"What about the pack? Are you just gonna turn your back and make me handle everything?"
"For the third and final time, I'm not leaving." The silver-haired member twisted his head around just enough for me to catch the dark glint in his eye. He broke off a branch from the nearest tree and began stripping it of its bark with his pocket knife he always carried around. "I understood why Lay tried to stop me, but why are you here?"
I tighten my fist. "You're half the reason why everything goes right around here. I gave you everything. We worked together to make this a better pack, and this is how you're going to end this?" I pause briefly as I near him a few steps. "You're quitting on me now? Is this it? You're gonna be a all over again like you were when I first laid eyes on you? Then quit, you little ing scumbag!"
He wheeled around faster than I could process, and a tight pain rips across my cheek. There is a heated moment of silence filled with his rapid intakes, almost completely drowned out by the ringing in my ears.
I stare at him in shock. Seeing this, his expression softens ever so slightly, and then reverts back to a twisted scowl.
"Y-you..." He stumbles back and presses his palms against his eyes while his breath becomes even shakier. "You never cared for me. You never stopped and asked if I was okay or hurt. All this is just about you! You always tell me to do this, not to do that...and whenever I do whatever it is that you want, you're not satisfied! If I'm that useless to you, then go get someone else to bother with!"
His head droops as if trying to hide his face. I close in on him and see that he does nothing to keep a distance.
This is the most vulnerable I've seen him. He looks hopeless for once; lost that spark he always had.
I do what I'm sure I'll regret later, and wrap my arms around his small figure. He stiffens for a moment before burying his head further into my chest. A broken sob escapes him and his arms come up to start clawing at my back. "Jongin...I'm gonna die..."
