PROLOGUE

"Hey Jonginnie do you know what my Pop-pops and your grandpa's talking about?", little Kyungsoo asked his bestfriend while vigorously pressing the buttons on the game controller he was holding.

Young Jongin shook his head and shrugged. "I don't know Kyungie hyung. And besides, I'm sure they're just talking about boring adult stuffs" he replied, extremely focused on winning Mario Kart.

It was just another plain visit of Kyungsoo's grandfather to the Kim family. But something was irking inside the young Do and its making him somehow apprehensive. His Pop-pops had been acting weird for the past few days and its making him feel uneasy.

He brushed off his worries as he drown himself in playing with his bestfriend. Kyungsoo peeked at the younger from the corner of his eyes and a sweet smile instantly made its way to his lips. No one knows how Kyungsoo adored his Jonginnie. The tanned boy would always make his heart flutter and the butterflies on his stomach go crazy.

Everything about Jongin is undeniably perfect. The way he smile. The way he laughs. Even the way he burps make Kyungsoo's heart beat erratically. He knows he's too young to know what love is but his 14 year old heart knows what it wants. And it was screaming for Jongin's name everytime.

Jongin stood up abruptly and punched his fist in the air. "Yeah! I beat you again hyung! Ha!", the tanned boy whooped as he dance around Kyungsoo, which in everyone's opinion looked like a chicken having a seizure.

Kyungsoo blushed as the other hugged the lights out of him while shouting how great and mighty he is for always beating his hyung. "Y-yes Jonginnie you're really the best in Mario Kart", the elder muttered while smiling lovingly at his dongsaeng.

It was the only reason why Kyungsoo always play half-assed with Jongin. He would always let himself lose so their will be a reason for the younger to hug him. "I know right hyung! I'm the best among the best. The master of all ma--" Jongin's self-proclamatory speech was cut off by his grandfather.

"Jongin, Kyungsoo.." The senior Kim addressed them with a solemn look on his face. "We have something to tell you two"

The duo shared a confused look before hesitantly nodding. The both of them were ushered towards the huge living room and took their sit beside each other. Kyungsoo and Jongin were dead nervous because of the frustrated look on their grandfather's faces.

Senior Kim heaved a big sigh,"We're not going to beat around the bush" he started noncholantly, " I'm here to tell you that from now on the two of you are engaged" he uncaringly said, serious eyes boring on the two boy's faces.

Kyungsoo paled and his eyes turned wide as saucers. His mouth was agape and he was utterly speechless.

E-engaged?!

"What?! What are you talking about grandpa?!" Jongin exclaimed, flabbergasted, face red with sudden rage.

The senior Kim just shot him a look. "Don't you dare raise your voice with me Kim Jongin!" He warned. "What you heard is correct! You and Kyungsoo will get married wether you like it or not!"

"Married? Are you serious?! I'm not even gay Grandpa!" Jongin exasperatedly argued.

"I'm dead serious Jongin. Kyungsoo's your bestfriend right? I'm sure you're not going to have a hard time spending your life with him" the old man pressed.

The tanned boy threw a disgusting look to his still unresponsive hyung before glaring back at the old Kim. "There's a big gap between bestfriend and lover Grandpa. And for God's sake I'm only thirteen! I should be playing with game consoles, not getting engaged. Especially to a boy!"

"This is the last time I'm going to say this Jongin. My decision is final" his grandfather muttered, face indifferent as ever.

Jongin grits his teeth. "You!" The tanned boy glared at Kyungsoo's grandfather, "What the hell did you tell my grandfather?!"

The senior Do just looked away and hung his head. The old Kim was mad at his grandson's behavior. And that's where hell broke loose.

Slap!

This time it was Jongin's eyes that widened. His mouth opened to speak but his grandfather beat him to it. "We did not raise you to be this stubborn child Jongin! You don't have a say on this! My decision is final."

After recovering from his mental shock, Kyungsoo grabbed Jongin's hand to calm him down. "J-Jongin please you need to cal--" the tanned boy pulled his hand away from the elder's grasp.

"Don't ing talk to me!"

Kyungsoo was baffled. He suddenly felt cold and thought he heard his heart shatter inside his chest.

"I hate you" Jongin said through gritted teeth, those once warm brown eyes are now cold and dark, glaring at the elder's shocked ones. "I hate everyone of you!"

That's what all Jongin said before he stormed out of the mansion. The two old men were sighing in distress while Kyungsoo stood their, stunned and hurt.

Stupid.

Pathetic.

Hopeless.

Broken.
