like mpreg or cheating or having myungsoo be an , then make it known. if there are things that you like though, also fill those sections out as well since i'm sure there are tropes/genres/kinks that you may enjoy or even want to see in your prompted story. fill the form out correctly so the best matches can be made.
   six.     myungsoo pairings only. however, you can have other pairs playing supporting roles, but the main draw of this fic exchange is making sure myungsoo is a main character and that one of his pairings is the main pair of the story. friendship fics are also accepted, so if you don't mind seeing some more friendship based stuff, please prompt or be willing to accept friendship based prompts. 
   seven.     stories should be rated no more than pg-15 and while you can have some ual themes involved in your fics, no blatant please. stories should be at least 1750 words, if your a little short by a hundred words or so, that's fine, but please get as close to that amount as you can. it's not fair to your match if you write a short fic, while they write you a monster of a fic. 
   eight.     when the masterlist is out (it will be continually updated throughout the posting period), please don't just read the fic that was written for you and be done with it, but please read some of the other fics as well. you never know, you may find some new authors or pairings that you like. and please comment since i'm sure every writer involved in this will want a comment from their match and don't just give them a good job, but give them something substantial. you do not have to write an essay about how much you liked their fic, but a couple of sentences would be good. 
   nine.     fill out the form, keep updated (there are check-ins for a reason - please pm me before or after if you need to, letting me know how things are going with the fic, but preferably before since if you find that you can't finish, that gives pinch hitters more time to write backup fics), and make sure you're aware of when you need to have everything finished. other than that, have fun. form is below (fill it out and pm it to me - please do not post your form in this thread):

prompts: quotes, mvs, pictures, etc... must have at least 3 prompts, but can have more
pairings: myungsoo based pairings only 
brownie points: what do you want to see in your fic, things you like, etc... tropes, kinks, themes, etc... (i.e. cute!soo, myungsoo wearing pink, cliche things, etc...)
no-go's: pairings you won't write/read (including other infinite pairings), kinks/tropes/themes/etc... that you won't write/read (i.e. if you don't like mpreg, then list it here or maybe you aren't fond of woogyu, then list it. essentially this will tell me what you're comfortable with when it comes to reading/writing)
pinch hitter: yes or no (are you willing to be a backup writer?)
comments/questions/concerns: did i miss anything, is there anything that i really need to know when it comes to you as a writer/reader so i can make sure i match you well, any concerns about this in general, etc...

   timeline.     
december 25 : sign-ups are open
january 7: sign-ups are closed
january 10: matches are sent out, start writing
january 17: can't write a fic/second thoughts, official date to step down without repercussions)
february 19: check-in (last day to step down, otherwise please finish the fic for your match)
march 10-16: post your finished fic, masterlist is continuously updated (link me your fic at this thread)
march 14: white day (official date, but march 16 is a grace period for those that need it)

other than that, i hope the idea interests some of you enough to participate and please tell some of your fellow writers to join so that we can get more people involved.
