Jin looked out the window of the train. It was nearing Christmas and the snow had finally started to fall. His earbuds was playing a gentle toon as he leant back into his seat. He looked around the train, he saw people in suits on their way home from work and people in different ages looking through their bags at their freshly bought Christmas presents. Jin was currently living in Seoul with his roommate Yoongi. Yoongi was music major and was currently in the middle of preparing for his final exams. Jin on his side had finished last year with a culinary degree. Unfortunately he was having a hard time finding a full time job, so he was currently working part time at a bar as well as a café, where he was currently heading.


He checked the clock and it was nearing 5 so he knew that he would soon arrive. Jin usually worked early shifts so that he could work night shifts at the bar, but someone couldn’t make it so Jin was called in. Even if the days were long and he had really no time for social life, Jin didn’t complain. He knew how hard it was for youth in Korea to get a job, even if they had a degree, but he refused to give up. One day the chance would come and he would show them what he could do. Jin knew that he could do well, so every day he was looking for an opportunity to present himself; he would look through the papers and online to see if anyone needed a chef, but so far nothing had come up.

 

Jin looked up as the train approached the station; he grabbed his backpack and walked over to the doors. As he stood in front of them he noticed that many people had gathered around him, probably people who was going to shop for Christmas. He sighted and turned the volume up slightly. Jin didn’t actually hate Christmas. It was just the fact that this year his roommate was going to spend Christmas with his new boyfriend, this guy named Jimin and Jin had never met. Yoongi was pretty much thrown out by his parents when they found out that he was gay, so the two boys had spent the last 4 Christmases together.
