A New Beginning

A New Beginning

You kept staring at your watch impatiently.

How long was he going to let me wait?

You let out a heavy sigh. He was already an hour late.

And I had thought he loved me...

With another sigh, you let your head fall onto the coffee table in front of you.

"What did I do to deserve this?", you whined trying not to break down into tears.

Jongeun and you were together for over a year straight. But he behaved strange the past few weeks and this day he didn't even try to be there in time.

Was that supposed to be the end? Should you break up with him? It hurt to think of that. You still loved him, at least you thought so. Why would he do that to you? What caused his sudden change? Did he really stop to love you? But why? Have you done anything he didnt' like? But you could've talked about it... You always talked to him whenever there was something that bothered you. But why wouldn't he do so? Have you became that unimportant to him?

You felt your eyes getting wet by the thought of him dumping you, until you noticed someone approaching you.

Hoping it would be him, you looked up but apparently, it wasn't him. It wasn't Jongeun who walked up to you, it was someone you had never seen before. He wore a weak but heart-warming smile on his face and his eyes where shining which made him look even more gorgeous and handsome.

The thoughts of Jongeun were suddenly all gone. In fact, you couldn't think of anything. You were completely distracted from the stranger standing in front of you.

With a soft "Hello", he snapped you back to reality.

"H-Hey", you stuttered unknowingly.

"May I...accompany you?" The stranger asked with his handsome smile.

You hesitated at first. What if Jongeun would come and see him? But you immediately pushed that thought away. He'd let you wait for hours, it was his fault anyway. So you nodded shyly allowing him to sit down.

"I saw you sitting here all by yourself and I don't like seeing beautiful women sad." Caused by his words, a little smile crept up your face together with the heat due to the blood flushing up in your cheeks.

The stranger chuckled quielty while reaching out his right hand. "I'm Jimin, by the way. I'm sorry for making you blush."

You kept staring at his hand not knowing what to say. You were completely torn between him and your boyfriend, confused, but his presence made you feel safe.
So you finally shook his hand and told him your own name together with an embarrassed smile.

The stranger, who now had a name, crossed his arms on the table infront of his chest and leaned forward. "Wanna tell me why you were sitting here all alone? Looked like you were waiting for something"

He was too curious. You were unsure if you should tell him, if you could trust him. You've known him for like five minutes now, should you open up to him?
But what could you lose?
In the end, you decided to tell him. He was nice though, so why not.

"I was waiting for my...my boyfriend" You didn't want to look into his eyes since you were clueless how he would react. But stil, his reaction caught you off guard.

Jimin raised his eyebrows and the look on his face changed but you couldn't tell what it was. He looked surprised...but also amused. "You think it's coincidence? Or maybe fate?"

"Huh?" What was this question for? It didn't make sense. Coincidence? Fate? What was he talking about? ..Or maybe..

"I was doing the same thing. Waiting for my girlfriend" His smile faded a little.

This couldn't be.
You didn't have an answer so you continued to stare into his deep brown eyes.

"I was watching you since the second you arrived here, which was pretty long ago" There was his cute smile again.

He...what? Ohy my god..This guy was waiting even longer than I was...

"Why...didn't your girlfriend come?" Stupid question. As if he'd know that.

But luckily, he just chuckled as a response. "I don't know. I'd love to know, but that doesn't change it" He paused a little and looked past you. "Shall I buy you something to drink?" His smile grew wider and you felt relieved. So you didn't hesitate to nod.

With that, he stood up and left the table to buy something.

He was nice. You started to calm down while being around him but your thoughts always went back to Jongeun.

I wish he would be as nice as Jimin is. Oh my god, I shouldn't be thinking such a thing. But...he really wasn't nice to me the past few weeks. He was so strange and...I don't know. Nothing like Jimin.

It felt wrong sitting there with a guy you didn't even know while you actually were waiting for your boyfriend. For hours.
Jongeun deserved this, didn't he? He probably was with someone else at that moment. You just wanted to be happy again.

"Here, I bought you a coke, if that's alright" Jimin smiled at you while placing the drinks on the table. He bought himself a coke as well.

For the next few minutes, you both just sat there chatting with each other and forgetting about everything else.

"How comes that I've never seen you here? This town isn't that big and I've lived here my entire life" You asked with a shy smile tugging on your lips.

Jimin grinned in response. "Just moved here. Actually because I wanted to live near my girlfriend but..." He paused and you immediately felt guilty for asking. "I guess I've found another reason" He spend you a charming smile and although you didn't know him that well, you knew that he meant it.

You couldn't help but blush a little hoping he wouldn't notice but, of course, he did. Jimins grin got a touch of amusement as he shifted his hips in his chair. "How about...going to this evening party on saturday..with me?" He stared into your eyes making it even harder for you to think.

Wait...is he talking about that party? But...why...I have a boyfriend...and he has a girlfriend..I shouldnt...

But you agreed anyways.

With a satisfied smile on his face, Jimin stood up with the words: "So we're ona date. Gonna text you later on"

Then he took out his wallet, grabbed some of his money and put it down on the table. With a handsome smile, he turned around and left the coffee shop without saying anything else.

You, on the other hand, just sat there watching him walk away, then looking down at the money and up to him again.

"What has just happened?", you asked yourself quietly while reflecting the past few minutes.

You were going on a date. With a guy you met a few hours ago. While having a boyfriend.

Oh my god what have I done? I can't cheat on him! And why exactly 'Ceiling of Love'? Imma kill myself...

'Ceiling of Love' was known as one of the most romantic parties in the neighborhoods. Mostly couples went there because of the sweet and romantic atmosphere. It always took place on a warm summer evening so that you could watch the sunset in front of the Aiden River.

You always had wanted to go there. But you imagined it with Jongeun, although he never wanted to go. He thought it would be childish and particularly embarrassing if any of his friends would find out he went on such a "gay party". For him, it wasn't even a party.

And now you had the opportnunity to finally go there.

You just accepted to go to this party, but instead of your boyfriend, a stranger you barely knew, would go with you. And he even called it a date.

What has happened in the past few weeks that it felt like your life had just changed completely? Was it time for a new beginning? All you knew was that you were going on a date, with him. And you were definitely looking forward to it.

"Jinhee! I have to tell you something, you need to come over immediately!" You almost screamed at your best friend through the phone.

You had been on the way back home from the coffee shop and immediately called your best friend.

"What the heck? Where are you? Why are you screaming? What have you done?" Jinhee answered and you could tell she was copletely overwhelmed bur you didn't care at all.

"Just come over! And hurry up, I'll tell you everything then"

Although you weren't sure how your best friend would react to your personal encounter, you just had to tell her. It felt like your heart might burst, you didn't even know what to feel. There was pain, sadness, anger and hate. But also love, relief and happiness. It felt weird and your head started to hurt but you couldn't help it. You couldn't just feel something else or even nothing. You couldn't control your feelings and you hated it. You weren't happy with Jongeun the past few weeks, you just didn't want to admit it. But Jimin helped you feel better again. He even managed that you started to like yourself again.
You had to meet up with Jimin. Maybe he'd give you the things you desperately needed from Jongeun but never got. Maybe he could show you how to love deeply again. Maybe, just maybe, you'd get happier than before. There still was hope and for the first time in a lifetime, you believed in it. It had to be right. It just had to.

Your doorbell rang and you directly rushed down the stairs to open it.

But the person standing behind it, was definitely not the one you expected.

Your heart stopped for a second as you saw him. "Jongeun?"

Jongeun smiled at you but you knew it was fake.

Why weren't you happy to see him? He never showed up, never had time for you. He barely even called you.
You'd lost the belief in your relationship. But you still felt bad for going on a date with someone else.

"What...are you doing here?" You weren't even sure if you wanted to know. What if he'd break up with you? Would you cry and be sad? Or would you feel relieved? You had no idea.

"Why shouldn't I be here? I'm your boyfriend, remember?" He went inside.

Yeah, why shouldn't he. He was your boyfriend. But it didn't feel like it.
He was the one who decided when you both were going to do something together. He didn't even care what you wanted. He never did.
Why did you even love him? At this point, you started to regret your relationship and this time, you did not feel bad about it. He was an and you realized that only now.

"Why shouldn't you be here? You never visit me. I haven't seen or heard of you for literally three weeks! We wanted to meet up in the coffee shop today, remember? But you know what? I knew you wouldn't show up. And now you just come here and pretend as if nothing has happened. What is wrong with you? You've changed so much."

Jongeun stared straight into your eyes, his gaze went cold.

"Are you done?"

You sighed. "I could continue"

You didn't know why you bursted out your feelings, you just couldn't hold them in anymore. Although you knew he would get angry at you. You just didn't care anymore.

Seemed like Jimin helped you getting your strenght back.

Jongeun sat down on your couch without saying anything. He didn't even look up at you, he just stared straight ahead.

"So...why are you here? Be honest. If you wanna break up with me, do so"

What the heck? Why did I just say this?

"What?" Jongeun got up pretty fast. Way too fast. He definitely had enough by that time.

Oh my god, what have I done...

"I won't break up with you, I'm not done with you yet" There was no emotion. Neither in his eyes, nor in his words.

"What do you mean?"

"I don't know, tell me"

What the hell? Why was he like this?

"Jongeun...Stop playing around"

He was definitely pissed. But why? He was the person ignoring you, you always wanted to do something with him. He was the one who didn't want to.

"What? You just insinuated me tons of things and now you expect me to give you an explanation?"

"Yes", you honestly answered. He scoffed in return.

"I won't break up with you. Why should I?"

"Because, like I've already said multiple times, we never see each other...We never talk...and that's not my fault"

"Oh so it's all my fault? I got it. Still, I won't break up with you"

"Do you even love me?"

"I don't have to answer this"

"Oh yes you do"

Your discussion got interrupted as the doorbell rang for the second time. Jinhee.

"Who's that?" Jongeun asked with a hateful glare.

"Are you jealous or what? Seriously? I should be the jealous one, not you!" You almost screamed pacing up to the front door to open it.

You knew your eyes were wet by the time you arrived, but you couldn't hold it back.

"Jinhee" You immediately rushed into your best friends arms and hugged her tightly.

"Is he here?", she asked carefully and let go off you. She didn't even need an answer, neither did you have to tell her who he is, she already knew it.

Without saying anything else, she went in and walked straight into the living room to meet your lost boyfriend.

"Wow...I haven't expected you here, Jongeun", she simply said as a greeting.

"Nice to meet you too", he answered rolling his eyes.

With that he got up and walked past your best friend, up to you. "I am still not done with you. And don't you dare to break up with me"

This were his last words before he stormed out of your house.

As soon as you heard the door closing, you burst out into tears.

"Hey~" Jinhee immediately ran up to you to embrace you in her arms. "He's an , don't let him destroy you. You're so much stronger than he is, you know that. It's alright"

You couldn't help it. You were seriously afraid of him. He really did threaten you. He'd changed so much.

"Calm down, sweetie. He's not worth any of your tears"

About twenty minutes later, the both of you sat together on your couch eating ice cream.

You didn't even know why you'd cried that much. You knew something like this would happen anytime. That he'd show up eventually all of a sudden and you wouldn't be able to recognize him again. But you never thought of him threatening you. What was wrong with him? He was different before, you wouldn't be able to fall in love with someone like this. But you did fall in love with him, his old self. He had been nothing like he was now. It just hurt to think of him and you surely needed to distract yourself.

"How about you tell me what has happened before he gifted you this friendly visit? The thing I needed to come for, you know?" Jinhee gave you a warm and encouraging smile.

All of a sudden, the pain and sadness you were feeling deep down, vanished, as your thoughts went back to Jimin and the date on saturday evening. You even managed to grin a little.

"Must be something pretty sweet", Jinhee chuckled, causing you to nod in enthusiasm.

The fear of her reactions was all gone, you knew she'd love it. Particulary after what has happened half an hour ago.

"You know...as I waited for my oh-so-lovely-boyfriend, there was this guy...Jimin"

As soon as you formed the words 'this guy', a wide grin spread across your best friends face.

Oh she'd definitely love the idea of going on a date with him.

So you told her the whole story, from Jimin also waiting for his girlfriend, up to your date on saturday.

"Oh my god! You have to go! He seems so sweet! And this party!" Her eyes started to shine and you couldn't help but smile at this. You were glad to have a best friend like her.

"We need to buy some new clothes for you! And I want to do your make up! And Your hair!" She screamed in joy and started to imagine the whole date.

Listening to her, you started to get a little nervous, although you had no reason for it. You were sure that it was going to be nice and he'd treat you like a normal guy would.

"It's time!" Jinhee literally ran past you as soon as you opened the door on saturday afternoon.

She carried a big bag with her which probably had her whole make up and hair tools in it.

"And? Are you nervous?", she asked with a wide grin on her face.

"A little" Oh hell yeah, you definitely were nervous. You barely knew him and were going to go on a date with him this evening. Without forgetting to mention that you actually still had a boyfriend. But apparently, he was the one who treated you like . So why shouldn't you be allowed to have fun once in a while again?

A couple hours of hardships and failures later, you were finally done getting ready. Luckily, you were perfectly in time and finally had a make up and hair look which actually suited your outfit. You've chosen a plain light blue dress combined with beige ballerinas and a silver necklace. For the make up look, Jinhee put slightly more make up on your face as you were used to but you loved the light shimmering eyeshadow together with the matte lipstick. Your hair was pinned up in a messy bun which, in combination with the dress and make up look, didn't look messy at all.

You were so lucky to have a best friend like Jinhee because otherwise you would have completely failed to look half as good as you did at this moment. Besides, you would've went insane while the hours passed by that fast.

Exactly at 8pm, the door bell rang.

"Oh my gosh, Jinhee. I'm dying"

"Don't worry, it'll be just fine", your best friend tried to calm you down since you were literally going crazy.

You almost bolted to the front door but stopped just a few steps before it to take a few deep breaths. With one last breath, you opened the door.

"Hey- wow! You look..." He stopped and looked down on you "incredibly beautiful"

You could feel the redness rise up in your cheeks as his eyes trailed up and down your body.

"Thank you", you answered shyly. "But you're also very handsome"

You needed to calm the down or else something pretty embarrassing would happen within the next few hours.

"Not half as good as you do, let's go"

With that, he took your hand and led you outside.

Good that you had told Jinhee to stay at your apartment until you would come back. You'd need her attendance afterwards.

The drive to the party went silent and you were grateful for that. You wouldn't have know what to say to him. You definitely weren't used to someone like him. Though, this silence wasn't awkward at all. Instead, it was kind of relaxing, which was exactly what you needed.

"So, as you can see. We're here"

You looked around as you let your jaw drop. "Wow~ It really does look as beautiful and romantic as everyone says"

Jimin chuckled next to you while turning the engine off.

"Have you already been here once?" You asked carefully.

Thinking of Jongeun, you couldn't believe that there actually were guys who wanted to go to this place.

But he shook his head "No, not yet. But I have to admit, I always wanted to go as well"

"And why didn't you?" You were way too curious.

"I don't know. I never had the right occasion for it and my girlfriend isn't the romantic type" He stared out of the window causing you to feel guilty again. But that changed as he suddenly started to smile. "But I guess I have found the right person now"

And again, you felt your cheeks heat up.

Why is he so sweet?

Without saying anything else, he pulled out the keys, opened the door and got out of the car. Just as you wanted to reach out for the door knob, Jimin had already opened the door for you with a wide smile on his face. What a gentleman.

Just at this moment, you realized how good it felt to be treated like that. You had wished that Jongeun would've treated you like that just once.

I need to stop thinking of him!

The two of you walked side by side up to the large grassland where other couples already settled down.

You were glad that it didn't rain that day so the grass wasn't wet. You would have hated it to sit on a bench or anything else. Sitting on grass is so much more romantic.

After you had decided for a space with a nice few on the Aiden River, you both sat down next to each other.

I'm here. Finally.

Jimin pulled out something to eat, which he had brought with him beforehand, so that you wouldn't have to be hungry. You started to like him even more due to his sweet actions.

You both ate a little and talked for hours until you let your gaze wander through the mass of people.

Until you spot a familiar looking person.

This can't be...

It was him. With another girl.

Your heart almost stopped and you chocked on the cherry you were eating at that moment.

"What's wrong?" Jimin immediately started to worry until he followed your gaze.

"Is that..?", he asked with a careful tone in his voice, only receiving a slow nod from you.

Why was he there? What was he doing at this place? With another girl? And what about you? He never wanted to go there with you.

.

You felt your heart cringe and your eyes slowly getting wet.

No, don't cry. You're not going to cry today. Not because of him.

You already knew that something like this would happen sooner or later but definitely not at this place.

You were telling your heart to shut up but it didn't listen to you. You couldn't help it, you had loved this guy and maybe still did, you weren't even sure about that anymore. But it still hurt to see him with someone else walking around the place you'd loved to go with him.

Without realizing, you were on your feet walking up to him.

"What are you doing? I don't think-"

You heard Jimin behind you but you didn't listen, no, you couldn't. You had no control over your body. Your mind was telling you to yell at Jongeun and slap the face of this next to him.

You didn't even know what you were up to until you stood right in front of him, staring into his cold eyes.

Even at this moment, he didn't feel guilty, nor surprised, nor anything else. He didn't show one single emotion.

"_______", you heard Jimin once again as he reached out to grab your arm trying to calm you down, or protect you from what would happen next, you weren't sure.

"Are you kidding me?", was all you could say to Jongeun at this moment.

In response, Jongeun just raised his left eyebrow causing your blood to boil. He pissed you off.

"You're such an , do you even know that?" You couldn't stop to yell at him, although you knew he was getting angry too, which never was a good sign.

The girl beside him, on the other side, let go off his arm and gave him an unbelieveable look.

You deserve it, .

But you immediately regretted that thought afterwards as the opportunity of her not knowing what was going on crashed your mind. She probably didn't even know he was an .

But you couldn't let her distract you now. You had to finally tell him what bothered you for way too long now. It didn't matter if you'd hurt an probably innocent girl, your own feelings mattered at that moment and you needed to let it go.

Jongeun straightened his shoulders to look more terrifying but that didn't work.

Not this time.

"Oh, don't believe that you're gonna threaten me again. You have no reason to be angry! You've never loved me, right? You just needed someone to play with. And apparently, you've got bored of me and found another victim. Great. You're such an idiot."

"No, actually, you're the idiot here" Jongeun answered with a deep and slow voice.

"Yeah for believing you'd actually like me" You felt your eyes tearing up but you needed to be strong.

All he did was chuckle. He chuckled. You couldn't even believe it. He was literally making fun of you.

"Are you serious? Now you're laughing at me or what?! All the time, I knew that something was off. Well, how could I not know, you've treated me like . And now you're here, at the place I had loved to go to with you but you always hated it. You're just...I don't even know what you are. You're just...wrong, in all possible ways. And I hope for everyone on this planet that they'll never get in touch with you because you're simply cruel. You're the worst person I've ever met and-"

"_____!", Jimin tried to stop you once again and for a short second, you went back to reality, realizing the sudden change in Jongeuns eyes. "Stop it...please" Jimin spoke as quiet as possible but Jongeun heard him anyway.

"So I'm an , right?" His voice was dangerous but you couldn't let him control you anymore. You needed to make it stop. "You're just like me, having someone else" He gave Jimin a death glare causing you to fear that he might kill him within the next few minutes.

But he was right, you weren't any different from him. You hated to admit that.

"Although I told you that I won't break up with you. And remember, I told you to not break up with me. So who the is he?!" Jongeun raised his voice at the last sentence causing Jimin to pull you backwards a little more.

You couldn't believe that he got jealous again. What was wrong with him? You didn't get it. He got jealous of you meeting up with another guy, although he probably hooked up with every girl he met on the street and behaved like towards you. He was crazy, insane. And he drove you crazy as well.

"He was there for me while you were not! While I was waiting hours at the coffee shop! And you know what? I don't even care whether you threatened me to not break up with you or not. I don't wanna be your victim no more. I want to have fun. I want fo feel loved. I just want to be happy and be free again. And I want to have all the things you never even wanted to give me! It's over, and you can't do anything against it. You can't control me, neither can you force me to do anything you want me to do. It's over, I'm stronger than you think. I won't do this anymore."

With that, you turned around and ran away from him hoping that he wouldn't follow you.

I did it. I finally did it.

And you were glad that you did it.

As soon as you were far enough away from him, you broke down and burst out into tears.

Not ten seconds later, you felt a pair of two strong arms around your shoulders, caressing your back.

"You were great..He won't chase you" Jimin said with a calming voice.

You knew it was the right thing to do but it was hard and tiring. You'd once really loved this man but you finally were free.

"Thank you", you hugged him sobbing hard.

What would've you done if Jimin wouldn't have been there at the right moment.

You probably still would have let Jongeun control you.

It was the best thing that could happen. Jimin was the best thing that could happen.

You slowly looked up at him as the sun began to set. As if that was the activator of some sort of reaction, Jimin leaned over and pressed his soft lips against yours.
You slowly closed your eyes and let the world around you disappear. It was just you and him, kissing as the sun set down and it was the greatest feeling one could ever imagine.

Was this the start of a new beginning? Probalby. And you had loved to begin it with him.
