Jungkook met eyes with the boy across the table. He hadn't been listening to Jimin and Yoongi's conversation, so he wasn't sure if he had been introduced yet.

But he had to admit, the male was attractive. Bright eyes, stylish brown hair with a patch of green in the front, and pink lips. He was smaller in stature, with a slim

physique. But Jungkook was sure he hid some muscle under his loose shirt.

The boy caught his eye and smiled, but Jungkook turned away. He was awfully familiar.

Jungkook pretended to pay attention to Yoongi and Jimin's conversation instead, relived when Jimin acknowledged the male next to him.

"Tae went to Art School in College. He's really good at painting!"

The male ducked away from Jimin hand as the older reached to ruffle his hair. "Stop it Jimin! I'm not a little kid anymore."

Jungkook chuckled as "Tae" made himself look like he was a cranky eleven year old insisting they were grown up. All eyes turned to him, and he shrank back, not

used to being the center of attention.

The waitress cut in and served them all their coffees, and he met eyes with Tae across the table, who had gotten the same thing as him. Tae smile again, and

instead of turning away again, he smiled hesitantly. If you find someone attractive, make sure they know you're interested, or else you'll get friend - zoned.

Tae smile back widely. He has a weird, sort of nice smile.

They both returned to sipping their drinks, and Jungkook wondered how he had ended up here.

Yoongi had subtly hinted that he wanted Jungkook to come with him when he met up with his former boyfriend that he hadn't seen in years, but only since Jimin

was bringing a friend too.

Yoongi would never admit it, but Jungkook could obviously tell he was nervous. He and Jimin had dated, but everything had sort of fell apart when Jimin gone to a

college someplace far away.

Jungkook didn't know much about Jimin except for the fact that he was Yoongi’s ex and that he was bringing his best friend to his and Yoongi’s meeting. He had

known him in High School, but Jungkook had only ever really talked to Yoongi. So naturally, he had insisted that Yoongi bring along a friend as well. But Jin and

Namjoon were planning to celebrate their anniversary, and Yoongi didn’t know too many people well due to his sarcastic manners that seemed to naturally push

people away.

So of course, Jungkook “volunteered”.

And while Yoongi and Jimin got to re – know each other, the (basically update each other on their lives, and send signals with a double meaning), Jungkook and Tae

sat off to the sad awkwardly.

“So,” Jungkook cleared his throat, catching Tae attention as he acted on Yoongi’s advice. “How do you know Jimin?”

“I’ve known him for, well, practically my whole life,” Tae admitted. “One day, he went to a music studio for a job offer to dance to some rapper’s songs, and he and

Yoongi just, I don’t know, clicked.

“That’s cool.”

“Yeah. So how do you know Yoongi?”

“Um, well,” Jungkook said laughing. “Funny story. I met him in Middle School. He sort of ruined my project when he knocked the teacher’s coffee on my science

project. It was due that day, so as a punishment, the teacher made him help me make it again. He’s not the best with expressing how he feels, so I thought he

hated me for the longest time.”

Tae laughed, and Jungkook found himself liking the sound of it, just a little bit. Recognition stirred in his stomach again, but Jungkook shoved it away. He’d just met

him! They didn’t know each other!

They listened to their hyungs talk for a while, then decided to leave after they got particularly touchy.

They walked through the park, listening to the wind and trying to keep up some small talk.

“So how was High School for you?” Tae asked.

“Weird.”

“How?”

“Well, for one, I skipped a grade. And for two, in my first year, there was this certain Sophomore who used to annoy the teacher. He was sort of an idiot, but he was

smart. A bit of a dope, but he looked at things on a different level than I did. I really admired him, and I guess I had a crush on him for the longest time. I eventually

got up the courage to speak to him, and I really thought he might like me back. But that was about the time Yoongi met Jimin, and I spent a lot of time trying to get

them closer together. I didn’t have that much time to think about him anymore. I put Yoongi first. Besides, it turns out the boy didn’t like me; he got a boyfriend

sometime later, so I guess it didn’t matter. I was just misleading myself, thinking I might be able to be in a relationship with him. But I always thought if I asked him

first, he’d have gone out with me. Then I wonder, “who would have been helping Yoongi and Jimin with their relationship?’ Weird, right?”

Tae smiled. “Not really. You’re a really good friend to Yoongi. Beside, anyone who decided to date someone else instead of you must not have seen how sweet you

are.”

Jungkook ducked him head
