Tonight I Can Write (The Saddest Lines)

Description

Another's. You will be another's. Like my kisses before.
Your voice. Your bright body. Your inifinite eyes.

A bittersweet story that depicts the memories of a lost love - from infatuation, to passion, and finally the separation.

This is a story that is very close to me. I'm an old writer on this site but I decided to create a new account just for this story. Things written here may be fictional but may contain familiar occurences in every reader's daily life. Inspired from Pablo Neruda's poem of the same title as this story, it revolves around love - as a common theme, with a hint of betrayal and eventually reconciliation of and with each character. I hope that you could find enjoyment and maybe some therapeutic benefits through this short literary piece of mine. Thank you!

PS: I would appreciate it if someone could create a poster for this one. Hehe.

Foreword

“Love is so short, forgetting is so long.” Jongin sighed as he jotted down his sentiments on an old-fashioned with ripped edges journal, its pages turning brown due to old age. It has become a habit for this young lad to write every night, with only the lamp on his bedside table, and sometimes the glint of light coming from the moon reflecting on his window pane, as his only companion.

Deer, no, he scratched that and instead wrote the word with its proper spelling - dear. Yes, dear. Not deer.

Dear you, I miss you. There is no single day that  I do not miss you. I no longer love you, that's certain. But maybe I love you.

Jongin's fingers trembled as he continued jotting down. His penmanship getting messier. A silent beep was heard and he saw that the clock has already striked 12 midnight. So he increased his speed and wrote again until he lost his grip on the pen he was holding, dropping it on the waxed wooden floor. Looking at it with tired eyes, Jongin picked up his pen and started writing again.

This will be the last pain that you'll make me suffer, and these are the last verses that I'll write for you.

- K. J. I.
